Best. Martini and Dancing Place in Chicago 5/31/2010

I had a blast here the other night. Memorial Day weekend. The staff was on point, drinks were served GREAT. The crowd was 25-35, good, fun, not a bunch of posers. Music was danceable and fun. Not hip hop, not bubblegum. They had really good people all around. There was plenty of places to sit, drink. From beers to bottles there was something for everyone. Pros: Great Staff, Great Music, Great Crowd Cons: None I can think of more

MARTINI PARK IS ONE OF THOSE PLACES THAT IS NOT A TRENDY CLUB WHERE THERE ARE 6 TABLES AND YOU STAND FOR HRS TO GET IN ONLY TO FEEL YOU ARE THE COOLEST BEING ON EARTH. Bad Service, Multiple Credit Card Charges 8/8/2009

We just went here last week and it took forever to get a drink. The waitress was very nice but when you're sitting with an empty drink most of the time you're there, it's pretty annoying. Secondly, my bill was $30. I not only got charged $30, but I also got pending charges of $169 and $27...putting my account in overdraft!!!!!! Who the hell does that....even if you are going to take it off right after that! I've had this happen before but never at this high of an amount and THREE charges! My husband also got two charges! This place is lame. Save your money. Cons: Service, wrong cc charges more

Absolutely love going to Martini Park when the Spazmatics are playing on Thursdays. The dj will also spin remixes of 80's classics. It's great for a girls night out. Pros: Great live music and martini selection Cons: Sometimes it can be a little too touristy more

My new fave bar! 5/11/2009

Finally made it to this bar after hearing rave reviews from friends and it did not disappoint. The stage is actually set behind the bar, and the band was pretty good. The dj was even better!! The drinks were great and the crowd was fun. It did seem like everyone I met was a tourist, so this is obviously not the local-place-down-the-street. I agree with reviewers prior when they say that this has a very Vegas feel :) Pros: live band, extensive drink list Cons: parking in this area stinks more

Live and In Color! 1/21/2009

Martini Park is the place to go if you want a nice, chill yet fun environment where you get some great martinis. It's like an escape from all the stress, yet in a beautiful central area in Downtown Chicago. Whether you go with a group or after work, you will definitely unwind and enjoy yourself especially with the live band etc. more

Live band, fun crowd, 80's night every Thursday! 11/5/2008

I went to 80's night at Martini Park a few weeks ago, and my friends and I had a lot of fun. There is a live band that did a really good job. The crowd was fun; some people dress up but it is totally optional. A lot of people were dancing, but if you are not into the whole dancing scene you can just sit back, drink, and listen to the band. If you haven't been to Martini Park before you should check it out! more

Good Dirty Martinis, Fun Live Band 10/27/2008

A business associate rented out Martini Park last night for a corporate function, and it seemed like the entire crowd (several hundred people) enjoyed itself. The band was fun, playing a good mix of music at a good decibel level, the bartenders were fast and friendly, and the wait staff was attentive. Very smooth, downtown environment. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to host a private function. more

River North is the best 9/2/2008

This is a great place to sit and relax and have a martini. Scenery is great and lots of adults here! Not your typical 20 something place with just a ton of drinkers that drink to get drunk and end up being obnoxious in the neighborhood! This all class and all grown up! You gotta check it out! more

My FAVORITE new find! Superb atmosphere and great people 7/29/2008

I grew up in Chicago and while I moved to Boston 4 years ago, I frequently come back to my hometown on business trips and downtime. I'm a local and I know what works and what doesn't for my crowd; this place is all-around quality. As soon as you walk in you know these guys didn't cut any corners. Non invasive and so entertaining at the same time. Live band yes. I'm in my mid 30's and I don't consider myself a loud or partyish person, and this is the one place my friends and I always have such an enjoyable time. Last time I was there I sipped on an elegant Cucumber martini, delic. :) My girlfriend is a flight attendant and frequents here more than I do, but we both devour their Salmon Poppers when we meet up. Classy dress code yes, and I've never encountered a problem. Thumbs up all around! Pros: People, atmosphere, live music of favorite tunes Cons: Outside patio can get cold/windy more

don't bother 6/18/2008

Decided to go there after work with a friend. There were plenty of seats available at tables around the bar and at the bar. However, when we turned the corner and went to the door - we were told "" there's a dress code here"" PS: I was in a business suit and my friend was dressed business casual. Then as we left, we noticed that there were people in tank tops and jeans sitting near the bar. Unreal! If you want a great scene with great food and great service - try Nacional 27. Ok all you Chicago people. I just want to take a min and say YOU ROCK! I am from California and went to Martini park and had a BLAST. The food was fantastic (especially for a late night menu) This place is HUGE with a Great band too! The chocolate martini was something I would have never ordered, but the waitress suggested and I must say I am hooked! I will absolutely be back on my next visit. I read some of these reviews and I have to say, the ones that didn?t like it probably didn?t belong there in the first place. It?s upscale and if you have taste and style you should absolutely go! Fun fun fun 2/27/2008

A neighborhood saloon designed to convey simple elegance. The food and specialty cocktails are feel good fresh, natural and easily understood. It's not just another tavern! This place has live bands and a great eclectic crowd. I liked the martinis, the spacious area, the decor, and the food. It's a good place to experience at least once. My girl friends and I had a great time! Give it a try. Pros: Love the late3 night appitizers Cons: try valet and parking is not an issue more

I had a great time at martini park, until I got my bill. There were drinks on my bill which I did not order, but I paid for them anyways (stupid, right?) I left my cash tip, then went back to the city I belong to. By habit, I check my restaurant purchases/charges online via my credit card website. I then noticed the restaurant charged my credit card an additional $20 tip. What is going on? I called martini park for them to adjust the tab but they never returned my call. I actually got a hold of someone and she put me on hold for 15 min and no one still picked up. WARNING::: DON'T GO THERE WITH A CREDIT CARD. If you do go there pay by cash. more

Not too shabby........ 12/9/2007

I'm a twenty-something looking for something new. Live in the neighborhood and heard good things about the Park so decided to give it a try. Have been twice with a pleasant experience both times. Got right in with no cover both visits. Crowd is very diverse, it gets younger as the night goes on. Bands early in the night are so so depending on the night but once the DJ starts spinning the dance floor gets packed-pretty much top 40 music. The bar is crowed but no problem getting a drink. Expresso Martini's are the bomb! If you're looking for something in between a college bar and a super trendy hot spot, give Martini Park a try. more

Like, Oh My God! 9/6/2007

Kinda feels like when the Metra doors open and you step off in Schaumberg. Fits at the Mall, not downtown. The floor staff was great--one bouncer/host went out of his way to get us extra stools at the table. The food was good, but felt corporate. If the Park turned down the lights AND swapped the trailer park band for some hip music, it could be quite nice. Otherwise, franchise it up and put it next to Cheesecake Factory. Pros: Big enough not to cause a line Cons: Just about everything more
