Ok so the 1st time everything went wrong but for some strange reason I gave it another chance and I am soooo glad- its become a place to go everytime I want a great (but expensive) sandwich "madrid" mmmgood- plus malanguitas fritas and dessert worth every penny- go early and just go in and sit- its relaxed- more

For my friends in the Miami area, especially anyone close to Pinecrest........you MUST try Malanga restaurant. IMHO, the best tasting Cuban food in all of Miami.\r \r My husband and I finally got around to visiting Malanga. Our son and daughter-in-law recommended it to us and had been reminding us time and again to make sure we went. Well, finally today was the day. We arrived at 7:45 pm after making dinner reservations to find 4 other couples dining. We were so pleasantly surprised. Genuine Cuban flair, genuine Cuban flavors, genuine Cuban selections, genuine Cuban sayings on the feature wall, genuine Cuban music softly playing in the background, genuinely Cuban all around. We are so impressed we decided to keep it as our private date place. \r \r Succulent roast pork, thick red beans, flaky white rice, generous portions, an arroz con leche that was incredibly tasty like my Mami's home made version. Delicious vaca frita with grilled onions, outstanding congri, well fried tostones.....and our waitress couldn't have been nicer. What more can I say? It was an excellent experience. \r \r We highly recommend it. more

I went to the Malanga Cafe on a Sunday and the place was packed. Parking was impossible. The staff was hard to understand as we do not speak Spanish. The roast pork- dry, dry, dry. Had to send it back. 15 minutes later I got another one, but everyone was finished eating by then. No refills on the water. Green salad and tomato had no dressing and had to ask for it. No bread. Slow, slow service. I would not go back there- ever. more

About the same quality of food you get at Pollo Tropical. Some people get bread at the table some don't. Didn't ask if I wanted something to drink. I guess I looked like I just wanted water. Fish of the day, the server didn't know and didn't go ask. Order was gotten wrong. Waters don't get refilled. The chicken tastes like processed fast food chicken. The server picks up your plate by first placing the plate of the last table they cleaned on your table. Lovely. The appetizer get served with the entree. The food is over priced. But the take out bags are nice. more

I really like their croquetas and malangita frita. I'm a picky eater so I did not try anything else. The croquetas are extremly delicious. The inside of the croqueta is blanded well so you wont find ham chunks inside. The outside of the croqueta is crunchy and good. I go there once a week and get croquetas and malanga frita to go. The place is also very clean and the service is great more

the black beans and rice were good and the plantains were cooked well, but for a place that claims to have the best pork sandwich, that was the worst roast pork I have ever been served. It was dry and hard and only the fact that I was there with my co-workers kept me from sending it back. more

World's Best Pan con Lechon? Meat was overcooked and underseasoned, almost as if it were reheated. No matter how much so frito you put on the sandwich, it was still DRY. The servers were friendly and the decor was nice but the food SUFFERED. more

The food is a grease pit. All food is reheated and tasteless. Terrible! more
