Large Portions and Yummy soups, dipping sauce, and my favorite the Chicken Shwarma. Not super kid friendly as inside is a bit crowded, unless it's a sunny day and you can sit out...

Although the food is very tasty, the Mediterranean Kitchen uses way too much garlic. It's to the point, where guests smell like garlic for several days after the visit. Can only r...

If you can get past... 5/31/2003

My family has been dining here, off and on, for several years. The place is TINY with NO waiting area so don't sit by the door...it is constantly being opened. Our last visit here, we decided we wont be back. My lamb was charbroiled and cold (3rd time). The portions are plenty (they wont allow splitting unless you pay an additional $6). This restaurant only has MAYBE 20 tables and they allowed a party of thirty next to us. We couldn't even hear ourselves talk. Do NOT allow large parties when your restaurant cannot handle that capacity. The owner is fakey and I don't like anyone trying to insincerely shmooze me. If you can get past the noise, the often burned meat and the tiny and insufficient location...enjoy! Pros: inexpensive, large quantities Cons: Too small, no parking, noisy more

mmm... Garlic! 5/23/2003

This place is wonderful and has been a favorite of mine for years. They also do the ""Dinner Delivery"" service and with their huge portions we often just do that and share 1 meal between the two of us. Try the ""zahra"" -- fried cauliflower in tahini as an appetizer, with ""kafta kabob"" as your meal. As others have said, they really lay on the garlic. I think the salad dressing is where it really gets you. I always end up eating lots of pita to counter the garlic. Pros: delicious, generous portions, nice waiters Cons: garlic breath 4ever more

Psychotropic Levels of Garlic 2/11/2003

This is the spot. There is no way that any one could talk me out of eating here. I let these guys know that I am here for the garlic, and I usually leave high on the stuff. And yes, I do smell of it the next day, I am proud to be a garlic eater! Pros: Garlic, Excellent, Romantic Cons: none, none, none more

Good food, perhaps too much of it 1/22/2003

Dinner is a great value-a 5 course meal including bread, soup, salad, your main dish, and coffee. The staff is friendly and will remember you after a few visits. The good thing about this place is you know you'll be taking food home. The bad thing is that you know you'll be taking food home, so unless you like a highly garlic-scented car, don't plan on going out for drinks or a movie afterward. The closest thing Bellevue has to a neighborhood place with soul. I usually order the falafel or stuffed grape leaves. Can't eat much of the fatoush, and the toasted pita in salad doesn't survive as a leftover. Pros: large portions, consistently good, it's about garlic Cons: large portions more

YUM!! 1/20/2003

This is one of my favorite places in Bellevue. The service is wonderful and the food is absolutely delicious. When you sit down, you are brought soup and bread and salad later. I don't think I have ever ordered anything that I wasn't completely happy with. Try the cauliflower appetizer, it is wonderful. The portions are HUGE so you will probably have some to bring home. The baklava is some of the best I have ever tried. This place is wonderful. Pros: good value, great service more

Excellent! 1/7/2003

This place rocks. Great service, great food, huge portions. What else could you want? It cracks me up that anyone would ever complain about a portion being too big....take it home and have another meal, GEEZ! You can get less food for more $$$ anywhere around town, why not get 2 meals for the price of 1? Try the Shish Tawook or Chicken Shwarma. If they have the daily special of Dajaj Malahala, try that too. YUM YUM YUM Pros: Food, Service more

way disappointed 12/13/2002

i've given them a few tries and just can't give a favorable rating. the food is only fair - too much garlic can mask the flavors of the food (and i'm a garlic lover) and the portion sizes are ridiculously huge. the falafel is overcooked, the salads are totally blah. too bad, i had high hopes. more

GAAAAAARLIC! 12/5/2002

Rich, intense flavors abound here. And portions that could feed a small army, so bring an appetite. If you love garlic, call this Kitchen your own. I've been told the cuisine leans more towards Lebanese; reminds me of some Iranian dishes. Lots of beautiful saffron rice, tangy lemon flavors, and tons of multi-layered spices are in every bite. It's an absolute system overload for your palette. Pros: GARLIC!, gorgeous flavors, inexpensive Cons: can be hard to find, gets crowded more

Ya Baby, Ya. 9/15/2002

Those who don't like garlic, stay away. More room for the rest of us! Great food, fantastic portions. more

Too much garlic!!! 7/26/2002

Although the food is very tasty, the Mediterranean Kitchen uses way too much garlic. It's to the point, where guests smell like garlic for several days after the visit. Can only recommend if you are planning to stay at home afterwards. more

garlic lover's paradise! 6/27/2002

We probably eat here once or twice a month. There is nothing to say but ""perfect"". Of course if you don't like garlic, you'd be happier somewhere else. We have found the wait staff to be superb, the food to be amazing and the atmosphere cozy. Get there early, or expect to wait. Not great for kids or large groups... However for a quiet cozy evening, this is the one restaurant it's worth the long wait for a table. I have brought my father, and friends to this restaurant and all have wished for one in Ohio! Yummy! more
