Built for Kids 3/9/2012

This place was built for kids. Play area, ambience, etc... My one complaint is the kids menu doesn't have any healthy options. They could at least add teryaki chicken and rice or something simple but healthy. more

looks are deceiving 6/26/2009

Good: The fish tanks were very cool , My 9 year old loved them. Bad: I was very displeased with my vist I had the 3 meat combo (steak, shrimp, and ribs) first they bring the wrong dish. second time food was way over cookedsteak looked as if they took it from origal order then threw it back on grill to warm it which left it charcal (sucks cause I ordered med- rare) wife order shrimp pasta and they left the tails on the shrimp that was mixed in the sauce. and then I get the bill $87.00 WTF! mind you I did have a kids meal too but still not worth it!. Improvements: I would love to see a customer survey at the restaurant that I can fill out and some one would actually read it. and $ 35 for bad ribs isnt worth it. Other: went to RC for my boy (graduated 2nd grade) I am happy to see a smile on his face cause as of leave me and mom left there with out a smile. more

This place is way over rated. The food is strange and nasty. My husband and I enjoyed the rain forest cafe in Disney world. We didn't eat the food though. We ordered drinks from the bar. Those were very good! more

Sign For a Bank Loan on Your Way In 1/11/2007

We stopped in for lunch at the Rainforest Café at Southcenter Mall while Christmas shopping this year. While the atmosphere is cute and jungle like, and the animatronics firing off periodically around the restaurant were fun (especially for kids), the food was way over priced and not very good. We were hit with sticker shock when we cracked open the menus. We both ordered the same thing—fish and chips—and we both found our meals to fall short of "terrific". Our lunch was somewhere upwards of $40, which I think is ridiculous. Especially when it wasn’t anything of note. The atmosphere, beyond all the jungle effects, consisted of an open place pretty much jammed full of picnic-type tables. Our waitress was cute and friendly, but absent for much of our meal. Kids would enjoy it, but I’d check at the door to see if there is a moderately priced children’s menu first, or perhaps a bank loan with a modest interest rate. Note: Judy's Book has the city of the Seattle listed for the Southcenter Mall. The mall is actually in Tukwila. more

Sensory YUM! 5/9/2006

The Rainforest Cafe is loads of fun. Even the long, long wait to get in is entertaining with the giant crocodile out front to keep you amused. My kids (and I!) especially enjoy the sparkling fish tanks and the rain forest action is quite amusing and sort of fun. It can get LOUD here - so you won't have to worry about your kids disturbing other diners. I thought the food was surprisingly good for a chain - the roast duck with bing cherries was very nice! more

Rainforest Cafe 5/7/2006

After browsing the gift store with its wonderful ambience, I was drawn to the sound of waterfalls. This Cafe is so pretty and eye appealing. Of course, it looks like it is in the middle of a rainforest. The interior designer here deserves a raise. The menu offers alot of variety from seafood, salads, to sandwiches. There seems to be something here for everyone. Everyone with a deep pocket, that is. Prices are high. more

The decor is better than the food 4/4/2006

The food isn't bad, but not the best I've had either for the prices. I think you're definitely paying for the atmosphere. If you can, try to get a seat near one of the animal displays or the waterfall. Your kids will love it! If you don't though, take your kids around to the displays while they're active. A helpful tip.... go on Wednesdays. Kids eat for $1.99 on Wednesday nights! more

Cool place to visit at least once 3/17/2006

The restaurant itself is pretty unusual, with the thunderstorm in the background and the wild animal sounds, etc. The kids love the atmosphere, but it's kind of wierd, you wouldn't expect to find this in the middle of a shopping mall. Anyhow, the food is good, but has a tropical flare to most of it. It's a great place to go at least once to see if it's your thing. Expect dishes like coconut shrimp, etc and some pretty good salads. A little pricey for this type of restaurant, but it's mostly for the experience. more

Rainforest Café is a Tropical Feast for the Eyes 3/17/2006

The only place I know that kids are less wild than the surroundings. Children are in awe of the huge fish tanks as well as the animated rainforest animals. It could get a bit expensive, but if the adults share a delicious assortment platter skipping the drinks and opting for water, and the kiddies eat from the kids' menu, its not too bad. What I like about the kids' menu is that it has a little more choices than just the normal chicken nuggets and pizza, with the likes of popcorn shrimp and spaghetti. If you have a membership card it is even better since you get discounts in both the restaurant and gift shop. It's almost as good as going to Disney. Almost. Well at least it is less expensive. Almost. Still, Rainforest Café is a fun place to get away from the real world. more
