Neighborhood classic 4/2/2006

My family and I have been coming to Marlai since its opening several years ago. The wait-staff have come to know us and take the time out of the busy restaurant hubbub to converse with us. The food is spectacular, especially the often-overlooked Thai staple, the peanut sauce. While some Thai restaurants skimp/rush this sauce, Marlai makes the sauce alone a work of art. The atmosphere is cozy and the small group rooms create even a more intimate setting for larger parties. Great for business meetings-- it's not surprising to see many business-clad men and women sneaking away from the local offices to take a lunch at this great, affordable Thai restaurant. Highly recommended! more

Marlai thai is very good thai food for those living in the laurelhurst community. I really like the ginger beef. Worth checking out if you get tired of the crowds at uvillage. more

Best Thai in Sandpoint Area 2/6/2006

Marlai Thai has become my family's favorite local Thai restaurant. The food is great, and it's family friendly. Take orders are filled quickly, and if it's not ready when you show up just have a seat at the counter, sip a beer, and watch sports on the TV. The list of favorites is long. My kids love the won ton, satay, and the crispy duck. My wife and I alway enjoy the phad thai, panang, and cashew chicken. When we eat in we try to find a different dish and, while some are clearly better than others, we have yet to be disappointed. If you are in the area - maybe before a Husky game - pop in for a bite. It's worth it. more

Yummy Thai Food in SandPoint 8/26/2005

The enticing aroma wafting from Marlai Thai Restaurant on Sandpoint Way is enough to tempt many an after-work excersiser to switch direction from the Pro-Robics across the street. With good food at slightly higher than average prices, Marlai offers a peaceful and quiet dining room in which to enjoy a relaxing meal. The menu is slightly different than the usual found at other Thai restaurants, including fewer noodle dishes from which to choose. more
