I have a leaking coil diagnosed by another company. Unfortunately, the first company could not do the repair as they were not an authorized dealer. I called Raleigh Heating as they are authorized and the person the phone said it would be a $99 diagnostic fee. I scheduled the appointment. Two guys came out and took a quick look and said the unit is leaking refrigerant. They then stated it would be another $135 fee to diagnose where the leak was coming from. This fee took me by surprise as I thought the $99 diagnostic fee was for 'diagnosing' the system. Apparently not. When making the appointment, they should disclose there may be additional fees. This was never done in my case. Regardless, I paid my $99 fee, kicked them out (this was not the repair guys fault - more so on management who they contacted) and will give the business to another company who plays fairly. Raleigh heating lost a $3000-$4000 job because they felt like nickel and diming a potential customer.
