I've brought my cat there for the Lion Cut. She had it for a few summers. Last summer, they never called to tell me that she was ready to be picked up. finallty I called them and they said, oh yeah, she;s ready.\r When I picked her up, they had her in her carrier under the desk and she had a bowel movement, which shows me that she had been sitting there for a long time... no one bothered to call... she's JUST a cat!\r This year, I found everyone there from the girl behind the front desk, right on back to the groomers to be rude and nasty. The cut was awful, I heard her crying from the otherside, The groomer comes out and just shoved her into her cage and said ""she's difficult"". Yeah well, she;s a cat, she;s scared, she;s old and has a heart condition.\r Never ever again, will I bring her back there. I didnt like the blond groomer at all. She had a real attitude problem. Maybe she shouldn't be in this business where she's handling other peoples pets\r more

LOVE THIS PLACE WILL KEEP COMING BACK 5/11/2011

They are so great here they give dogs and cats great haircuts . Not just great hair cuts they give hairstyle to your dog I really love the cut they gave to my dog and my cat got a cut that makes him look lion like. So great to get the hair out my house and my clothing and stuff. They really love animals here and look to make you and them happy. I bring my cat and dog here they love to go there now to my surprise . My dog is kind of antisocial but seems to like the people there he loves the young girl who cuts his hair . I been to other groomers in brooklyn area and no other shop compared to this one . If your looking for a great groomer and nice people who care about your pets this is the place . :) :) :) more

Pretty Good! 6/12/2010

I took my cat in for a lion cut; it was her first experience with groomers, and she was very nervous. The staff was very kind and patient with her, though, and evidently had a way with her because they told me she'd been a good girl -- not what I expected from her! The cut itself is not as good as I'd hoped. There are visible razor lines, and there's a spot on the shoulder where the razor almost nicked the skin. Overall, though, it's pretty serviceable, especially considering it took less than an hour total. They only take cats at 8 am, though. Pros: Quick turnaround, kind staff Cons: Small waiting area, only take cats in early A.M. more

never go back 10/27/2008

i went to paws and claws and i asked for the owner shes never there ..... the lady that grooms my dog just had a child the other young women there does not know how to talk to customer and i saw her get so nasty with new customers and where was the boss.. as far as the hair cut i will never go back .... Great Place 4/16/2008

I brought my cat here after refusing service at Fins Fur Feathers in the 90's . They wanted to charge me up front and leave my cat there for hours and they wouldn't let me wait or watch. Paws and Claws did not charge up front, and they did let me stay and wait for her so I know nothing was going on. Not that I knew about it then, but with the charges of abuse at Fins Furs Feathers, Now I'm so glad I came here instead. They did a great job on Smokey and didn't mind that I wanted to be there while they did it. Pros: watch while you wait service, great job Cons: pricey, hard to get an appt. more

Best groomers that there is. I will and have traveled far just to bring my babies here! 2/24/2008

I have been using Paws N Claws for over 10 years. I cannot imagine using anyone else. They are kind and gentle. When I moved to NJ I still came to them to bring my cats. They are quick & follow directions perfectly. All I have to say is that they are the best around. I am a vet. Tech. and I have my own pet sitting business. (Minnette's Petsitting 631-796-2176 - Brooklyn Only). I am very choosey. I have sick animals, and they handle them wonderfully. If u want a reliable groomer, then this is the place. more

A great place for your pet to come home sick 8/2/2007

They're very pleasant here and do lots of business, but that may be because there isn't any competition anywhere nearby. Pets leave perfectly happy, but in the two years I brought my Persian here, perhaps a third of the time he came home sick...a cold...a worm...whatever. They charge as of 7/07 about $80 for a wash and cut for a Persian cat, and then you get to pay for the Vet. I won't be going back. Pros: Polite, 2 hr turnaround for cats Cons: Only take cats in the early morning, don't think they sterilize equipment between each pet more

Did the previous reviewers bother to check this place's name, address and category (""grooming"")?\r This ""Paws 'n' Claws"" place on Bay Ridge Ave. is NOT the ""Paws and Claws"" vet in Williamsburg: It's a totally unrelated grooming shop, and is at least 7 miles away from that Williamsburg vet. Probably the only ""medical"" thing this place does is to sell anti-itch shampoo.\r I tried this groomer, and found them okay, but much too hectic and crowded. Your mileage may vary. But, people -- at least review the right business in the right place, instead of tagging a groomer as a bad vet! Pros: Neighborhood place, well-meaning staff Cons: Hectic and often overbooked more

Terrible Vets! 4/23/2007

I have been to Paws and Claws several times, due to the convenience of it being in our neighborhood. Everytime I'm there, its clear that they are not only very unknowledgable of my pet, but they are also uncaring and rude. Our visit last week will be our last one. Its worth the trip to Manhattan to avoid undue stress to your pet. Cons: Rude and uncaring Vets and staff more

I've been here a hnadful of times, and the customer service is awful. they never called with my dog's test results, and i had to chase them down for answers- 3 days after my dog came in with a terrible problem...they have yet to return my call. terrible terrible. more
