Mohan's Custom Tailoring is simply the best in New York City. I have purchased three suits from Mohan's--all of them are perfect. Their selection and quality well surpasses any other retailer. With a shop like Mohan's Custom Tailoring, I wouldn't even consider a retailer such as Jos A Bank. \r \r Furthermore, I can't say enough about Mike and KJ's customer service and attention to detail. They have an old-world temperament that is built on relationships and trust, not sales and bargains. I will be a lifelong customer and ambassador for this business. more

Being rather on the heavy side, I've never had much luck with suits I bought in stores. You gave me excellent results. I've found my comfort zone. The workmanship and attention to detail on my suit order is worth positive feedback. "I've never been happy with off-the-rack shirts, in terms of fit or selection. Hugo Boss slimfit were the best fit I could find, but were over $100 and limited in fabrics/patterns. I started getting shirts made through Mohan's over 2 years ago and haven't bought anywhere else since. He has made me at least 12 shirts and two suits. They are better quality and custom fit, with hundreds of fabrics to choose from and several customization options. I've had many coworkers ask where I get my dress shirts, as well as comments on my 'going-out' weekend versions that are a bit more flashy. My $100+ department store shirts sit in the back of my closet now." more

I am extremely happy with my latest shopping experience at Mohan's on 42nd Street. I went in looking for a few dress shirts to compliment my casual business atire and I came out with 7 shirts and a nice blue blazer that is a perfect fit. I will be back in a few weeks to pick them up am looking forward to it. Thanks to Mike and his staff for taking good care of me. I will be back for more in the near future. more

I first came to Mohans several years ago, and have been returning on an annual basis ever since. All the staff are professional and knowledgable regarding fit and fabrics. I have purchased 6 suits, trousers and dozens of shirts. The quality has been good, and when the fit was not quite right they responded well and made corrections in their N.Y headquarters with one of the 3 excellent tailors on site. I would recommend Mohans to anyone who seeks quality and a well fitting garment. more

I have been referring clients of mine to shop at Mohan's as they never disappoint and always look amazing in their new threads. My friends as well have seen my suits and dress shirts and always give me compliments on how sharp I look. If you want to spruce up your wardrobe and add some nice suits and shirts go to Mohan's and ask for Mike or KJ and they will be gald to help you. more

Although I regularly read reviews on Citysearch, I have never posted one. However, my experience at Mohans was so atrocious that I felt compelled to warn potential customers of the poor quality tailoring and even worse customer service. I recently got married and went to Mohans to purchase a tuxedo for my special day. Sam was my salesperson, who is the nephew of Mr. Mohan. Sam is skilled in the art of the hard up-sell and made countless promises, none of which came to fruition. My dissatisfaction began at the outset. After receiving the hard up-sell, they provide you with a price quotation. Once you agree to the price, which is not cheap, they advise you moments prior to taking your credit card information that there is a delivery charge of several hundred dollars, which, depending on what you buy, could represent up to 30% of your purchase price. Prior to using Mohans, I used another custom tailor from Hong Kong and never paid more than $50-75 for shipping. I have since learned from other customers that this slick business practice is used regularly. After waiting almost two months for the garments to arrive from Hong Kong, I received a suit and tuxedo that had the incorrect lapel, did not fit my body at all and was constructed with incredibly poor workmanship - not to mention the sports jacket I had ordered never arrived despite being told over and over that it was on its way. Ultimately, it took no less than 12 fittings to get the suit and tuxedo to fit properly. I almost had to go to a department store the day before my wedding to buy a tuxedo because the one Mohans had promised 3 months earlier did not fit and their tailors could not figure out how to fix it. I wasted immeasurable time and energy traveling back and forth to Mohans only to receive garments that did not fit and be fed hollow promises. If you are considering using Mohans, do not use them. It was the single worst consumer experience I have ever had, hands down. more
