Best

We have tried just about all the Thai restaurants in the Raleigh and this little jem is the best there is. The food is consistently outstanding. The curries (especially Panang Gai...

Worst

I went twice, once with friends, 2nd time my wife wanted to try it. Ordered Panang Curry first time. I thought it was horrible, no flavor. Soup was bland. Tried another Curry ...

Very Good Thai, clean, &friendly 3/12/2004

LVie used to be called Que Wong (or something like that). The difference is better decorations and a sushi bar. I have not tried the sushi, but I do eat thai there, and the food is getting better each time I go. They now understand what the customer means by very mild, mild, medium, or hot -- but you have to tell them what you want. The tom kai is excellent, spring rolls are OK, but do not have shrimp., the pad thai is excellent (but they need to take shrimptails off), green cury is good also. The vietnamees soups look good, the chineese is not too good. They are located in a competitive area for thai, but I get by there a few times each month. Pros: rich & creamy curries, friendly wait staff, fair value Cons: , about local taste, ingrediant selection more

Hidden gem! 11/10/2003

My husband and I are new to Raleigh, and I was needing good Thia badly! We found La Vie on the web and decided to give it a whirl. We drove up, found it in a strip mall-ish sort of area, and debated about going in. We did, and what a surprise! The restaurant was lovely and quiet, not too croweded. The food was wonderful! And they have sushi!! We are huge fans of the food-the green curry with squid is yummy-and even when the restaurant gets crowded, it's still quiet and had great atmosphere! more

Two Thumbs Up!!! 9/20/2003

La Vie was a really great place. It has a nice atmosphere and lots of fancy decorations. Besides having the same cuisines as Que Huong, there was nothing visual that reminded me that it was Que Huong. But there is another plus to La Vie. They have SUSHI. =) I really like sushi and have not found any other place that has such delicious and affordable sushi. The price range on the Vietnamese and Thai food was also very reasonable. The staff were very pleasent and has the ability to stay pleasent when it comes to serving a full house. Since I have been to La Vie a few times when it has been really crowded from time to time, the staff has been able to get my food to me with ease. It is truely an experience you will not want to miss. Cons: can't think of any more

Ok food, good service 5/7/2003

I've been several times to try various Thai & Vietnamese dishes. The Thai Curry wasn't impressive; it lacked a sweet note, although the spicy was pleasant. I won't eat it again. The general 'stir-fry' type dishes are ok, but are missing the gentle complexity I'm accustomed to in SE Asian food. I will stick to these dishes if I go back. The fresh spring rolls were not as delicate and refreshing as most- the onion flavor was too prominent... something I'll skip next time I'm there. The meal portions were small, which was quaint, but doesn't suit the typical American's belly. Some of my friends love their food, some don't. I hesitantly recommend trying it - you may like it! Pros: Nice Atmosphere, Good Service, Large Menu Cons: Atypical Flavor, Small Portions more

Right On! 2/7/2003

I have never enjoyed Thai food. Fortunately, I went to Que Huong last Sunday and had a delicious feast at a reasonable price. This is one of the top 10 best restaurants in Raleigh. more

Excellent! Delicious! 10/16/2002

This place in great. Excellent noodle soups with huge portions. All the fresh spring rolls are killer, with peanut sauce. Every time I and my family came here. We have had great food and wonderful services. My family enjoy eating in this place twice a week. more

My new favorite restaurant 10/14/2002

Every time I have been here I have had great food and wonderful service. My favs are the coconut soup and coconut juice. Yes, I do love coconut, but I'd suggest just trying the soup. The prices are just right too, especially for a broke college student like me! Pros: food, service Cons: Capital Rd. more

Que-way Hu-wrong! 9/4/2002

Both visits were the same. The first found us there an hour before closing yet we were rushed throughout the time we gobbled our muddled Asian meals. Chinese vegetables in the Thai dishes?? And apparently soups are served at room temperature after 9:00. The next trip I debated which spring rolls (Thai or Vietnamese) I actually ordered with a teenage server. It's written on their own menu which is which--IN TWO LANGUAGES EACH! I even pointed!!! Geez! The tom kha was warm this time but contained mostly white mushrooms, although I did find a woody piece of galangal in the bottom. To be fair, the tofu sa-teh was tasty as was the spicy panang. But why not use Thai vegetables in a Thai dish like panang? From now on, it's Sawasdee for Thai and Pho Cali for Vietnamese. At least I get what I order and it's usually hot... Pros: cool fish tank Cons: strip mall environs, playing children, carryout's in the way more

Great for groups 6/26/2002

You really can't use the expression, ""A hidden treasure"", until you've tried this restaurant. I brought a group of 8 here for a birthday party and couldn't of had a better experience. This restaurant serves Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese food. All of it is flavored wonderfully. I'm more partial to the Thai items. Check out their daily specials too! What a bargain. Pros: Delicious Food, Big value, Many selections more

Awesome! 6/1/2002

Yesterday was our first time at Que Huong Restaurant. Everything was great! We got a lot of good Thai food with a reasonable price. We'd like to recommend the restaurant to anyone who love Thai food. more
