If I could rate it higher, I would. Both, Dr. Shannon Raboin and Kristen Raboin are the best. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat, now but I would not take my pets anywhere else, ever. Bot...

20+ Year Customer 2/23/2010

I've been coming to Quail Corners Animal Hospital since the early '80s, and have never, ever once had a customer service problem. My animals, and my mother's animals, have always been well cared for. I've never had a negative experience there and will probably always be a customer. Pros: Consistently good service Cons: None that come to mind more

No good experiences here 2/10/2010

I have been to Quail Corners for 3 different emergency visits, with 3 different animals. Each time I have been severely disappointed with the knowledge and ability of the staff and doctors at Quail Corners. Not only did the doctors fail to listen to me, but rather they made me feel as if I was an irresponsible dog owner, which is the furthest thing from the truth. I will not be returning to Quail Corners, or Hidden Valley Animal Hospital, which was my predominant vet for my animals, for the same reasons. This veterinary clinic simply does not offer the level of care and respect to animals that my dog deserves, particularly in a moment of great need. I would highly advise taking animals to NCSU-DVM for emergency care. I will be seeking another primary are vet, so recommendations are welcome. Pros: Availability of appointments Cons: Poor staff, incompetent doctors, no listening skills more

There are ups and downs 11/16/2009

I've been taking my dog here for about 2 years and have some really great experiences, and some terrible ones. It took me several tries to find a vet who I like. The first two recommended unnecessary and expensive things. For example, my dog had already received a series of vaccinations through the shelter, but they recommended she do the series over again because in their opinion the shots were too close together by a few days. Also, I tried to get her meds somewhere else that was cheaper, and they refused to give prescriptions because they claimed ""we will match any price."" There are also consistently long waits for appointments. My dog gets very anxious around other dogs so it isn't pleasant siting in a waiting room for 20 minutes. On the up side I have found one of the vets to be really caring, knowledgeable, and even told me up front that her meds would be cheaper at a larger pharmacy and allows me to get them elsewhere. He has been easily reachable for appointments, and questions over the phone. I will continue to take my dog here just to keep her with this vet. more

Very rude treatment to long time customer 8/31/2009

I have been a customer for 15 to 20 years. 3 plus months after taking my cats to them for their annual checkup they mailed me a bill for about $100 with late charges and no explanation at all. When I called they said it was a computer glitch when they switched over systems and that they did not charge me for one of the cats. I had been back to them with one of the cats who was sick many times over the next 6 weeks paying as I go every time. Never during this time did they say I had an outstanding balance. I had to tell the story to 3 different people, but in the end none could make a decision. So I was told I would be called the next business day by the fourth person Lisa. It took a week and a half for Lisa to call me back. When she did she left me a voice mail. I returned that call twice it took another week for her to call me back.\r \r They have a sign at the counter that states something to the effect that all payments are due when services are rendered. I explained to Lisa that I more

in it for the money, not the animals... 5/30/2009

I took my dog in for em. visit, within min. and after barely being looked at by a vet I was given a ""treatment plan"" which was 1600 dollars and was told that before they would do anything for him I would have to give them 800 dollars up front, what could I do the poor thing was lying their in pain...so I gave it to them..would have given them my car if I would have had to at that point to get this poor guy looked at...I was told that he would be fine, not a word was sad about possibly losing him until I got the call 10 min. after I left saying he had passed. Then they had my 800 dollars she decided to tell my that my dog was ""very sick"". I asked her for the refund for all the money I had just given her and she said the office manager would call me back and she did not, I called twice and she still has not called. I will probably have to contact an attorney and the B B B to get this matter resolved....BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE.... Pros: only animal hospital I could find... Cons: want money up front and lie about animals condition. more

Rude Staff 2/10/2009

I brought my cat to this location on a Sunday for emergency care and at the time was met by a kind receptionist and doctor. Even though the care providers were nice I was not given any information regarding how long I should let my cat heal or what to expect in the coming days. About a week later I contacted the receptionist hoping that the doctor would be able to provide an estimate of how long I should wait before bring him back in for a follow up if he was still limping occasionally. The receptionist that I spoke to was very rude and provided no additional help. She did not ask any questions on his current condition before telling me to just bring him in. After a few days I called back to cancel my appointment since my cat showed a slight improvement. Once again I was met by a rude receptionist who gave me a hard time clarifying if ?they were or weren?t looking at him?. Being the only 24 hour vet in Raleigh I would think that the receptionist staff would greet concerned pet owners who treat their pets like family with a little more compassion and professionalism. I hope that I never have another emergency where I am forced to use this facility. I ended up taking my cat to my personal vet for follow up.\r Pros: Open 24 hours Cons: Rude office staff, unprofessional more

Nothing Better! 1/24/2009

I've been taking my pets to Quail Corners for years. They are the only clinic in this area that has consistently diagnosed my pets correctly and treated them in an acceptable time frame. The staff has always been great, very welcoming and caring about both my own well-being, as well as that of my animals...something most other vets do not show. I've never met a staff-member that is rude or improperly trained and have never once questioned their judgment. I bet I've met every vet at the clinic and couldn't say a bad thing about them. I've even had to be seen on an Emergency basis, and though the cost was high, it was much cheaper than some of the other emergency clinics around and I had the privelage of knowing the vet and the staff, as well as their knowing me and my pets history.\r \r It's not possible to say anything mean about these people. Pros: Friendly staff, caring, well-trained, available 24-7 Cons: None! more

So are you simply a shill for Quail Corner's? Quail Corners is miserable, and it's obvious that the staff hates being there, they're incredibly unprofessional. \r \r They diagnosed our Great Pyrenees, who was the runt of the litter as being overweight at 104LBS. the vet that saw him appeared to know nothing about the breed, they average 120lbs for males. \r \r and BTW: we treat are dogs quite well, better than most people treat their kids. more

TERRIBLE SERVICE, rude staff, poor pet care 2/29/2008

We tried Quail Corners on 3 separate occasions hoping EACH time that the service would get better. We were met by reception staff who had absolutely no interest in being there, technicians were mediocre at best, and the vet care left a lot to be desired. We finally found a FANTASTIC vet in Bowman Animal Hospital. They're a bit more expensive than Quail Corners, but at least they *LIKE* animals, which is a LOT more than I can say than anyone we've run into working at QC.\r \r Our final visit was for my visiting mother's beagle. He had a nasty ear infection and we brought all of his records with us so that they'd have his full medical history. After waiting quite a while to be seen, the vet finally took a look at him, diagnosed him with the infection, and barely even TOUCHED him. Absolutely no affection was shown. After following the Dr's orders implicitly for 2 weeks, he still had the infection. We had to take him to another vet to finally get rid of it. \r \r QC may be wonderful with rescue groups as another poster noted... but I wouldn't take my dogs there unless there was absolutely no other choice. more

Sounds like previous post is trying to divert blame & guilt over neglecting her pet 1/19/2008

As a client since 1986, I have ample experience with both the regular & after hours clinic. Quail Corners is my #1choice for quality of service & caring attitude. They have always provided great care to my pets, \r fosters & rescues for 22+ years. \r \r I've made so many visits to the emergency clinic that I know the staff very well & can't imagine them responding in the way described. They care for any animal who comes in the door & do not make treatment decisions based on its status as a valued (paying) pet or an unclaimed stray. \r \r Nail trims & ear cleaning are basic care that should be regularly provided for the pet's comfort & hygiene. Noting the neglect, the staff quickly took practical steps to ease the stray's discomfort, before knowing if the owner would appear or if they would ever be compensated. \r \r A responsible owner knows that having a pet & caring for it properly isn't cheap. To me, having skilled staff available 24/7 is worth it. We pay a fee for an ER visit, after-hours plumber, etc. for the \r convenience, why is this any different? Because they cared for your sad, lost dog, it was kept safe and comfortable, only so you could arrive to give these dedicated people a hard time.\r \r If I were the owner of this clinic I would take you to court. You are on shaky ground posting these stupid rants. If you went to court, how would you respond to the following questions:\r What was the diagnosis & treatment for your dog's ear condition?\r What was the diagnosis & treatment for your dog's nail condition?\r Was medicine prescribed for any condition?\r Is the neighbor who brought in your dog likely to support your view, or the clinic's?\r Were other witnesses present who saw your dog's condition?\r How much were you charged, and have actually paid, for these services?\r \r I would seriously consider retracting any postings of this nature...in the meantime I will continue to recommend Quail Corners Animal Hospital to anyone who wants the best vet care in Raleigh! Pros: highly trained, up to date on latest practice procedures, friendly & patient staff more
