If I could rate it higher, I would. Both, Dr. Shannon Raboin and Kristen Raboin are the best. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat, now but I would not take my pets anywhere else, ever. Bot...

Sounds like previous post is trying to divert blame & guilt over neglecting her pet 1/18/2008

As a client since 1986, I have ample experience with both the regular & after hours clinic. Quail Corners is my #1choice for quality of service & caring attitude. They have always provided great care to my pets, fosters & rescues for 22+ years. I've made so many visits to the emergency clinic that I know the staff very well & can't imagine them responding in the way described. They care for any animal who comes in the door & do not make treatment decisions based on its status as a valued (paying) pet or an unclaimed stray. Nail trims & ear cleaning are basic care that should be regularly provided for the pet's comfort & hygiene. Noting the neglect, the staff quickly took practical steps to ease the stray's discomfort, before knowing if the owner would appear or if they would ever be compensated. A responsible owner knows that having a pet & caring for it properly isn't cheap. To me, having skilled staff available 24/7 is worth it. We pay a fee for an ER visit, after-hours plumber, etc. for the convenience, why is this any different? Because they cared for your sad, lost dog, it was kept safe and comfortable, only so you could arrive to give these dedicated people a hard time. If I were the owner of this clinic I would take you to court. You are on shaky ground posting these stupid rants. If you went to court, how would you respond to the following questions: What was the diagnosis & treatment for your dog's ear condition? What was the diagnosis & treatment for your dog's nail condition? Was medicine prescribed for any condition? Is the neighbor who brought in your dog likely to support your view, or the clinic's? Were other witnesses present who saw your dog's condition? How much were you charged, and have actually paid, for these services? I would seriously consider retracting any postings of this nature...in the meantime I will continue to recommend Quail Corners Animal Hospital to anyone who wants the best vet care in Raleigh! Pros: highly trained, up to date on latest practice procedures, friendly & patient staff Cons: none more

Previous unhappy reviewer is way off the mark! 1/18/2008

I absolutely recommend Quail Corners as the best veterinary hospital I know in terms of quality of services, knowledge, and genuine compassion for animals. I have been a client of this hospital since 1986. Although a few of the faces have changed over time, this facility has consistently provided the highest quality of care to my own pets as well as the fosters and rescues I have helped. \r \r As a long-time client who has experience with both their regular and after hours services, I hope anyone who reads this will give due consideration to my review. I have had to take my pets, fosters, and rescues to the after-hours emergency clinic so many times over the years that I know the staff very well and cannot imagine them responding in the way the unhappy reviewer described. Their primary concern is to provide immediate care to any needy animal who comes in their door, and they do not base treatment decisions on its status as a valued pet or an unclaimed stray. May I remind this person more

First & foremost it is very disappointing that this "client" feels this way toward our hospital. The majority of the things that she says in her review are incorrect & totally outrageous! Our sole intention when this elderly dog arrived was to HELP it. She was brought to our hospital after a good samaritan found her cold & distraught in the woods. I will not resort to the same type of slander that this client has chosen but I will explain that this dog is far from HEALTHY!! Upon her admission exam she was discovered to have MANY debilitating problems. It is obvious to us that this dog was in pain when she arrived in our hospital and because we are dedicated to HELPING animals, we found it necessary to relieve her pain?RATHER?than wait to see if someone claimed her or not. \r We were elated when her true owner was found. We were not greeted with the same elation!! This person became quite a tyrant as soon as she arrived. It became clear to us that the fact that this dog was g more

Horrid Staff - Expensive "emergency" services 11/14/2007

My dog got out of our gate late last night and a kind neighbor found her and took her to this place. My relief at finding my dog safe and sound was tempered by the obnoxious charges and RUDE service from the people at Quail Corners Animal Hospital. In additional to the emergency boarding (which I was glad to pay, knowing my dog was safe), the other emergency charges they deemed necessary were an emergency nail trimming and an emergency ear cleaning. All of this was done between midnight and 7am, when I was out searching the neighborhood for my dog. If the dog was hit by a car, or otherwise injured, I understand some immediate medical attention is needed. But my dog was healthy - she was just lost - and not in need of emergency medical care other than a safe place to be until the neighbor called me this morning. The people working there were also incredibly rude. I stood at the counter in obvious distress and was ignored by three workers before the counter lady stopped counting her cash r more

Caring, Considerate, Open 24/7, Adoption program 4/26/2007

Our family has used Quail Corners for over 20 years. We've had 4 dogs with them and they have taken care of all of them well. We have lost 3 of these over the years and the staff was very considerate and caring when the loss occurred. We have had 2 of our dogs go through geriatrics with them and as anyone with an older dog knows, finding just the right medications and doses for older dogs can take some patience and good communication. They are always open and this is a real plus when things happen on the weekend or in the evening. They run their schedule on time - unless there are emergencies - and we all understand that that happens sometimes. But they will let you know if there is a problem with the schedule because of an emergency and they are happy to reschedule if it's a problem for you to wait or if they think it is going to take a long time. We have only had 2 emergencies in all these years and I appreciated the way they handled the situation and took care of our dogs quickly without any hassles. They have an adoption program and the best dog that we have ever had came from them. The fee is very small, just to cover some of their medical costs. Pros: open 24/7 with doctor on staff , friendly staff, adoption program too more

Quail Corners took care of my old labrador when she was very sick towards the end of her life - every staff member understood how painful the situation was for my family and welcomed our constant visits. We were comforted knowing that we were trusting our dog to very a responsible, friendly, and personable staff. more
