For those of you who want to enjoy a wonderful shopping experience from the moment you open the door go to Mohan's! I picked up a nice blue blazer and a few pairs of slacks for work and I am very happy with my purchase. I desperately needed some new additions to my wardrobe and now I look like a million bucks thanks to Mike, KJ and staff! I will be back in the near future. more

I decided to give Mohan's a shot after reading their article in the Wall Street Journal and am quite happy that I did. From the moment I opened the door I was treated with respect and kindness and was amazed at the office set up. I decided on 5 check pattern/stripe shirts to compliment my wardrobe and can not wait to receive them in about 4 weeks. I will possibly look at their suit selection on my next visit. Go ahead and give Mohan's a try and you will not be disappointed. more

I was recently in NY on a business trip and always heard good things about Mohan's so I wanted to see for myself. I am so happy I visited their office as I will be waiting for a few weeks for the 7 dress shirts and one navy fine stripe suit. I am looking forward to wearing these garments as they looked great and I will definitely be complimented once I wear them to the office. Simply put I will never buy another suit off the rack as I recently visited Mohan's and I am hooked! I browsed the laundry list of swatches and narrowed it down to a very good quality Super 140's and selected a pinstripe with pink stripe and a grey herringbone. I am very excited of picking these up in 4 weeks. If you need a nice suit I strongly suggest visiting Mohan's! They are very knowledgeable and will assist you and they are very patient with you whatever your needs maybe. more

I don't know why all these people are upset or have issues with this tailor but me and all my friends personally love this place. I highly recommend this place for someone who is very style concious and also who needs clothing for everyday business wear. The guys at Mohan's treat you like family if not more. It was my first time doing business with them since I've tried many other tailors in the City and none seem to be as good as them. I am a man of a lot of detail and precision along with having a good interest in fabrics and the cut. MohanTailors give you a bespoke fit, they first measure you for the suits and then call you in about 15 days for a rough fitting or what they call is a canvas fitting in which they completely trace your body for the fit. The same exact experience I got when I was in Saville Row except the only difference there was I paid $3,800 for a suit there and Mohan's gave me 3 suits and 6 shirts for about $3,000 all in. I not only recommend my colleagues but have personally brought my friends into their organization. They truly have great customer service and they address all the issues which needed to be fixed. If any of you on here do have problems I would highly recommend to get in touch with the guys. They will give you a Royal Treatment. more

They claim to have custom clothing at retail prices. They have it backwards. I bought shirts and suits. They use glue in their shirt collars, so the first time your shirt is exposed to the heat of an iron, the glue bleeds through, leaving a permanent ring. The shirts were tailored ok and the fabric was acceptable. They fit like shirts I buy off the rack and the fabric was as nice as a $50.00 shirt. Paid much more, however. The suits were terrible. When they arrived, I went in to try them on. They were way too big in the shoulders, chest, back, arm, arm length, waist, leg, and leg length. I wondered if they had given me the wrong order, but they were the fabrics I picked and my name was inside. I asked for some significant alterations, but they argued with most of my points (those that can't be properly fixed, like the sholders being a full 2 inches too wide on either side). After the alterations, I tried them on again and they still didn't fit. Mohan's staff insisted the fit was perfect. I took the suits home and ended up not wearing them because they looked so sloppy. I decided to try one more angle and take advantage of Mohan's policy of free alterations within the first year. I called to arrange an appointment, at which time I was told they can only alter for a change in 10 pounds of weight. Since the suits were made for someone a few inches taller, 25 pounds heavier, with 3 or 4 inches larger chest, I didn't bother. I now own 4 suits I don't wear. Save yourself the trouble and money. more

horrible experience. Ordered a suit in October - 2 1/2 months later I received a suit that was not constructed as advertised and totally didn't fit. Still awaiting "resolution" but not expecting much.\r \r Really terrible experience more

Bought Scabal three-suit package with shirts - should have walked when they said they were adding $400 to advertised price for ""shipping."" Suits came later than promised (I'm not in NY), were poorly made with ill-fitting linings and sub-standard fabric - and didn't fit at all! They didn't return my calls/emails. Went back in person for re-tailoring and to fix botched linings -- they messed that up too --and then tried to charge me for shipping suits back to me. Got some $ refunded to partially offset shipping and cost of retailoring near my home. I'm 6'6"" and have had many custom suits over the years -- this is a truly schlock operation. more

I've purchased suits and shirts at Mohan's on 2 occassions over the past 4 years. I've found the fit and tailoring to be fine. While I'm a bit sceptical of their seemingly inflated numbers for their "Super 200+" fabrics, the quality certainly stands up in comparison to suits I've purchased from Barneys. For the price, you get a great fitting suit (or shirt, slacks or jacket). These reviewers that complain about "scratchy" material and "poor fitting" suits must have another agenda. Really, you pick out the fabric beforehand, don't buy it if you don't like it. They have a mind-boggling selection of fabrics, perhaps the complainers picked out the cheapest selection? more

I got two suits made by Mohan way back (say, 15 years ago), and a few shirts made recently. I was disappointed both times. The suits were well cut and well designed, but the fabric was clearly not what it was advertised to be - they told me that it was super 150s wool, and it was labeled "wool/polyester", and felt synthetic. The shirts were not badly cut - a little larger than I would have liked, but certainly better than OTR. However, the loops for the hidden buttondowns were too small, which makes buttoning the collar a torturous process. The price was slightly better than the competition, but you can find comparable prices and better quality if you do your homework. more

The last review on here just goes to show that Mohan Tailors competitors will go to any length just to smear their name. I went to the office this past Saturday and was amazed by the office set up and staff. I must honestly say that the service was amazing and the quality of fabrics were extremely high end. I bought myself one suit and also got a great price! I actually did my research and checked up prices on the fabric and what the suits would cost. I must say I will be going back to get some more suits in the future and recommend this place to others. If you are looking for great quality, excellent service, and competitive prices you need not look further. Thank you for the great service!! I am extremely happy with Mohan. I ordered my 3 suits and 8 shirts. Got a really good deal. Came in for a second fitting. Came in to pick the up the suit and had some small alternations made at no additional charge. I got exactly what I wanted because they are based right in NY. A few years ago I had purchased a number of suits from a merchant (who will remain nameless) that is based in Hong Kong and requires a visit to a hotel room for purchase and fitting. I got my shirts and suits in the mail, nothing was really right and to get any changes was the biggest hassle that I ever experienced. I even had to pay a customs duty, to pick up the suits from the post office. If buying a custom suit you should get custom service (2 fittings + at least 1 alteration on final delivery) and if you are in New York, there is no reason to buy out of a trunk in a hotel. Go to guys tht have a permanent local presence. That is why I highly recommend Mohan. Alex more

Coming across their ad almost every other day in the New York times I decided to visit mohan tailors. Coming straight to the point the suits were the worst fitting ones I ever had. The ad boldly says super 150 and other qualities. I had ordered three super 150 suits, but when I got them they were even coarser than sandpaper. I felt itchy after wearing the suits. And I have not come to the fit yet. I have had off the shelf suits fit me far better than those made by mohan. I had also ordered some shirts, sea island cotton as advertised. Forget sea island cotton, I doubt if the material was just plain simple cotton, again as with the suits the fabric was itchy and the fit was not what I would call custom. I was told by Mike to come back for a refitting. I went back twice for the refitting but it never fit me. Already disappointed by the quality of the material used I never went back. Before going to mohan do a little research on the fabrics. Pros: stay away Cons: not what i expected more

the poorest quality material i have ever purchased. the fabric was definetly not super 180's..... secondly the shirts were not even the right measurements. for the price i was better off buying from a department store and having it tailored. usually the word custom means made to tailor the individual. I heard about Mohan's because I'm a hoops fan. These guys fitted some of the largest men in the world, including NBA's Manut Bol and Wilt Chamberlain. I'm like 6'2'', so I'm no giant, but these guys know their fitting. I was sick of jackets looking frumpy and pants looking like garbage bags. I go in here, and walk out with 2 suits (which only took about 10 days from measure to pick up). Mohan's is awesome. The legend is definitely true. Pros: precision measuring more

I remember being a kid and seeing my father wearing these really cool custom suits to work everyday. This was the mid 80's, and I remember everything about them. I asked him recently who made the suits he used to wear, and he said Mohan's. I stopped in, had 3 suits made...now we're talking. The fit is perfect, the customer service is 2nd to none. Not many people call me ""Doctor"" on a regular basis when I walk into a room, but that's Mohan's trademark. Stop in. These guys are the best. Pros: The best suits in NYC, fast service more
