Paris on the Platte is the ideal cafe - not only does it serve a strong cup of coffee, but it also makes good sandwiches, pizzas, salads and soups. More impressive, in a town that shuts down relatively early, Paris is open until 1 AM on weeknights and 3 AM on weekends. It keeps going strong into the wee-hours of the morning, fueled by espresso, yummy pastries, shakes, malts, and young artists pondering the meaning of life while they browse through books or scribble notes in journals. It features live music some nights, and its owners have recently opened a wine bar next door, open from 4:30 PM until 2 AM. In spite of these nocturnal hours, Paris opens bright and early, serving strong espressos, lattes and chai teas to those off to the office, lunch to downtown employees looking for a change of pace and continuous caffeine to students looking for an alternative place to write their exams and dissertations. All in all, a funky, eclectic mix that's just what Denver need.
