Minibar: Ultra Lounge & Caf?????

If that's your idea of a good time don't listen to me. Some people like that. But don't expect anyone to pay much attention if u aren't 22 and hung. more

So my friend Laura and I live right around the corner from Minibar and I must say, I had an amazing time. The servers were completely nice and attentive. We even were able to talk to the two owners, which I must add were sitting down, visting with the customers next us. The food was very presentable. The prices were great, also. I recommend the breakfast burrito, blue cheese salad, and the ginger cheesecake. Pros: Great everything Cons: There is nothing to complain about this place. more

Went there with a friend a couple months ago, we passed be the place once and I thought nothing of it. I thought back to the place that once stood there but didn't remember the name from the 1980's and thought nah, we headed for another bar and it was horrible there. I remembered that MINIBAR said they were NON smoking. Well we entered MINIBAR and I was like this place is small, but around the back corner there was alot of sitting room. The bar is very clean and the bathrooms are upscale to say the least. I was impressed to see modern european fixtures and the decor in the entire place was so cool you just don't want to leave. Oh The Chocolate Martinis are wonderful and we had a few. I really have to say that I had a wonderful time and it's on my list of favorite places to go while in Boystown. I even asked where to find the plans for the decor, I would like to do a (mini) version of that at home. YOU NEED TO STOP BYE THIS PLACE. you will have a wonderful time. Go here while you can.....with such poor customer service this place won't last long. I was here on the Sunday of Pride weekend when several bull-women cut in line for the MENS bathrooms. When my complaints were directed to the management on staff, they asked me to leave in order to minimize any confrontation. If you are content with sub-par management, you should come here. Otherwise, take your dollar elsewhere! more

The lounge is modern, clean, and well-done. Drinks are pricey and are vary according to the bartender, but are usually leaning toward the strong side.\r \r The staff is generally friendly, although there are a couple of bar tenders who constantly remind people they are straight, which is a little annoying. One or both of the owners are usually present and are very friendly, but the crowd is generally pretentious on Saturday and Sunday nights and normally don't venture outside their little cliques, which is cool if you're there with friends but it's not someplace I like to take Chicago visitors.\r \r Overall this is a 6 out of 10 - about average for Chicago bars. I have only been for happy hour on Fridays, but I really love the space. Drinks can be hit or miss depending on the bartender, but when they are soooo cute and nice you can easily forgive them ;) I have yet to go on a busy night, but even at less busy times service can be spotty with only one bartender. Overall highly recommended since I can actually carry on a conversation without yelling over music and the no-smoking policy is great. more
