Great Cinema in Ballard 5/8/2006

The Majestic Bay is a new, state-of-the-art tribute to the original Bay (1915) with one huge screen downstairs and two normal ones upstairs. It is a great neighborhood cinema and is centrally located in Ballard (on Market Street). Than Bros Pho is right across the street and Ben & Jerry's is next door - perfect for those who like to eat before and after a movie. La Carta de Oaxaca (excellent) and good Thai, Tex-Mex, Indian, and other restaurants are also within five minutes walk. more

A gem in Ballard! 8/18/2005

The Majestic Bay theater has everything you want in a movie theater. Restored/renovated a few years ago, this has a small-town feeling. The staff is helpful, the patrons jovial, and the decor is pleasing and always clean. There's usually something playing for everyone - generally a family-friendly film, a comedy, and either a drama or a thriller. more

A wonderful local theater 8/17/2005

Majestic Bay has been a great addition to the Ballard neighborhood. A renovated facility, the new seats/screens are great, and the movie selection is typically fairly good (mainstream films only - but they hit the better titles and quite a few family friendly pictures). The only drawback is that it is a bit spendy, but for the occasional movie the nice theater and convenience are worth a little extra. more
