After getting your car stolen, you get to pay Pat's 4/29/2010

After having my car stolen and recovered by the Somerville Police, the car was found by the police and towed to them by Pat's. After the Police carried out their investigation, they towed it back to Pat's and they then proceeded to charge me for their tow to the police (even though the police had told me I would not have to pay). I tried to clear this before hand and had nothing but rude sexist responses on the phone from various male employees at Pat's. When I got there, the dispatcher ""PJ"" demanded that I apologize to his co-worker as a condition of clearing my car. I finally had to call the police to come and assist me in order to BE ABLE to pay them the $158 they demanded. Why do these people get a city contract to abuse their residents and taxpayers in this way??? Pros: ..... Cons: Treat you with derision and contempt more

They Towed My Car, Obviously 6/16/2009

I've had my car towed several times from Cambridge, either for street cleaning or snow emergencies. I'm not from the area so there's no where else for me to park. Anyway, I've never had a problem with the tow place. You CAN pay with a credit card, it's not far from mass transit and it was quick and painless. No one likes getting their car towed, but I don't have any complaints about these guys. Pros: Never had a problem Cons: It's in Somerville more

I can't beleive they get away with this! 5/3/2009

The Somali pirates will be glad to know their trade of choice is alive and well in Somerville Massachusetts.\r \r My experience was similar as well. The only reason I rated one star is because I coulden't find the negative 5 star button. more

get what you pay for... 12/19/2008

I had a similar experience of rudeness with them as well. Add to the this story the fact that you can only get a maximum of $100 out of their ATM, with a large fee. All their tows are going to cost more, so you have to make a second transaction, with another large fee. This place is so sketchy, I would avoid it at all costs. Something about an all cash business that stinks worse than the wharf in near the Aquarium on a 90 degree day. I am sure Whitey Bulger once worked there. But chances are if you are having to deal with them, you parked illegally and deserved to be towed in the first place... Pros: at least your car wasn't stolen... Cons: yes, this place is full of them. the kind with prison tatoos and shower loving more

BEWARE! 10/28/2008

My fiance was towed by Pat's Tow Service in Somerville. First, when my fiance called to see if his car was at Pat's tow lot he got a confirmation from someone that the car was their and was quoted a price. Then he heard swearing and yelling in the background and was hung up on. So, he called back to confirm his car was there and the cost to get it out to which he was quoted a completely different price. When he got there he saw the price that he was first quoted prominently posted and asked about why he was being charged another price to which the person said the price on the wall is for police towing. The employee did not explain that they have different prices for police towing and other towing and we had to ask to understand why our rate was not the ""police rate"" to which we got very short unhelpful answers. Once we paid the cashier we were given incorrect change (they ONLY accept cash) and we had to ask for the correct change which was just met with a belligerent comment.\r \r We go out to the car only to find there was damage done to the car. So my fiance went back in to talk to someone about the damage to which, not surprisingly, they denied they were responsible for. So my fiance asked for names of managers and people at the company he could talk to settle this. What ended up happening is one of the employees who said he was the manager ended up physically grabbing my fiance and pinned him against a wall and made physical threats and then when my fiance said he was calling the police that employee ran away down the street. All the other employees present for what happened started to cover up for what took place by saying that the guy was not an employee but just a customer and that they did not know who he was etc...\r \r The bottom line is that if this place was at all reputable and believed they were not responsible for the damage they would have found a way to settle the dispute without physically assaulting the customer. \r \r Cons: Unethical operation more
