Good luck everyone!!! 1/24/2010

Pizza Man, along with 3 other businesses and 10 apartments, burnt down at 3:30am cst Tuesday, Jan 19th, 2010. Such a tragedy for anyone involved. 150 firefighters, 9 different organizations, worked to put the blaze out. The building is considered a total loss, it will more than likely be demolished once investigation for the cause is completed. I would really be surprised if it was arson, but no word yet. Good luck to all of you! You have my deepest sympathy, please come back strong and show us what you are made of! Pros: A staple in the city, very high quality Cons: Building is a total loss more

My favorite pizza in Milwaukee 10/18/2009

Their crust is thin and crisp yet substantial enough to handle a good amount of topping. Good use of cheese. The only thing that would make it better would be if they had the pepperoni that they use at Anns. I always have delivery it usually takes 45 mins to an hour. Plan ahead it is worth it. Pros: Amazing crust Cons: Anns in Hales Corners has better pepperoni more

Worst Service .....worst delivery guy..... ok Pizza 9/18/2008

Well let's say that I was really excited to stay in and order a pizza and a pasta dish. The Pizza was tasty and the Pasta was just ""OK"". I have never had Spaghetti & Meatballs that were mediocre as this dish was but at the same time I did not see an ounce of Parmesan Cheese in the order even when I had specified an XTRA dose of this topper. The WORSE thing of our evening is the delivery guy. The guy with the dreadlocks just had the worst nastiest attiude there was. He was very dry and I guess next time I will remember NOT to tip someone with such a ""constipated"" look onhis face as if I owed him a Million bucks. Mr. Pizza Man your clients should not have to SAY Thank you which I did and I got no reply back. He should have just given us the finger instead. Just because of this I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! and I have been goign there for at least 12 years. Mr. Delivery guy ....you are a piece of work. more

BEST PIZZA EVER 6/21/2008

I totally love this place. Pizza is great, wine list is awesome. When a restaurant is nearly always packed, there is little need to question whether it's good or not... This place rocks! Pros: delicious everything Cons: smoking is allowed-big yuck more

Delivery warning 4/9/2008

I'm not a native Milwaukeen. I'm staying downtown at the Hyatt Hotel. I read how great Pizza Man pizza is, so I ordered a pie delivered to my room on a Wednesday night. HUGE MISTAKE! The hotel is 8 minutes from the restaurant. (I checked on mapquest.) But I was told that delivery might take an hour. I was willing to wait, given the great reviews.\r \r After an hour I got a call from Pizza Man saying that their computer was down and they couldn't process my credit card. But they would be leaving soon with my pizza! 45 minutes after that I got a call from the driver saying he was lost. (The Hyatt Hotel is the biggest building downtown!) 45 minutes after that I called to restaurant to ask where the driver was. I had to wait 20 minutes until the manager got on the line. He then contacted the driver who said he couldn't get to the Hyatt because the Kilbourn Street Bridge was under construction. Holy moley! There are bridges every single block downtown, and I could see from my hotel room that all the others were open. The manager said he would get the driver to actually deliver the pizza. That was 30 minutes ago and I'm still waiting!\r \r So how is the pizza? Who knows! It might be good, it might be terrible, but for sure it will be cold. This place is a comedy of errors. And the pizza isn't cheap, either. A medium deep dish with three toppings is $29, plus delivery charge.\r \r Go elsewhere! Pros: haven't seen any yet Cons: incredibly lame service more

Excellent wine selection 8/21/2007

I wasn't expecting a classy looking place by the name of the restaurant , but I was very impressed. The atmosphere is great and the service was excellent. There is an entire binder of wine lists, so you have a lot to choose between. We ordered the calamari for appetizers, and for dinner it was the lasagna and seafood pasta. All was amazing and worth the price! Pros: Great wine selection, customer service is great Cons: Possibly parking more

150+ times, always a great experience. 2/22/2007

As enthusiasts of fine wine and good food, my significant other and I ate there for three years, once a week (or more). That means over one hundred and fifty times. Obviously it is a favorite, but having traveled extensively and enjoyed many great restaurants, Pizza Man is still one of my top picks anywhere.\r \r Pizza Man has a number of things going for it. The wine list is excellent--the full list is an exhaustive 3-ring binder and enthusiasts will find an excellent selection. Anyone who doesn't look at the full list is missing out.\r \r The city location is great and the hours are too. They have outdoor dining, a warm, intimate environment, fun staff, great service, and excellent food. (Had just about everything on the menu). They deliver too, great for those dreadful Wisconsin winter nights. I should also add, the general manager is tremendous--this is evidenced by the friendly, accomodating staff, and the great service they provide. \r \r One of the things that impressed me about the wine selection was, their wine was priced very reasonably. NO price gouging like you find at other establishments. Wine is enjoyed from crystal glasses, which is a great touch. Classical music usually accompanies dinner, adding to the ambience. \r \r Having moved away from the area recently, I can say Pizza Man is the thing I miss most about Milwaukee. I have not found any place like it. Without fail, I visit every time I return. Whether you go for pizza and beer, or wine and an entree, I highly recommend it. Pros: Wine list, staff, ambience, value Cons: You'll wait on weekends, but that's the perfect time to have a bottle of wine. Parking is on-street in a popular area... be prepared to walk. more

YUMMY! 7/16/2006

Well, I no longer reside in the Milwaukee area; I do go back to visit at least once a year. I never, ever miss a stop at Pizza Man! I am a vegetarian who tends to eat vegan the majority of the time so I only wish there were more entrees that didn't have cream or cheese. But, I still cannot help myself and always order the delicious tortellini. It is mouth watering, their parmesan dressing is to die for and their garlic bread is the best I have ever eaten! The atmosphere is fun and different. I always like taking people there from out of town because they don't expect a restaurant named ""Pizza Man"" that looks like it does to have such an excellent wine list with outstanding food. I will never stop eating at Pizza Man, even if it is only once a year when I visit. Pros: Delicious, fun, great wine Cons: few vegan/vegetarian options more

get real 6/24/2005

this restaurant exemplifies Milwaukee's hoaky, clueless perception of what dinning should be. i can't deny its has an uniquely rustic, cozy, romatic feel to its dinning room but that's where the 'pros' list ends. the menu is a joke. it reads like someone was trying to create a stereotypical kitchy late-70's watered-down for the masses Amercan-Italian menu and clearly the owners have never had the sense to update it since that era. the wine list is a bunch of over marked up grocery store crap, and the pizza is ho-hum at best. save your time and money and go ANYWHERE else. more

Number 1 pizza & Great Wine 12/11/2003

Best Wine Selection you'll fine anywhere and great staff. You'll quickly understand why your paying a little bit more than at Balistreri's. Don't forget to try the ribs and the escargot! more

Great place 7/23/2003

I haven't had a better pizza anywhere..... great wine by the glass need I say more? Pros: good staff Cons: parking more

Best Thin Pizza 7/16/2003

Best Thin Pizza I've ever had! A must go-to when visiting Milwaukee! Can't wait to go back and try the deep dish. Pros: Great Food, Atmosphere, Large wine list Cons: Limited Parking more

Pizza Man is superior to all the rest 3/7/2003

Pizza Man has not only the best pizza I have ever tasted, but offers a wide variety of other excellent entrees. The atmosphere is truly unique and it's location on the east side is great. Make reservations though, because the wait can be brutal. Be sure to ask for a booth in the back if you're on a date. Pros: unique, variety, wine list Cons: crowded, wait time, poor parking more

The Best 3/7/2003

I have had a lot of pizza over the years- but Pizza Man takes Top Place! The crust is so delicious, no one could complain about eating it! The toppings are so fresh and bright in color. The pizzas never look ""old""; even 2 days later its still good! No wonder they have been in business over 30 yrs! Pros: taste, freshness, price Cons: parking more

great veggie saute & chicken primavera 2/7/2003

The veggie saute is flawless; the chicken primavera also. Wonderful private, high-backed booths. Good service. Open late on weekends. Best wine selection in town. Pros: veggie saute yummy!, excellent service, fabulous wines Cons: crowded at times, some patrons smoking more

Love this place! 1/30/2003

Whenever we have visitors in town, we make sure to take them to the Pizza Man. You would not know it by the name, but not only does Pizza Man make some incredible Pizza, but their Pasta and Seafood dishes are absolutely amazing not to mentioned reasonably priced. Make sure to look at their wine list (larger than most fine restaurants). I give this place an A+ on food, wine, and variety. Pros: Food is Incredible, Privacy, Location Cons: Small Location more

Nice Restaurant 12/12/2002

Pizza Man has got really great food. Their pizza is unique and flavorful. They also have many different toppings to choose from and combinations that make for an interesting flavor that you might not have normally ordered. Their wines are diverse and substantial. The service is above average with knowledgeable staff. The other menu items are classic and original, and their baked french onion soup is fantastic. However, trying to find a place to park around that intersection is a pain. Pros: Great Pizza, Diverse Wines, Good Service Cons: Sometimes Too Smokey, No Parking, Small more
