If you like garlic and good service come here. 10/21/2006

This place might be small but it brings back a couple things that I have been missing. For example great food for a good price and great service. The people make you feel welcome and the portions are great for leftovers. You gotta try this place. Pros: Great food, great prices, wonderful service more

Worst ever!!! DON""T GO TO THIS PLACE! 5/14/2006

The place is too small and uncomfortable. The food is really bad - too much garlic, pepper, vinegar, too big of a portion for such yucky food. I ordered the beef kabob and it tasted average, however, the beef is so tough, it's like eating leather. My husband ordered lamb- and it was worse than mine - tasted like very sour yogurt. They don't have any kid friendly food. So we ordered plain linguine for the kids. When we asked for butter on the side for the noodles- the server said ""We don't have any butter."" Finally the plain noodles meant that it was slathered in oil and pepper. We will never come back to this place even if you pay us to. Oh, by the way, their restroom is just as bad. This is just unacceptable for a Bellevue restaurant, for any restaurant for that matter!!!!! Pros: pita bread Cons: everything else more

Wonderful little restaurant 2/25/2006

Easy to drive by and not notice this little gem of a place. Excellent service and the food is pretty good. I've had real authentic Lebanese food, and this is not quite as tasty but certainly worth repeat business. The service is excellent. They are a little inflexible on the menu substitutions, so you'll have to order side dishes if your entree doesn't come with the sides you want. Overall a positive experience. I will be going back often. Pros: ambience, service, food Cons: small seating area more

YUMMY! 1/21/2006

Service is excellent!!!!!!!! -food is fantastic.. very romantic and nice to try something new :) parking can be tricky.. I have seen reviews where people said the owner was flakey.. or rude.. i have not found this true-- my boyfriend and I are an average young couple they can probably tell they won't get a HUGE tip.. but he has always treated us kindly, and actually gave us a free desert tonight.. he will always make sure you are doing okay, and you like what you are eating! 5 star :) not a good place for kids-- on the weekend get there around 4:30- seatting never a problem if you get there early hope you will give it a try.. its worth it! Pros: taste, value, service!! Cons: not very much seating more

Very disappointing 1/21/2006

I tried the Mediterranean Kitchen twice and was similarly disappointed both times. The size of the restaurant means that you are likely either sitting 1) by the swinging door to the kitchen waiters fly in and out of every 30 seconds, 2) by the front door where people are letting in cold air, or 3) at one of the tables smack in the middle of the aisle everyone walks through. The portions and the prices are silly, especially since there is a $5 charge to split an entree; this place is not concerned about the obesity epidemic. I ordered a glass of wine, served to me in a ""tumbler"" that looked like a child's juice glass. Between that and the mammoth slab of lamb that was placed in front of me, I felt more like a caveman than someone out to a nice dinner. Not recommended. Pros: Good couscous, Reasonable service Cons: Portions, Price , Atmosphere more

Loud, Salty and Rude 1/15/2006

Tried this out after hearing rave reviews. The music was deafening, the lighting too dim to read the menu and waiters clueless. We ordered a mezza tray for 2 but realized after ordering it didn't have meat (which one of us wanted). We asked to change and were told we couldn't - the kitchen had already started it (they couldn't stop ladling hummus?). We also ordered an appetizer of stuffed grape leaves. They didn't arrive until we were full from the mezza (fantasic baba, hummous but the rest was too garlicky, salty and oily). The bill seemed too high. When we asked, the owner, eager to see us leave, said our grape leaves were the dinner size - and that we couldn't order appetizers for a meal. Apparently the menu said so, but the lighting ensured we didn't see it. We won't be back - even for the baba. more

My dad is from the Middle East and loves the place, so I guess it depends on the person. I personally am not a fan of the food. They put the tahini sauce all over, and the sauce has way too much lemon and garlic. However, the service and value is great. more

Snotty Service 10/23/2005

I read the reviews here and so was looking forward to going there for the first time. We made reservations but had to go around several times to find a parking spot. When we got there, table was given to another group - which was fine because we forgot to call in that we were running late. What was NOT FINE was the way the owner/whoever it was told us off - he was bitchy and very unwelcome. He basically told us off, is what it felt like. So, despite the good reviews on their food, I do not think I will be eating at this restaurant. I will give my business to somebody who's happy to have it. more

I didn't know food could taste this good!! 9/17/2005

I just ate there for the first time the other night and let me say, despite all of the great resturuants here - it is the BEST food I've eaten since moving to Seattle a year and a half ago!! The food was AMAZING!! From the lentil soup, to the salad, to my entree (fool moudamas) - everything was wonderful - the food and the service. My friend's (who really isn't a huge fan of mediterranean food) loved every bit of his, too. We just couldn't get over how great this place is and talked about it off and on for the rest of the night! Definitetly my new favorite resturaunt. I'm full-fledged addicted. We were seated right away with no wait, but if you get there after about 6:30, it looked like it filled up quick. Pros: Wonderful food, Huge portions, Excellent service Cons: None, None, None more

Best in the city - Hands Down 4/24/2005

This is the best Med. restaurant. I had never tried Mediterranean food and this was my intial meal. I enjoyed it immensely. I had chicken shawarma - with tender, marinated to delight chicken, soft yellow rice, tons of hummus and spices, including garlic, mint and thyme in a nice portion on the dish itself. That wasn't the only thing I got with my meal. A wonderful (read: to die for) lentil soup and crisp salad with house balsamic dressing along with pita comes before the meal. The staff, moreso the owner, is kind hearted, communicative, warm, and will make sure you return once again for another exotic dish. Standard beers & spirits on tap. Kids totally welcome too, there's plenty of kid-friendly pita and lassi (milk shake type drink) to go around for them. Pros: Service, Food quality, HUGE portions,, Parking, Experience Cons: Crowded occasionally more

Garlic lover's paradise 2/6/2005

Be warned--this restaraunt's food is addictive. Yes, they use a lot of garlic but it is not the only flavor you will taste. Their chefs manage an exquisite blend of spices and sauces to perfectly accent the flavors of the meats and vegetables served in generous portions. And what service! The waitstaff are attentive, friendly and attractive. All this for extremely reasonable prices with free parking. Life is good. Pros: Amazing flavors, Excellent service, Inexpensive Cons: Small dining room, Only lunch and dinner more

For the Garlic Lover 11/29/2004

Best restaurant on the Eastside by far. The atmosphere is romantic and soothing. The service is excellent and the wait staff is tasteful to the eye. The dinners come with soup of the day and salad. The soup is superb! Every day there is a different one. The salad is wonderful with a unique dressing you can buy there. The pita is warm and plentiful. The entrée portions are large, I have only seen one person clear their plate. I always have extra for lunch the next day. My favorite is the shish-ta-wook, lemon and garlic heaven! The baba is the best I have tasted and the hummus is to die for. The Baklava and Turkish coffee are a great follow up to an amazing meal, be sure to save room. Bassam is adorable and can sweeten your coffee just by putting his finger in it. Pros: Authentic Food, Great Service, Romantic more

Mouthwatering fare 12/21/2003

I went here with three friends and all of us agreed that the food was simply out of the world. My friends are vegetarians and we agreed that this was the best vegetarian food that we had ever had and great variety(which you wont get in other restaurants). For meat lovers too(which I definitely am) the food is simply astonishing (i ordered Algerian Chicken) and definitely more than worth your money. My favorites in this restaurant are a) Mezza tray(appetizer) b) Turkish coffee (dessert) The only thing that you need to watch out for is extremely generous servings. Order carefully or you might find yourself feeling full (or exploding :)) even midway through the entree (assuming that you have ordered an appetizer). If you are not an extremely heavy eater then you can have a great meal for less than 20/person. Pros: Amazing food, Good service, Easy parking more

This restaurant is by far one of the best for the quality and service in the Seattle area! The atmosphere is great. They even carry my favorite bottles of wine! Pros: easy parking, Excellent service, Lots of food more
