New York Moving Movers NYC

The entire staff at New York Moving - Movers NYC is extremely professional, prompt, and fast! They had no problems moving anything and I didn't hear one complaint about anything (I've had that happen with movers in the past). There were even times when I said I'd move something, and they suddenly appeared with a better box to move it in and said ""No problem! We can move it!"" My roommate and the moving truck left about a half an hour before I did, and when I got to my new house, they were almost done with the unloading! Their customer service over the phone was really friendly, as well. They told me about their hourly rates and offered me a price on the phone, and then followed up with emails and information for the move. The final price of $580 was only slightly over estimate too (with tip!). I would definitely recommend these New York movers to anyone who wants a fast, efficient service! more

I was so impressed with the guys from New York Moving - Movers NYC who performed my families move a short while ago. They were professional, and worked like a wel oiled machine, the speedily yet carefully packed our things and wrapped our furtinute. I was surprised how at ease I felt during the move, I really felt that my belongings were in good hands, all at a fair price! I was amazed with these guys. I estimated they would take about 6 or 7 hours, but they were done in 4 hours flat from door to door! I had many heavy boxes (lots of books) and for them it was a breeze. They came with 4 dollies and were in and out in no time. The TV, computer, mattress etc. were all wrapped up well by them at no extra charge. Fantastic guys, all strong, powerful, professional, courteous. I used movers a lot, but this company amazed me. Fist of all they came in time which is unusual for movers. Second of all, the were nice dressed and polite . Third of all, without any complain ( I had 3 flights walk up) they started to do their job. They finish a job twice faster then other movers. God bless you guys!!! \r I had to move an upright piano to the second floor. I called several piano moving companies but when they came and saw the job they refused to do it, claiming that stairway is too narrow. Active Moving, Inc was the only company which told me that they can to it and they did it. I was really really amazed by the work of piano movers. They are smart and strong. Unfortunately I just found out about this review from Sara. I feel that I need to protect the reputation of my company and explain exactly what happened . \r I believe, it is important to mention that it was the second time Sara used our company, which i am sure she would not do if she felt that we were not competent and the service we provided was inferior. The first time we moved her from Brooklyn to NYC in 2006. She paid $300, which is is our minimum charge. She did not give us any tips and we never asked for it. Next day she called and said that she felt sorry that she did not tip and asked me to pay each worker $20 each and promised to send me a check for it. I tipped my workers $60 dollars, but never received a check from Sara. \r A year later Sara called me to order a move within Manhattan. When we came she was not completely packed. Her clothes were all over the place, some in bags that were falling apart. To insure that everything arrives at the new location in good condition, it was necessary to put clothes into boxes, which cost Sara $45. When we were ready to leave, I could not start my truck, the starter was broken. Things Happen! I fixed the problem within 2 hours, by buying and changing the starter right there on the spot. Sara said it was not a problem, because she did not have the key to the new place anyway and needed some time to get it. She, of course, was not charged for this time. She paid the minimum charge of $300 plus the $45 for the boxes. Next to her new building the closest legal spot was 400 ft away, which would take more time to do the job. Sara asked us to double park the truck and took responsibility for any possible tickets. We got two parking tickets and when we finished the job she gave us a personal check to pay for them. In a few days Sara called and asked me for money back for the tickets. I said it was unfair of her to ask, but sent her the money back anyway. \r I am in this business for 10 years and it was my first complaint. I hope that hearing both sides of the story will help people to make a decision on who to trust. These guys are criminals!!!! First, they try to insist that I purchase their boxes for all of my clothing that was in bags. Second, they charged me for two parking tickets, which is ILLEGAL!!! Third, they refused to unload my belongings until I paid them in cash. Fourth, they refused to give me a bill of lading or a receipt, which is also illegal. more
