When I met with my tenant and was told that the broiler did not work I thought that this would be an easy fix. 1. Call the manufacturer. 2. Get repairman there and have it fixed for free as it was still under warranty. Well I called the manufacturer, was given Mars Appliance Service as a reference and contacted them. That was easy. I requested that they contact me before they arrived which they did. So far so good.
I met with the repairman, Leo Y. (who gave me his card) and his associate. Not Bad. They attempt to diagnose the problem by taking the inside of the broiler apart. They talk about it for a minute and decide that they will have to move the oven away from the wall. OK Well this is where is starts.
Being concerned that when they move the over out, they would scratch the floor, I asked them ?could you be careful so you do not scratch the floor?? Leo tells me that they will not move the oven and that I needed to do it. WTF is that about? Here I am making a simple request for them to be careful and now they will not move the stove.
If fixing it requires them to move it; then move it.
Is asking them to be careful such a huge request?
Is this something out of the ordinary?
Wouldn?t most people be concern about this?
Shouldn?t they be prepared to move an oven and have the proper equipment there to protect someone else?s proper?
They are two large men, and I?m sure that it?s not that difficult to move a stove. Even if a client ask for you to be careful how do they get off tell me that I have to move it? I told them that it?s not my job and that?s why there were called; to fix the broiler. If they were not willing to move it while being careful then they could leave.
They reassembled the broiler, less one dropped screw and left.
Wow so much for an easy fix. I contacted the manufacturer and placed a complaint with them and was given another repair company?s number. I hope this is the easy fix I was looking for.
I know that there are many other company?s out there and I hope they, as well as Mars, read this as feed back of what customers think and use this as a tool to increase their level of service. I have dealt with many Service Repair Company?s and have to say that Mar Appliance Service is an example what customer service should not be.
Pros: on time
Cons: everything else
