I've been to Tai Thai 4 times and unfortunately I won't be going back. Sure, each time I've found the food good and the prices great so I wanted to give the place a chance (and after going back 3 more times I think I'm pretty tolerant and fair) ... but the service is undeniably the WORST I've ever experieced in the 5 borroughs of New York. Bar none. The wait staff are unbeleivable rude. After being seated, you have to harass the waitress to order your drinks, food, etc. The waitresses take your order as if you're wasting their time, offering curt descriptions and generally very little help, etc. After your food has been delivered by a member of the kitchen staff, the waitress won't come back. Every time I've been there I had to get up and find the wait staff to ask them for more drinks, etc. Also, I guess putting ice in water glasses is beneath them, because they won't this either. Also expect to get up and track the wait staff down again when you want to pay the check. All of these things has happened not just on one occassion, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I've eaten at Tai Thai. My husband and I went lunch at Tai Thai for the first time today and it was unpleasant. I will not go back and definitely don't want to recommend to anyone. \r \r The food and the price are fair, but the service was unprofessional. I can't say if there was any service provided, except they took our orders and brought our food. That was pretty much it. However, they can't even do that perfectly. They forgot the spring roll that was supposed to come with our lunch special. \r \r At the end, the bill came up to $16 and I waited for my changes longer than my food. I think they were expecting me to leave the changes from the $20 bill. I was in restaurant business for 6 years, I AM NOT going to give them a 20% tip when I am not satisfy with the service. \r \r The best part was when I left 15% for the tip; one of the waitresses looked at the tip and gave me a look. If they think because they are a ?home cooking? restaurant, so that they can get away with professional service; we as customers should really think about twice before we enter Tai Thai to take any of that nonsense! I won't be returning. My friend and I use to go often, however we just could not allow wait staff to continue to treat us in such a unprofessional manner. This particular female wait staff was so rude. We did not feel comfortable asking her any questions about the menu, she seemed bothered. The wait staff would just slam the food on table and didn't ask us any other questions. Come-on. I visited there for years, It was the same staff doing this. No good.
