My husband and I are new to the area 3/26/2012

My husband and I are new to the area and live right down the road from the restaurant. Our first time there wasn't so great. For our salad course, we weren't offered cracked black pepper like our neighbors. It took over 15 minutes for my husband's entree to come out, and it took 25 minutes for mine. Our server apologized for the long wait and said it was due to a new menu, but I ordered off the Evening's Specials menu. During this time, we had to ask for bread and water. I realize it was a busy Friday night, but it was very frustrating to constantly ask. We noticed it didn't take very long for our neighbor's entrees to come out after their salad course, and they were offered fresh parmesan cheese and cracked pepper. I felt our server forgot about us, and the service went downhill from there when she realized she wouldn't make very good money from our table. I want to note, she was VERY quick in bringing us our check and processing our credit card! more

What a dissapointment. Avoid 8/20/2011

I was so excited to visit this restaurant given the reviews. I regret spending so much money here and wish I had gone with my instinct to turn around when we pulled up and saw the front. The portions were tiny, the prices ASTRONOMICAL. The salads were $8 and were about the size of a $1.99 side salad you'd get anywhere else. The wait staff is so pretentious and rude, they couldn't be bothered to help us or check on us. There are just too many good restaurants to waste your time (and MONEY!) at this over-priced place. more

The worst dining experience I have every had. 8/19/2011

We went with our 1 year old son and another couple and their child. When I called to make the reservation I let them know that we were bringing two children and they said that they were more than welcome. However when we arrived they were less than pleased and made us feel very unwelcome because of the children, who were very good and quiet the entire time. We told the waitress that we each had a deal before we ordered and asked if we could please have separate checks. After we each paid and left the restaurant we chatted for a few minutes outside before getting in our cars. A woman came out and started yelling at us saying that we stole from her. At first we were very confused as we didn't know who she was, or what she could possibly be talking about. She then turned her anger toward our friend accusing him of sneaking in his deal in his bill and running out the restaurant to avoid paying what he really owed. Both of us paid the full amount as well as tipped 15% on the total bill before the deal was taken off. She yelled and accused a little longer before heading back inside. We considered the confrontation over and talked for about another minute by our cars trying to get over the shock. I was putting my son int he car when a man came out yelling saying that he was calling the police because we stole from him. In addition to this accusation being completely ridiculous he was doing it in front of a crowd of people who were trying to enter the restaurant. He started writing down our license plates, and his voice was raised even more. I was afraid for myself and my child. In addition to the wait staff being extremely unfriendly, the shrimp dish has left my husband feeling very ill since we arrived home. I ordered the potato leek soup and a spinach salad. No where on the menu was the soup listed as chilled. The first spoonfull was off-putting and didn't really seem to get better. The portions although small had great presentation, but the flavor profile was off no way justified the sticker price. All in all I would say that it was the worst dinng experience that I have ever had. more

Authentic Italian 11/2/2009

I have never been to Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill but I have been to Italy and I have been to Pesce Fresco. Both times my wife and I have been here we were impressed with the food as well as the service. We have lived in the Denver area for five years and have tried many independant restaurants (we don't usually support chains) like Barolo, Locanda del Borga, and Bonnanos places. Pesce Fresco is as good if not better. I have not had better seafood in Denver (maybe Sushi Den). Halibut Cheeks were so good. My wife had a pork tenderloin that reminded us of a dish we tried in a restuarant in Peidmonte a few years ago. Pros: Real fresh fish, great wine list, not expensive more

Pesce Fresco makes Olive Garden look good. 10/9/2009

Food was horrible along with service. Apparantly the Chef bit his tounge the waitress informed us half an hour into waiting and as a result I waited for an hour for spaghetti if that is what you want to call it. Did I mention service was horrible and I will never go to this restaraunt again nor recommend it. In my opinion this restaraunt deserves half a star for the host. Pros: Host was nice. Cons: Everything else. more

Over Charged for standard food 6/18/2009

The potions were small and tasteless per the high price. Person at my table asked for a spoon for his soup and never received it. To top it all off they tacked another 4 dollars to everyone's cards without authorization. Food is over priced then they charge more then what you signed to. Cons: Price, Management Atitude, Portions, Service more

Best fish in DTC 12/27/2008

I just loved it from the first step in the door its very warm and cozy! the wine list is amazing and the staff know there stuff when it comes to the food and wine ! my husband had the duck confit tamales and he is from the southwest and he said he had never had such influenced food in denver! I had the corvina sea bass baked in roasted artichokes, calmata olives, capers and tomatoes in a clam broth with orzo and toasted bread with olive spread it was amazing the flavors and the presentation. and the prices were really affordable and the quality is unbeatable Then the young chef came and introduced himself he is so passionite about what he does it amazing and he was happy to share all of his preperation with us! some restaurants tend to be more modern and very stale pesce fresco is relaxing and the whole expierience was amazing we will be back again and again Pros: the lobster rolls, and the fresh fish Cons: tucked away more

An outstanding Italian Bistro! 11/27/2007

What a beautiful little restaurant in an unassuming stip mall a half block north of Arapahoe Road. The food especially the Gorgonzla cheese cake appetizer and the Chilean sea bass were incredible. The service was outstanding without being pretentious. The decor is like stepping into a small restaurant in Tuscany with warm colors and great photographs. The sticky toffee pudding was the best we ever had! Pros: Atmosphere and food Cons: They don't have another restaurant downtown more

Lovely Gem 1/18/2007

The atmosphere is cozy and elegant while the food is delicious. I love the wine assortment and anything I have tried has been amazing! I'm actually going there tonight for my father's birthday. Definitely a nice surprise considering what it looks like from the outside. Pros: romantic, intimate setting Cons: random location more

Wonderful! 7/10/2006

A favorite of mine. The PEI Mussels are superb - everything I've ever sampled has been excellent. Great wine list, too! more

Worst service experience ever 5/25/2005

The food and atmosphere are exquisite but the service...It went bad when towards the end. We were done eating, the waiter even took my husband's plate and I had a couple of bites left; but he didn't come any where near us for nearly 20 minutes. My husband tried to get his attention to no avail. In a nice restaurant I don't expect to sit there for 20 minutes with nothing to drink or eat and just wait. The waiter only had three tables, including us. I can't imagine what it must be like when it's busy! As much as I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, the context was ruined by endless waiting. I had been excited to find an amazing restaurant so close to home, but after waiting I will not step foot through those doors again. I don't recommend wasting your time. Cons: SERVICE more

Very good experience 7/24/2003

Everything about this restaurant is great. Great food, wine, just .. everything. From the outside it doesn't look like much, you'd say another strip mall restaurant, but it's not. I'd say it's about equal to the Old Stone Church in Castle Rock. more
