Korean Super Market - the place you can find lots of Korean food 10/16/2005

I would say Palama Super Market offer its customers a wide range of Korean food and other ingredients that any other super markets have. In another word, Palama Super Market is not just a super market that specilize in asian food, but they specialize on Korean food. Their shop is pretty bright, neat and clean. they also have a little Korean food court in thier super market. I like thier meat section. they have a pretty good&fresh short ribs, ribs eye, and a lot more that perfect for BBQ. If you want to do BBQ outside on the weekend, Palama super market is the good place that you can get all kind of meat and ingredients for Korean BBQ. I also like thier Kim Chee bar as well. They have different kind of Kim Chee and vegetables that you normally on-the side when you have Korean BBQ. I love their Tae-Gu... I'm really addicted to it! so Yummy. .can't help it! However, the price is a bit pricey that other super market and parking lot is kind of limited. But, i hope you will enjoy shopping at Palama super market. I still ike to go there once in a while. Enjoy! more

kim chee bar 8/17/2005

This store carries so many varieties of Korean food yet I have no clue what to do w/most of it since I cannot read Korean. What I can read is their kim chee bar though. It's self-service and they have a wide variety of the delectable Korean staple that is made in-house. While I stay clear of the weirder varieties like squid (guts presumably) the won bok and dried daikon varieties are quite good. You can sample them before you buy if you ask (though many don't ask). In their refrigerated case, they have even more kim chee--some even from Korea and it's interesting to see puffed up packages or containers of them because of the gases released by the still fermenting kim chee. When there, try the kim bap (a korean form of maki sushi) at their little takeout restaurant area. While not the best thing ever, it's still quite good and they sell alot of it. more
