We replaced our wood windows two years ago with Alliance windows from Midway. We were immediately impressed with the quality of the product, and in particular the ease of the hardware. In addition to the windows, we also replaced a very large sliding glass door and are extremely thrilled with the elimination of drafts and traffic noise. In 2007 we installed a Midway window right next to the 2 of the largest window fabricators in a nursing home. The client wanted an honest practical comparison. The staff, patients, and owners operated and inspected all three windows. When the Midway window proved to out perform the others they had us install 250 windows in their buildings. I have sold and installed Midway windows ever since. When installed with correct building science methods there is no window that is more ascetically pleasing. The window with a .30 U Factor coupled with the engineering of the window frame and components is second to none. As with anything there can be mistakes. We replaced our living and dining room windows with Alliance windows from Midway and were so impressed with their performance that the following year we did all the bedroom windows upstairs. They are so easy to clean--no more climbing ladders outside, just pull them down and in and begin cleaning.\r Because of their energy efficiency we have noticed how much quieter it is in the house. We can keep the thermostat turned down in the winter and up in the summer because they are so well insulated and keep us comfortable no matter what the temperature is outside. I've installed many makes of replacement windows and by far midway has been the best as far as quality and service after the sale. Moisture on the inside of a window means the humidity level inside the house is to high and should be brought down. I have had midway windows in my own house for 10 years and still work like the day i put them in! more

All 20 windows are drafty and therefore water condensing on them like crazy (window temp is much colder than it should be). My relative humidity was in the mid 40's, indoor temp at 68 degrees and outdoor temp at 28 degrees. The windows actually iced up...I've never seen something like that before.\r \r As it got colder outside water began to collect and puddle on my wood sills. I had to wipe the windows down in the morning, what a joke. Water even formed on the FRAMES, yes the FRAMES!\r \r I don't know how its possible that they have a .29 ufactor. My doulbe pane windows (with no argon gas, or e-coats) with storm window was a .47 ufactor and had no where near the problem these did.\r more

I suggest you RUN FAR AWAY from Midway Industries who sell windows under the name of Alliance Windows. My builder used their windows and I can tell you, unless you like windows that feel like they belong in a 1920's home, then BEWARE. This manufacturer states that these windows are performing to manufacturer's specifications. I would agree if windows were made to hear wind noise / street noise, let in cold drafts, form severe condensation, mold, ice - sometimes 3 inches across on INSIDE of window, water leaks, water stains on window ledges and did I mention, unable to open 2nd story windows in cold weather! I can only hope we never have a fire on a cold day, because we won't be getting out of those bound closed windows!!! Don't believe there so called Lifetime Warranty, because they will just deny any problems. And any residential builders who's considering using them, I'd think twice because your not going to like all the calls you get from your new homeowner's who will complain about them!!!!
