Best

Don't be shy, it just seems pretentious from the name. It is a wine bar, but you could walk in wearing anything from a little black dress to a t-shirt and jeans and feel comfortab...

Laid back 4/9/2006

Paris on the Platte is great for people watching. I wish there were more independent coffee houses like this one (and fewer Starbucks, whose proliferation in Denver is truly alarming). Unfortunately, the service at Paris on the Platte was lacking last time I visited. There was only one server, who had trouble managing the many customers who needed coffee at the same time as me. Espresso drinks and coffees alike are available in large and small pitchers, as well as in cups. That is a nice touch for those of us for whom one cup is never enough. This coffee house also serves light food and desserts. more

The BEST Coffee Place in Denver! 2/2/2006

If you like coffee, good food, late nights, and an eclectic mix of people, then Paris on the Platte is the coffee shop for you. Paris is one of the few places in town that I know of that serves coffee late into the night (unless you count Denny’s, which I don’t), as well as one of the few places in town that has truly free internet access – wireless AND hardline hookup. People of all types walk through their doors – you’ll see business people with laptops mixed in with kids with crazy hair. Although Paris used to have a used bookstore in one side of their unit, that space has been turned into a wine bar. Paris is one of my favorite places to go and write, particularly after attending events that I’m reviewing – it has just the right amount of chatter and hustle-bustle, and no one bothers you! more

What can I say.. This coffee-shop rocks! 1/31/2006

Paris on the Platte is just awesome. Great coffee drinks, great menu, and fabulous deserts. 1. They've got really delicious Chai Tea (they brew it themselves, unlike alot of places in Denver). 2. Sandwich menu is really great. Veggie Melt has really tasty spicy guacamole, and all their dishes are original in some way or another. 3. Tons of seating, with outside areas in the front and rear of the building. 4. Wireless Ethernet and wired ethernet ports everywhere (telecommuter's dream!) Internet access is free. 5. Great music. Sometimes they play entire albums nonstop. No lame radio, no commercials. 6. Great art. The art on the walls changes frequently, too. 7. Great hours. Stays open late on weeknights and weekends. I just love this place. more

A Cafe Lover's Paradise 8/19/2005

Paris on the Platte is the ideal cafe - not only does it serve a strong cup of coffee, but it also makes good sandwiches, pizzas, salads and soups. More impressive, in a town that shuts down relatively early, Paris is open until 1 AM on weeknights and 3 AM on weekends. It keeps going strong into the wee-hours of the morning, fueled by espresso, yummy pastries, shakes, malts, and young artists pondering the meaning of life while they browse through books or scribble notes in journals. It features live music some nights, and its owners have recently opened a wine bar next door, open from 4:30 PM until 2 AM. In spite of these nocturnal hours, Paris opens bright and early, serving strong espressos, lattes and chai teas to those off to the office, lunch to downtown employees looking for a change of pace and continuous caffeine to students looking for an alternative place to write their exams and dissertations. All in all, a funky, eclectic mix that's just what Denver need. more

The Antithesis of Starbucks 8/19/2005

One of the true coffee shops in Denver, Paris on the Platte is truly unique and stylish, sporting original art on the walls available to buy. The staff is somewhat pretentious, but that is part of the feel of a place where a very eclectic assortment of people mingle. The coffee is roasted fresh and made strong for a nice kick to keep you up all night. The food is above average and the service is fair, but again this is place that is all about ambience and meeting people. more
