I may be one of the longest clients of Dr. Gedeon. She first worked on my animals when she was a relief vet for my regular vet who had quadruple bypass surgery in the early 1980's. When he retired in 1995 he chose her to send his clients to her. I drive by 4 other clinics to get to her. She is outstanding and loves what she does. She will spend the time to thoroughly diagnose your pet. When I was there Thurs. a lady came in with a newborn pup that the mother was ignorning the newborn had not nursed. The lady asked Dr. Gedeon to please take it. Today, Monday the pup is doing well. My dog was in to have 2 growths removed from her arm. The rest of the staff also do an excellent job and most have been with Dr. Gedeon for a long time. more

I took my cat in to see Dr. Gedeon. She was unfriendly, actually rude and all though her staff seemed nice she is not one I would recommend. She told me my cat was fine but I knew something was wrong in my heart. My cat died two months later. I am devastated. I should have found another vet for my cat but I wanted to believe she knew what she was doing. She didn't !! more

I took half a day off work yesterday and we drove 2.5 hours to Marcum Road Animal Hospital for an Ear Crop Consultation in Lakeland. They were highly recommended and not too expensive. Well, I was told the doctor is an older lady who is very experienced and would walk us through the process. However, she wasn't in. We saw the "relief" vet, Dr. Loosey who was an older man that appeared disabled (May have suffered a stroke at one point),he could barely move one side of his body. You could not quite understand him when he spoke and he could not handle our 5.5 lb dog with both hands and walked severely limped. Well, he took our dog to the back where you could hear him mumbling and our dog screaming like he'd been stepped on or dropped. He came back and told us that he took his blood but said the couldn't find a vain in his neck. So he used his leg. I noticed then that Dr. Looseys hands were bloody and our dogs leg was covered in blood. I said " oh my god, is that blood?" He said no it's alco more

We saw the ""relief"" vet, Dr. I said "" oh my god, is that blood?"" He said no it's alcohol. See you next week to get his tail done. And left the room. I of course had a meltdown, we weren't there for blood work or a tail dock. You could clearly see our dogs tail was docked. We were there for an ear consultation. I began to somewhat make a scene and a nice lady told me that the front desk person was new, and had mixed us up. 2 vet techs came out, calmed me down, and cleaned up Our dog. She cancelled the blood test and apologized and really tried to reassure us. We paid, left, drove 2.5 hours home and the next morning, I cancelled his surgery. more

I see the note by Laura - I'm the customer. I was told would get credit for the duplicate next time we came in for exam or treatment (and credit because we came on ""seniors discount day"" and didn't get the discount (I had mentioned it when made appointment but was told I should have said it again at check in for appointment). Didn't ""come back for credit"" because haven't been notified to do so, and wasn't here when shot time this year ). Nice lady and staff, but not real thrilled with cat getting two rabies shots within a month of each other. more

I work for Dr.Gedeon and noticed the last post was about a refund on rabies..Well I looked on this account and Dr Gedeon did give this person a refund in the computer the same day (7/19/12) but the owner never came back to have her credit card refunded and Dr Gedeon does not use three year rabies on cats because the chemicals in the vaccine that make it last for three years have been associated with cancer tumors at the injection area... more

They listened closely to everything I was telling them, and showed a lot of attention to detail. I've never had to worry about them forgetting something or not reading my information correctly, which I've encountered at other places. I've been places before where they were argumentative and angry, so I was nervous that I would encounter that here as well. Instead, they were very calm and understanding the entire time. I could tell they really care about everyone who visits them. I've been to other vets that have designated areas for dogs to go to the bathroom but I didn't see one here. It really wasn't that big of deal though because there was a little grass outside the office so it was fine. more
