Oscar is AMAZING! My mom had gotten her 25 yr wedding anniversary upgrade from Oscar. I had gotten a right hand ring which I'd custom designed on the spot and in weeks Oscar had it for me. It was beautiful! So of course when it came time for my engagement ring Oscar's was a no brainer. However I am currently living in Germany with my fiance. So before our scheduled vacation to Cali I'd done my research and found what I wanted. Oscar just happened to have a Simon G. engagement set that I'd seen other places and fell in love with. I e-mailed Oscar directly about wanting the ring, my ring size and the possible center stones I wanted. I knew I wanted a .50 -.75 carat, F, VS1-VS2, in either a round or cushion cut. When we got there Oscar had the ring waiting. Along with a few stones within my specifications. We are expecting our first baby and our budget was low. Oscar took all of the stones away and came back with a ""perfect diamond"" .53 carats, SI2, D. The stone is cut so perfectly that it looks like a kaleidoscope inside with hearts and arrows. Oscar gave us the diamond. The diamond was set while we were at lunch and I was able to wear it for most of the vacation. I couldn't believe it or be happier. The quality of the diamond is more than I could have ever expected or asked for. It is just stunning! Oscar didn't have to give us such a high quality diamond for the low price we were limited to but he did and I couldn't be more grateful. I LOVE MY RING!! more

We went down to the Jewelry district to upgrade my wife's 25 year old wedding ring with bigger and better diamonds. They retained the unique design of her wedding set but increased the total diamond weight by over 400%. It looks great and she is very happy. Oscar and his staff were outstanding and even stayed late to finish the job. more

I found Oscars randomly through Craigslist. Anyone who had 17 very positive reviews must be good, I thought. Turns out, the collective ""thumbs up"" was on the money. I wanted to get a pearl bracelet interspersed with peridot for my wife's 30th (and to commemorate our first born due in August). Unfortunately, I had put off shopping until two days before her bday. I called Oscar for help. He had me come down asap. Not only did he come up with the perfect manifestation of this concept (with lusterous pearls and peridot stones), but he somehow managed to get the bracelet back to me the next day, in time for my wife's birthday. I've never written a testimonial for a business on Citysearch before, but I was so impressed with my experience that I signed up just to write this review, so other emergency jewelry shoppers can know that help is out there. Oscar is the most honest, caring and respectable jeweler I have ever met. My fiance and I went ring shopping together and we both pride ourselves on being good judges of character. After we met Oscar, I told him that we had met ""our jeweler"" b/c although we did not find the ring of our dreams that day in the store, I knew he was someone we could trust to be honest and forthright with us. We had been shopping for two months already at this time and had met tons of jewelers, none of whom offered the reasonable prices, high quality diamonds AND honest service that Oscar did.\r \r Two months later, my fiance got down on bended knee and asked me to marry him. No joke, the first words out of my mouth were, ""My ring is so beautiful!"" \r \r Oscar had personally designed the most beautiful ring for us. After having been ring shopping for so long, my fiance knew exactly what I wanted, and asked Oscar to make it. Oscar's craftsmanship is pure excellence. You can just tell that he treats his rings like pieces of artwork that have to be of exceptional quality and perfection. He prides himself in it. \r \r My fiance and I met approx 30 different jewelers. The nature of our profession has trained to be very detail oriented, skeptical of information presented to us, and numbers oriented. We found that Oscar far surpassed other jewelers on the basis of quality of loose diamonds, reasonableness of price, and honest service. His loose diamonds were higher in quality or equivalent to the high-end stores we visited and his prices were about $8-$10K lower than stores that rhyme with Piffany's and Tartier if you catch my drift. It all depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for rock bottom prices, you won't find them at Oscar's b/c his dedication to quality doesn't allow him to be your price-breaker discount dealer. However, if you're an intelligent consumer, you'll find that Oscar is a dream come true. I hope you've found this helpful. Wow!! My fiance and I just picked up our engagement rings today and we are ecstatic. We designed the rings with Oscar and they turned out better than we could have ever imagined. His attention to detail is incredible and he put extra work into making sure that our rings were perfect. He really went above and beyond and did way more than we'd expected when making our rings. My fiance got my engagement ring (and diamond) there and I loved it so much that we decided to get our bands there. Their stuff is incredible, and if you want to create your own jewelry or customize something, they will make sure you get exactly what you want. It's a family run business and everyone is really nice. They take pride in their work and it really shows. Come here if you want a beautiful ring from wonderful people! Pros: wide variety, excellent quality, custom jewelry, great price, very friendly Cons: Parking downtown can be a pain and expensive. Go on Saturday or Sunday and park under the building. My fiance, Erik, just surprised me with a proposal and the most exquisite engagement ring Saturday, June 21st.. Yahoooooo we're engaged!!! We are thrilled, amazed, and astonished with the ring that Oscar's created and co-designed (with my fiance). I have yet to meet my new beloved Jeweler, but Erik was completely impressed with their integrity, punctuality (had the ring ready when promised), friendly staff/customer service (Oscar called Erik today, Monday, to see how the proposal went and see how I liked the ring). \r \r It's Monday night and I've just written them a note to thank them for creating the most impressive ring that I have ever seen, I feel like royalty. I have been shopping for a ring for about 3 weeks. However, I was intense and researched why GIA why not GIA etc. The level of brain damage was further augmented when you read the fancy letter scheme from VS1 to VS2 to E to H. By the time I was done, I started developing a philosophical objection to even buying a ring!\r \r I called about 6 stores in the jewelry mart and got a lot of ""You need to come here"". This is asking for a quote for a diamond that I ""exactly"" asked for! Well - I finally landed on Oscar's planet :)!\r \r He was honest, straight forward, empathetic, a great sense of humor and above all fair. However, I was unimpressed with their salespeople and interactions, and also felt I wasn't getting the best deal for my money.The quality of Oscar's Design Jewelry is far better than I expected. Their ideal cut diamonds can be compared to fine jewelery stores such as Tiffany's, for an exceptional price. I'm a 28 years old man who had never written a customer feedback but I had to take the time to write this one. I bought a gorgeous engagement ring from Oscar's Design Jewelry. The entire experience was one of the best I have ever had. They made everything entirely too easy, from the selection of the stone to the setting . I had the ring in two days from the day I placed the order, amazing! I looked all over for a stone and setting which I thought was just right for me, but nothing came anywhere near what Oscar offered. Best of all my fiance absolutely loves the ring.
