Warming Food in Sunset 11/1/2002

Went to Park Chow for early dinner after trip to Golden Gate Park. Friendly service. Great Beer. I had the Thai Noodles, wife had Smile Noodles. Both were delicious. Nice warm meal for the chill outside. Pros: Friendly Service, Reasonable Price more

Yummy Chow! 10/17/2002

This is a great, non-expensive restaurant. It's like going home when you are at Park Chow. The service is friendly, the food is good, with daily specials and great diversity (even for vegetarians like me), and the best part is the reasonable prices! I've taken everyone here - my parents, my friends, and my boyfriend, and everyone feels good here. In the wintertime, try to sit next to the fireplace. more

eclectic comfort food 10/8/2002

I agree this is a spot for some eclectic ""comfort food""... cob salads, calamari/garbanzo bean appetizers/spaghetti with serious meatballs/thai nooldes/etc. The added bonus... heat lamps in the upstairs area. My only disappointment was the length of the menu. It was a little shorter and limited than I expected. But one once you taste the food, you'll realize they focus on quality, not quantity. Enjoy. more

Modern and relaxing 10/3/2002

The place is not too formal , but it can be a place just to hang out casually with friends but also a little dressed up if going on a date etc. The food is great and not expensive. The restuarant has it's own unique things about it. Such as the waiters dress just like any other person...utensils are in a little can on your table andyou can get which ever one you need. Most importantly everyone is NICE and FRIENDLY!!! ( beutiful upper level w/ heat and can see the stars) Pros: people are nice, atmosphere is calm, not too expensive Cons: bad parking, crowded, loud kitchen more

GInger cake rocks! 9/24/2002

Great food all around. But there is one thing that is outstanding. Ginger cake with Pumpkin ice cream. YUM! I literally dream of it some nights. Great place to have a relaxed meal with friends or with a date. more

Great brunch 9/24/2002

This place is great for weekend brunch and a beer. The upstairs outdoor area for some reason gets good sun even in the cold foggy inner sunset. Pros: outdoor seating Cons: long wait more

Loved It 9/23/2002

Wow! I was very impressed. My boyfriend and I had lunch and dessert on Saturday for under $25. It was so good and cheap! I highly recommend this place, very quaint, good space, comfortable and excellent meals. The bread pudding was better than my grandmothers. I am definitely going back soon. Pros: Food, Price, Atmosphere more

Nice Comfort Food 9/7/2002

Everyone seems to rave about this place, and it certainly is nice as a whole package (food, value, menu, service, ambience). However, the food is really nothing special. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Difficult Parking, Crowded more

mmm, mmm good 8/28/2002

excellent array of food, the minestrone and the fish specials are a must. good service, prompt seating in a very comfortable atmosphere. more

Oh yes! 8/25/2002

Though not strictly a vegetarian restaurant, this is a great place to go for vegetarian comfort food. Lots of choices--grilled veggies with garlic mashed potatoes, pizzas, pastas. Lots of equally wonderful choices for non-vegetarians as well. Fresh seafood. Draft beers, real lemonade...Ambience is WOW and prices are LOW! How do they do that? Pros: inexpensive, friendly service, up-scale Cons: parking a problem more

Yummy! 8/15/2002

I found this place on CitySearch and decided to check it out. It's a friendly neighborhood restaurant with plenty of tasty burgers, pastas, and pizza. It's inexpensive. I love the fireplace, especially when it's cold and foggy outside. Pros: Inexpensive, Tasty, Good parking more

Everything You Could Need 8/12/2002

Whatever your tastes, they have something on the menu for it, and that's comforting. Everything is warm and fuzzy and makes you feel like mom just cooked it, from the Italian Pasta dishes to the Thai noodle dishes to the Meat Entrees. And remember that there's nothing more comforting than their pie! The atmosphere makes me feel like I'm in a log cabin in the mountains. Pros: atmosphere, fireplace Cons: Parking is limited, sometimes crowded more

Good Food @ Good Value 7/30/2002

The food is usually good, especially the fish of the day. The apple cider is good to have during cold days. The service varies. Sometimes it is fast; other times is very slow. Almost every time we go it's crowded and loud. It looks like a good place for a romantic date, but usually too noisy to take someone there. Cons: difficult parking more

Dee-lish! 7/22/2002

I recently dined at Park Chow for an early dinner and was quite pleased. The food was delicious, and who can argue at their inexpensive prices? The atmosphere was cozy, and there was lots to choose from on the menu. The ginger cake w/ pumpkin ice cream rocked, and so did the Thai chicken salad. This place is a must! And last but not least, ask for Chris when you're there. He's a great server and bartender!!! Pros: great ambience, great value, friendly staff more

tongue chow 7/20/2002

Great staff - great food for the whole family and friends ! Pros: Great Location, Attentive service, tasty pasta dishes ! more

One of the best 6/26/2002

I have been to Park Chow over 20 times since it opened and the service has always been good. The food is good is as well. I recommend it to anyone. I wish more restaraunts were run as well as this place. more

Neighborhood's fave 6/12/2002

Very good food and you have your choice of dining atmospheres whether it be the upstairs patio or by the fireplace. Service has always been excellent except for the space cadet who served us last time. She wasn't bad, but seemed like she was on tranquilizers. Go for the daily sandwiches, or choose from their entrees or grilled delights. Love it like your own. more

Awesome service & comfort food! 5/21/2002

On a recent visit the server accidentally poured the meal on my lap. The manager and the waiter profusely apologized and offered to pay for drycleaning. The manager also provided the meal free of charge and sent a gift certificate with our dry cleaning reimbursement. This is exceptional service. The staff really makes you feel at home and is never snobby. We continue to go back at least once a week. The food is always delicious, fresh, and a great deal. The ginger cake and fresh salmon is my favorite. Pros: Great service, Fresh food, Good value Cons: Poor parking more

Friendliest Service in SF 5/19/2002

I love this place. Before I moved from SF, I used to go there at least once a week. The food is good, not great, but the prices are more than reasonable. Just a comfortable atmosphere with above and beyond friendly service. A total 'go-to' spot for a guarenteed good-meal everytime. Pros: good food, friendly service, good portions more
