While there were a litany of problems w/ the vehicle I dropped off to Pinellas Auto, so much so that they needed 5 days instead of overnight to address them all, they always kept in touch with me, clearly explained the issues at hand (including the wince-inducing bill because it was an air-conditioning issue), and then made sure to deliver the car back to me in pristine condition. I imagine that in terms of total man-hours and re-order of parts required, they didn't make much of a profit off of my business due to the issues at hand, but they did what was necessary and earned a loyal customer in the process.
