I recently got my hair cut and colored by Sonya, I can easily say that my hair has never looked or felt this amazing. Not only was she thorough but, she listened to exactly what I had to say. Overall I had a great time being in this salon, I felt welcomed and comfortable. I will be coming in as often as possible! more

Amazing service! I came in because someone convinced me that doing my hair myself would turn out great. Well needless to say my blonde hair (that I was just trying to lighten a little) turned out RED! I am NOT a good red head. So a friend told me to call her stylist (Yasmeen) and make an appointment to have it fixed. From the moment I walked in the service was great, I waited for nothing and even as I exited the coat room my coffee was already waiting for me. Ah and even the sinks are amazing, no more having to slouch down to the sink, now it adjusts to fit youand don't forget the reclining chair with a footrest . Oh my gosh I did not want to move! So my hair turned out better than I had even hopped. Oh man to look in the mirror and see my golden shinny hair back instead of the embarrassing rusty redI've learned my lesson. I will totally be a returning client and I totally would recommend Yasmeen, and the entore Staff to my friends and family. more

I have been to this salon several times, for cut and color. My experience has varied-- I've been patient, because I've liked the stylist (Yasmeen), and was eager to stay with a place for a while. Following two recent experiences, however, I won't be going back. First, I called to cancel during a snowstorm. The salon was closed anyway but a receptionist answered remotely and re-scheduled for 9 am on Sunday. I arrived then-- no one was there. I waited until 9:15-- still dark and empty. When I called later the receptionist told me they couldn't have scheduled my appointment for that time, as the salon doesn't open until 10. No apology-- just the facts. At my next appointment I was told that Yasmeen would be working on two clients at the same time (for $58 I get to share a stylist). She'd wash my hair then leave to take care of the other woman, then return, etc. Because I only wanted a trim I didn't question it. My mistake. Perhaps that's the reason why I left with messy razor work, way too much texturizing, and an overall uneven haircut. more

I posted a review here about my not-so-great experience and a girlfriend's awful experience with Ra. Since my experience, the store has undergone a change in management. It's obvious that they care deeply about their customers, because I recieved a call right away from the salon manager. She asked me about my experience and my girlfriend's, and she talked with me about how they could make it up to both of us. I was really touched that they would go so far (many businesses would have just written us off). Hair is always a touchy subject with us ladies, and upsets are bound to happen. But it's nice to know that Ra Salon cares enough make things as right as they possibly can. :) more

The second time I went to see Yasmine as she was finishing her previous appt. The girl at the front desk said she was finishing up. After 35 minutes of waiting I had enough. She said sorry and it should only be a few more minutes. THATS IT! No offer to reschedule proactively, no offer of a free haircut or discount, just sorry and that her previous client had enought hair for 3 people and she didn't see me come in... Yasmine called me after I walked out and she said the same thing; ""sorry."" Nothing like please come back in so I can make this right, or anything. Lost a customer for good because no customer service or effort was put forth. more

I frankly don't understand why this place would receive good reviews. I had an appt for a facial at 9:00 AM, and showed up about 15 minutes early (as most people do for that type of service to relax beforehand). The salon was closed until 9:05 when they finally opened up their doors. I went to check-in at the front and the receptionist game me a blank look...no greeting, no apology. The service itself was very average and the atmosphere was a bit dingy. Save your $ and go elsewhere!!! more

I was impressed by how professional yet friendly the entire staff is. my stylist, natalie, was very attentive to my requests and gave me exactly the haircut I described. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the smell was wonderful! I will be returning for any of my hair services I need in the future. more

I have always been afraid to let someone new cut my hair, but seeing as I am a full time student I decided to go with the inexpensive option of a fresh tlent. I am really glad I did. Even after I am no longer a student I will continue going to Ra. \r My appointment was at 10, but was called back about 9:50. Although the appointment lasted until about 10:45, it was well worth it. The stylists are very thorough. \r There are a few reasons it takes about 1 hour for each appointment. First, they will massage your head, neck, shoulders. Second, they are very thorough with the style, and they even teach you tips on how to style at home. \r Afterwards they will do a little make up for you, however, I didn't have them do the make up. \r Once it is all said and done the student will walk you to the cashier and fill a basket with all the Aveda products they used on your hair, they aren't extremely pushy. I didn't purchase any and I only had to say ""No thank you"" once. \r Ultimately, they are helpful, friendly, provide quality service, and to top it off they pamper you! I will definitely be getting my future cuts at Ra Salon Spa.\r more

I have been seeing Ana for 2 and a half years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. I have very thick hair and she is the queen of removing bulk. She listens, keeps up on current trends, and is very professional. She has literally improved the look and feel of my hair. She also does my highlights and I get compliments all the time that I have beautiful blonde hair. I have had stylists do blonde wrong before, always too gold or stripy, not the case with Ana it looks natural, healthy and pretty. I always feel great when I leave the salon because she gets my hair smoother than I ever could at home, even though I have gotten better at styling since she has taught me how to style it. I also see Erin for facials here and she is wonderful. She does eyebrow wax with a facial convenient; Erin is very good at clearing up my blemishes and removing dead skin. My skin looks much clearer and healthier. The staff is friendly and the salon is very comfortable with lots of natural light unlike most of the chain salons here. It’s in a lovely building with lots of free parking located in downtown Redmond, Ana is also a great decorator. I love this salon and so do the friends I have referred here. She has made some pretty drastic changes to a couple of my friends and they all look amazing. My Mom is even about to start coming here from Seattle because no one can get her hair right. Oh another plus for these ladies is the products they use and retail Aveda natural hair and skincare products. I love the smell and feel of these products. Give this place a try... more

Well worth traveling across 520 Bridge!\r I used to live in Redmond and went to Ra Salon. When I was visiting Redmond to hang-out with my sister, I booked facials for the both of us. \r Best facial, hands down, that I've had in years. Erin is amazing. My skin looked beautiful and radiant. The Aveda products Erin recommended has helped my skin stay Dewey and blemish free. My sister is also raving about her skin..\r While there on a Friday, I saw Ana who I knew from another salon, long ago and far away. she was doing an amazing cut on this woman...in fact all the cuts I saw when I was there on Friday were beautiful. Some were edgy, some were not, but they fit the person perfectly. That's how I judge a good salon; not all the costumers coming out have the same cut and the cut and color fit the person.\r I asked Ana if she could cut my hair and they scheduled me and my sister for Saturday morning. \r The salon is upscale, yet you feel wonderfully comfortable there. Some upscale, high-end salons have the rudest staff, but not at Ra salon. Everyone I dealt with was smiling, kind, and accommodating. \r I booked another appointment in April with her. Ana knows her stuff and she's fun. \r My cut ROCKED. It was fresh and new and brightened up my whole look. I love Ana.\r \r Thanks everyone. I love coming up to the salon from Portland. I love Ra Salon! \r \r I have referred many people to this salon, and not one person has been disappointed. The stylists are all very nice and the atmosphere seems modern and sophisticated.\r \r I get my hair cut by yasmeen, and she is FANTASTIC, hands down the best person I have ever had cut my hair! I have my hair cut and colored, however I have shoulder-length, thick, curly hair so yasmeen recommended I get the Keratin Treatment for my hair. WHAT A MIRACLE! It was the best decision I have ever made in regards to my hair. It used to take me anywhere from 45 mins to an hour to blow dry and flat-iron my hair. With this treatment it now only takes around 5 mins (give or take) to blow dry and about 10 mins to flat-iron. It saves me so much time and hassle! The treatment itself is relatively painless (the worst part being the pretty penny you have to fork over....but this salon sometimes runs specials making it completely affordable). The process goes like this: 1) They wash your hair then blow dry, 2) they apply the protein treatment to your hair and let it sit for 20 mins, 3) finally, they blow dry your hair (leaving in the treatment) and then use a specially designed flat-iron to straighten your hair. Its that simple and it's great because it doesn't damage your hair but makes it stronger, smoother, and healthier. My 2 suggestions, however are 1) be prepared for NOT being able to wash your hair, or to be able to tuck, pin, or pull your hair back (which can cause indentions in your hair until the treatment fades) FOR 3 DAYS and 2) be aware that you must use special shampoo and conditioner that are sodium and sulfate free. I found it easier to purchase the shampoo and conditioner made by Aveda, plus it's amazing, but there are other high end brands as well as organic ones that are also sodium and sulfate free.\r \r I would highly recommend Yasmeen at Ra Salon and the Keratin treatment\r more

I am a raving fan of Ra Salon! I started going to Ra about a year ago. Before I made the transition I ALWAYS bounced around from salon to salon. After my first experience with the ladies at Ra I knew I had to come back. I have been getting my hair done by Trina for the last 6 months. She is great! She understands exactly what I want and how to deal with my curly hair!!! Trina is great and I will definitely be back in another 6 weeks or so for a trim. Thanks RA Salon!!! more

I always wait months to get my haircut, and it's always been a problem. Since I started going to Ra Salon, that issue is all cleared up. They are amazing at giving me a haircut/style that will last for a long period of time. \r I just give them a general idea of what I want, and they comes up with an interesting way to get there. It's entirely exceptional and long lasting. In addition, the conversation is excellent, and they are extremely knowledgeable on a number of issues.\r The best haircut I've ever gotten, and I continually go back \r I have had my haircut by Ana, Yasmeen, and Nora. Each one has given me a great haircut. I know whoever I go to I will get top notch service!\r more

never deal with ANA! I came to have my hair colored and she quoted me the price. I agreed to it and while the stylist was doing my hair, Ana came to me and told me that my quoted price is to increase by $20. I agreed to it anyway although I felt I had no choice since the work has already been started with my hair. When the coloring was done, my hair color turned out uneven from the top part with the bottom part. Since it was already evening, I was asked to come back another day to correct the unevenness. Naturally, I agreed again. I had no choice. Before I went out the salon, I asked about the price of hair gloss which was needed to be done after they correct my hair color when I come back. I was quoted a price of $40. When I came two days after to have my hair color corrected, Ana helped with the work. When it's time to pay, I was told to pay $100 plus. I was furious. I was charged for the additional color which was not my fault in the first place. I asked for a price that would cover everything but every time it's time to pay, Ana would just keep on adding charges! Never, never ever deal with Ana!!! more

The first time I went Ana she did a great job on my hair and for a reasonable price, below what I paid at Seattle's Mode Salon ( ~$150 for a cut and color). But the second time I went was an awful experience. First I was told to get my own smock, but I didn't know where they were, while Ana checked her messages for 10 min. When she finally started she talked me into subtle highlights, which is what she talked me out of on my first visit. She started by coloring my roots, then shampooed, dried my hair and then did an all over foil with one dye!!! HOW is this a highlight?? My hair has NO highlights and yet she charged for highlights, total charge $240! And I sat there with chemicals on my head for 4 hours, much longer than I ever have and my hair has been a frizzie mess! She also doesn't watch the time, when she says I'll be back in 5 min. to check you, she comes back in 15 min. I won't be going back! more

I have been going to RA Salon for about 7 months now, and have been so happy with my hair, everytime I leave there. Ana has been wonderful to work with, in figuring out what works for me and my lifestyle. I am in the middle of changing my hairstyle and she made me realize how color/texture comes into that, as well as cut. \r Sherlyn has colored my hair when Ana wasn't available and I was very impressed with her detailed work and her professionalism. I went to Ana and was VERY pleased with my cut. I have long hair that could always use a little extra body- and the cut she game me moved naturally and was exactly what I wanted (even thought I wasn't totally sure what that was)!\r She was careful to ask me questions and run her ideas by me first. \r I'm really glad I went and would DEFINITELY recommend her to others searching for a steady stylist. \r Pros: Quality, Style Cons: -- more
