Prominence Apartment Complex

This is probably the nicest apartments in all north county San Diego but the service is horrible.Im a reasonable and pleasant guy who makes a very good living.Yet they treat you like you are beneath them or like you live in the hood even though rent is around 1700-1900 for a 2 bedroom.There is always dog feces on the sidewalk.They still owe me money for a week of rent i payed for and my apartment was not ready on time.Of course they conveniently say there's no record of it, but if you are late even 1 day on your rent they will demand the money immediately or threaten to kick you out in 3 days.I don't think they know the term customer service.Been here over 2 years and always rent on time.Late 1 day and you should see the attitude and hurdles they make me go thru.The attitude is similar to a bum walking into a nice Beverly hills jewelry store and having the hollier than though employees practically ignoring you.No greeting or smile and not even fake sympathy.Just a cold attitude as they explain their ridiculous rules to you and no appreciation for years of timely rent payments and no noise complaints.They took a whole year just to send someone to fix my guest tub.They waited till I stopped being nice and finally got upset.I could continue with a whole list of complaints but too much to write.Will post this review on every website possible and even go to BBB for money they owe me since this is the way they like to treat their tennants.For the same money i could rent a house.See ya! more

Well my husband is in the Military and we had to move clean across the United States to move in. So we had no idea what we were getting until we got here! When we got to the Apartment it was exactly what they advertised! The people in the front main office were extremly nice and understaning due to our situation, in working with us! I have nothing to complain about so far, they have alot of rules but most of them are for your own saftey and cleanliness! The neighbors are alittle noisy and loud and there are alot of dogs and barking. Really, where in california is not like that? You will never find a perfect place to live anywhere, but so far so good! The only reason I am putting my imput in is that I know how hard it was when I was reading reviews and you always see the bad ones. I would recommend this apartment to you! more

Like just about every other person who's commented, my experience at Prominence has been terrible and far and away the worst experience with any company's managerial team that I've ever encountered within any business of any kind. For one, I've received letters claiming I have a dog (I don't) and trying to backdate charges of over $800. The property manager at the time (I think they've changed at least once) or the person claiming to be - he was someone at the corporate office who naturally isn't at the location itself at any point or so it seems, told me the charges would be removed on my next statement when I called to address the random letter on my door. 6 Months later, it's naturally still an issue even though he HIMSELF was the person who came to VERIFY whether or not I'd had any animals at my offering for him to do so. For the past 2.5 weeks, I've had a broken pipe under my sink and despite over 20 calls and 3 letters, they failed to make repairs within 48 hours per the lease agreement. Additionally, when it got so bad that I'd told them they as a landlord were in violation of their responsibilities per California Civil Code (no sink function = dirty dishes = mold = flies = health issue) and told them I'd be deducting the necessary eat-out meals I've had to take since I've been unable to eat at home, I've since received 2 additional letters from them in what appears to be retalliation claiming (a) they were prevented access to the unit (I'll add that they missed entirely 3 appointments THEY SET to fix the problem without so much as an apology) and (b) that I have a roommate (I don't) and that I'm in violation of my lease. In essence, it's been nothing but problems and headaches; if I was any more than a month away from the end of my agreement for this terribly-run organization, I'd frankly have just left the unit and considered them as having broken my lease as per California Civil Code and seen them in small claims court. It seems in all likelihood that I'll see them there anyway. As one other reviewer put, this place seems like a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen. Don't move here; the security doesn't even check for verification of guests, the parking is atrocious, property management is terrible. By all means feel free to email me and I will be more than glad to discuss it with you. If you are checking out these places and happen to come across a protestor standing on the sidewalk in front of the units come June 2010, it may just be me.... or, who knows, one of the PLETHORA of unsatisfied tenants who got suckered in by their promises of service and the appearance and grandeur and luxury. I looked at Prominence in December and really loved. I had a really nice leasing agent who showed me many floor plans to help me find the best fit. When I returned a few months later with my roommate, I was expecting the same great service. However, when we walked in the door we were rudly greeted by a female staff member. She told us that she guessed she could show us a floor plan.\r \r After she almost threw us off her golf cart and yelled at someone driving in the complex we arrived at the model. She stood in the door, not pointing out ANYTHING to us. When I asked to see one of the other floor models because we really were not impressed by the one we looked at, she was VERY rude and said she didn't think that was neccesary. \r \r When we finally returned to the office, she threw us some floor plans and was done talking to us. I was showed by the way we were treated and WILL NOT return. Pros: nice apartments Cons: awful staff more

When I was looking for an apartment, I thought this one was the best. But when I moved in, I thought wrong. The first day I moved in, they told me everything was ready, BUT IT WASN'T! The refrigerator wasn't working for a week, mailbox key wasn't given to me for two weeks, AC/heater control didn't work for a week, and the carpet wasn't cleaned. I moved in here 4 months ago and still the fireplace isn't working. I have complained 9 separate times including once in their corporate office, NOTHING has been done! Now I find out the hard way that the central heater haven't been working either!!! The maintenance department are very nice people, they will tell you they will get on it right away and they will call you back. NOT ONCE DID THEY EVER CALL ME BACK!!! DON'T BE FOOLED BY NEW MANAGEMENT, OR THEIR LOCATION. THIS PLACE IS A GHOST TOWN, MORE PEOPLE ARE MOVING OUT THAN MOVING IN. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF HERE. more
