I love this hotel. Right when you walk into the lobby, you're swept with the feeling for grandeur and romance. There's gold everywhere (I think i'm just particular to gold), and t...

This was my first time traveling to Las Vegas, my trip was booked as a package deal with 6 other family members, who have been to Las Vegas over 8 times.

Spectacular food must try 10/21/2008

I laugh when I see some of the comments people who want to eat for less than $40pp in Hotels on the strip should go to the Buffet not in fine dinings.\r Friends recomended Shibuya to us last year, we've been 2 times since, our experience was amazing every time. We must say both time Shibuya was better than well known highly rated Nobu and other praised sushi places.\r Great flavors, textures, amazing presentations of innovative food did it for us ( if some classic like Miso black cod, spicy rock shrimp tempura, california roll are there "" I imagine it is a must have to please the tipical demanding spoiled American customers"") \r Even so it seems a bit pushy at times service was good ""nowadays waiters are vendors more than servers, but thay had great sake and food knowledge, it seems like there is something for everyone with differents taste and wallet's budget, we have eaten great a la carte for aroud $80 each before. They had a $58 menu that seemed to be of great value but decided to go for the $130 Omakase tasting ""worse every pennies"", well balance with very fresh sashimi dressed with special sauces, signature hot dishes top notch (hard to find in any Japanese restaurant) well executed dishes ""we understood when the server told us they have a French executive chef that teamed up with Japanese master sushi chef"". This place must do over 600 covers but still pulled of such a great performance with timing, presentation and quality of about 14 dishes in 7-8 courses, we ate in 1 hours and 20 minutes, well delivered as we mentioned we where going to a Show. I guess a Chef that can pull this off in those conditions is a true master of his trade, the restaurant was packed. Michelin guide must have forgotten to visit there as it is was far better than a lot for Japanese one michelin star we've been to a New-York and Los Angeles. \r \r Pros: Spectacular Food Cons: Noisy more

just ok 10/20/2008

Great atmosphere and service. The Lobster Bisque was outstanding but the steak was not good at all cooked very well done when I asked for medium and it had a Whole lot of pepper on it. I do not recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a good steak. TOURIST TRAP Pros: LOBSTER BISQUE Cons: STEAK more

Not your ordinary mexican fare 9/28/2008

I'm not an expert on mexican food. I don't love it. But this place made everything right. We had a certificate or two, so we weren't particularly mindful of our budget. We were able to sample a variety of things and were pleasantly pleased with it all. The waitstaff was wonderful. We got there late and most of the crowds had left, so perhaps they could spend more time with us. Whatever. Maybe that's a tip. Anyway, it was a memorable meal and evening out for us. more

one of the best on the strip! 9/18/2008

After reading some of the previous reviews about Seablue, I was a little worried when I learned it would be a stop on my recent trip to vegas. I was absolutely blown away with my experience! We arrived and were sat promptly in an over-sized booth with a view of the open kitchen. Our server was fantastic and seemed to have an answer for every question asked. She recommended the Octupus app., Seafood Paella, and the Loup de Mer. All were great, but the Octupus was nothing short of perfection! Tenderized in yogurt, you could cut it with your fork! I wasnt impressed with decor, a little cartoonish with big, HUGE red drum-looking light fixtures hanging above our table. However, I was there to enjoy the food, not the decorations. Pros: food, service Cons: decoration more

~~~ Rouge ~~~ 8/11/2008
~~~ I was very impressed at the serenity I felt there myself. The seating is a few typical close quarters tables close to the bar and the mellow but striking redlights were the best I've deen since my best friends party garage. Along the walls there was close to the ground Middle Eastern type of lounging furniture. It was totally cool having my room down the corridor from it. Simply put it reminded me of a Oriental Opium Den on some movie set. :P Pros: The guests are what made it pleasant. Cons: (n/a) I'm a LV Virgin. I sure have been reading a lot of negatives about the MGM though! more

Weak storyline; great special effects and stunts 7/27/2008

I guess I went to this show expecting something more spectacular. There were a few scenes that were pretty amzaing. But the story line was so weak it was hard to follow and understand. A few unneeded characters ...would have liked to have seen more pyrotechnics during the show and more arial stunts over the audience. The floating rotating stage was amazing...still trying to figure that one out. Could use a finale overhaul. Pros: Stage technology was amazing Cons: Too expensive for what you get out of the show. more

Loved it! 7/9/2008

I don't know what the people below with bad reviews are talking about! The food here was amazing. Everything from the foie gras to the scallops to the kobe was impeccable! I would eat here every night if I could afford it... absolutely delicious! Pros: Food was delicious! Cons: High price more

Routine 7/2/2008

I have eaten many times at MGM's Grand Buffet, their breakfast is great!!!!!!!!!!! However, for lunch and dinner they serve the same thing over and over and over without change. That's a problem, because many people would like variety on a daily basis for lunch and dinner. Pros: Great Breakfast Cons: Same thing daily for lunch and dinner more

Lousy 7/2/2008

Save your money and don't go to this overpriced restaurant. If you want trashy food go to the trash bend, it's fresher and you know what you are getting and you don't have to pay for it it's free......................... Pros: Food is over priced Cons: You don't know what you're getting it smells bad like its from the trash more

Skip this restaurant 6/25/2008

No, no, no. Spend your money ( a lot of it ) elsewhere. We are from Houston, and we know Mexican (& Tex-Mex) food. We also know good food. This place does not have it. The ambiance and service were OK, otherwise the rating would be one star. Everyone was disappointed with their entrees. I opted for the chef's 'Taster' (sample platter) of four dishes: sea bass (decent, though slightly overcooked), beef tenderloin (uninspired and bland lying atop some sort of odd bland paste), ceviche (this was the worst - almost nothing but cabbage/lettuce that tasted fishy - I'm not kidding), and fingerling potatoes (good, but are boiled potatoes really something a great chef puts on display?). Our complaints were all similar. The food was bland or ordinary. I can get a better meal from a chain restaurant in Houston. I rarely write restaurant reviews, but the degree of disappointment was so high, I just had to vent a bit. Choose a different restaurant in Vegas. Cons: Food more

Right in line with MGM's overall standards. 6/14/2008

One of the better resort buffets on the strip. With the competition fierce for the $20+ that most of the top buffets charge on the strip, MGM's is still one of the best. They have an entire aisle dedicated to seafoods and shellfish. We've been there repeatedly over the past few years. Highly recommendable. Pros: Spacious, short wait to get seated. Variety of offerings. Cons: Same as most buffets, having to witness the intense grazing methods of human herefords @ buffets. more

terrible 6/12/2008

Too many complaints to list... my husband is a chef at one of the top restaurants in the country so he of all people should be able to pick out flaws in a meal but seriously, anyone could have noticed the problems with our meal. We had reso's for 5:30 when the restaurant opened and arrived on time but the hostess had us stand in the hall for nearly 15 minutes waiting to seat us, I still can't figure that out. So called sommelier couldn't tell me what WTW (white table wine) or RTW (red table wine) on the by the glass list meant, ha! Lobster $70 overcooked so that it was rubber, Kobe beef skirt steak $70 ordered mid-rare came out well done. Risotto was blah and mushy. Server to casual.....Whole experience was a let down and waste of money. If Tom sat at our table that night would he have approved? Pros: we can say we at at Tom Colicchio's restaurant Cons: not worth it more

Great Mexican Cuisine 6/2/2008

This was the first restaurant we ate at upon arriving at MGM. It's not your ""typical"" mexican food but it was awesome. They come out with chips and 2 different types of salsa and a serving of pico de gallo. They also have 3 seasoning dishes that you can season your meals with. My boyfriend ordered ate the pork and I had chicken tacos al carbon. I don't think the portions were small as the last review said. We went through alot of chips so by the time the food came we couldn't even finish our food - the chips were awesome! Our food was great and the waiter was great as well. He explained everything they had and answered all of our questions. It was a little pricey - about $80 for our 2 entrees. But I'd eat there again because I LOVE mexican food and they have great food and service. Pros: Great food, good service, GREAT chips and salsas Cons: A little pricey more

GREAT Italian Food!! 6/2/2008

My boyfriend and I dined there on Saturday night and all we both had to say about the food is that it was AMAZING!! We started off with the Mozzarella salad - tomatoes and mozzarella - and it was delicious. He had the Raviollini which had rib meat and it was hands down the best raviollini I've ever had. I ate the Spaghetti with the Kobe meatballs and it was awesome as well. We sat at the bar before being seated and the bartenders were wonderful, the waiter we had was ok but the rest of the staff was very attentive and the ambiance was great. I'd highly recommend this place if your looking for some great italian food. The check wasn't too bad either - it was about $70 for 2 entrees and an appetizer - no drinks. Well worth every penny though. We'll definitely be back when we go to Vegas again. Pros: Food - my boyfriend has been to Italy and loved this food, Drinks (at the bar were great!) Cons: Nothing more

Avoid Shibuya at MGM 5/28/2008

My wife and I celebrated our aniversary at Shibuya Restauratnt at MGM and then went to see Robin Williams perform on 5/25/08. After the show my wife came down with serious lower intestinal problems. The next morning I came down with the same malady. We spent 200.00 at Shibuya and I wanted the restaurant to know they had served some tainted food to prevent it from happening again. I called MGM customer service who took the information and promised the restaurant manager would call. Nothing........ Will not go back to this overpriced dirty restaurant. Pros: Location Cons: Service and quality of food more

Worth a try 5/14/2008

Phenominal. Stopped by for a last minute dinner with a bachelor party. I decided on this restaurant because the menu, while not huge, had a variety of flavors to offer. We had a broad range of diners, some very picky eaters and others with polished palates. Fiamma had something for everyone in our party. \r \r Everyone thought their entree was exceptional except for one who, while he enjoyed it, was not overwhelmed by his spaghetti and kobe meatballs. Our waiter, David, was more than educated on the dishes, and offered recommendations that didn't disappoint. \r \r Prices are reasonable for the location. The only thing I was surprised at was that no manager touched the table despite us having a large party and the restaurant being only at a quarter capacity. I work at a fine dining establishment and our managers touch every table at least once even on 500+ cover nights. I realize that we weren't dropping a mortgage payment and going for a three-course dinner as many in our party were on a budget, but having a manager stop by is the quickest way to get me to come back and go all out next time. \r \r Hostesses and bartenders were more than welcoming. Pros: Broad range of flavors in a moderate sized menu. Delicious entrees. more

All glitz, not much else.... 5/11/2008

The food was okay and the setting truly Las Vegas. But they really push the saki. No problem there, but being a novice when it comes to saki, I asked the waiter for assistance. By his reaction you would have thought I was asking him to solve a complex math problem. He got very flustered and abrupt. From there, it was a downhill experience. Pros: Ambiance Cons: Brusque service, overpriced food more
