Great Doctor! 6/28/2011

I saw Dr. Mercedes Payne, who was a down to earth and knowledgable physician. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and did not leave until all of my concerns were addressed. I did not wait long in the waiting room to see her, and she spent a good amount of time with me, unlike many doctors who are quick in and out. Her staff are organized and efficient, and there is a Quest Diagnostics phlebotomist and lab in the right in the office building, which I have never seen before. I was able to get some of my test results right away. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. more

Good General Practice in North Raleigh 12/27/2007

I've been a patient at North Raleigh Primary Care for almost 10 years now. They've been with my medical carrier for all that time, so I've never had to switch. They used to be located in a lousy building on Falls of Neuse across from Winston's, but moved sometime around 2000 to a new building on Green Rd. The location is further from my house, but quicker to get to. One other reviewer said something about Dr. turnover, and I'd have to agree that there have been quite a few changes, but the actual Dr's and PA's who have seen me one or twice a year since 98' have been thorough and nice to deal with. I've never had any problem with billing or scheduling. One time they couldn't squeeze me in for an appointment for an irregular heartbeat, so I wound up going to the Emergency Room at RCH which worked for the best anyhow. Any other time I've been able to get an appointment in a day or two as long as I was flexible to the time. Sick walk-ins take longer, but they managed to squeeze me in within an hour or 2. The office itself is pretty plain, but I'm not expecting a spa-like experience when I head to the Dr. anyhow. I'm just switching companies and they have a different provider, but I hope that NRPC is affiliated with the new company so I can maintain this same practice. Pros: Good Medical staff and Location Cons: Average wait time & Office staffing more

very unpolished 9/7/2007

The physicians are great and the Quest representatives are too, however billing appears to be outsourced to a company that doesn't actually submit claims to insurance. It's impossible to get a hold of anyone to resolve such issues. The MA's and desk assistants are less than pleasant. I've worked in may physician offices and this has substandard service quality and help. Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere Pros: Nic Docs and Lab Cons: Everything else more

North Raleigh Primary Care 8/10/2007

Do NOT go to this dr's office, it's horrible! They squeeze so many people in to an hour that you'll end up waiting over an hour to get in, the people at the desk are not very helpful, but mostly the doctors don't care about you as much as they care about how much $$ they can fit into their pockets. They will mess up your prescriptions and trying to get it fixed is a nightmare. Plus they change doctors there every few years so even if you get one you like, he or she will be gone soon and you'll just get placed with the latest. Save yourself a lot of hassles and avoid this place. more
