Best

after my Saturday 2/27/2010 experience with drunk, rude, obnoxious, patrons, and bar staff who wouldn't do anything about it.....I won't go back! bye Mad Pub!

Worst

We attended the pub to watch the Seahawks play on 1-8-11 We found the people there(not every one) to be very rude, disrespectful! The bar was very croweded and there were no seats....

Re: A very comfortable Place to HANG....... 1/17/2011

We moved to Seattle form Honolulu to take care of my roommates father whose health was ailing, due to respiratory failure! We needed a place to go after long days of driving up and down to Tacoma! The Madison Pub, was that place! The bartenders Jeff and Joey are the sweetest guys you could ever meet! They always have a smile on their face and are always are hospitable to everyone who walks through their doors! Mahalo from our ohana to ours.... more

Its a Bar! 1/7/2011

We attended the pub to watch the Seahawks play on 1-8-11 We found the people there(not every one) to be very rude, disrespectful! The bar was very croweded and there were no seats. some of the people acted like they had paid seats or that they had paid thier way in. Several people perceeded to argue with us (and this is after we did our best to accomedate by moving 3times). Management was busy serving corn dogs and chips and had no awarness as to what was going. There were several tvs so there really wasnt a bad seat. Would i go back to madison pub? not anytime soon! Would i recommed the pub as a place to go and watch the Seahawks play? NO! more

A Well Kept Secret on the Personal Side.... 12/7/2008

I've read the reviews of Madison Pub and have to tell you that until you go there and meet either Jabriel, Logan, or Joey, you will never know what you are missing. At first, I had my own opinion about the environment being a little "stand off-ish". But that has changed. If you respond to a nice smile from someone who works there (they are all friendly to me), they are likely to return the favor. Most will ask and remember your name. I never visited for six weeks having only been there a few times before but was greeted by name the last time I was there. That meant a lot to me. I think the key is, what I have learned is that if you are visiting Seattle, fitting in to the crowd may not be the easiest. But fitting in with the staff is and they can introduce you to the crowd there. That makes all the difference. I've only been to one other bar where I was treated so well. I'm not a Greek Adonis or exceptionally good looking or young (late 30's) or a huge tipper (only due to financial restrictions at the moment) so I know that no one is being friendly to earn brownie points. They just want you to have a place where you feel like you are sincerely welcome and that's how I feel. I can officially say that when I go to Madison Pub, I feel like there is a sense of a "home base". I belong there, I fit in - something I'm not used to. And when time permits, if you are the type that doesn't want to deal with the weekend crowd, go in one night during the week and meet some of the kindest, outgoing, and friendly staff you will find in a Seattle Gay bar. The cool thing on those nights is when the staff has more time to interact and not just stand around and look handsome - though there is no problem with looking. But I've seen employees there direct out of towners to places to go and see, where to stay and what to expect - regardless of who the new face in the crowd may be. Go and have two drinks and see if you haven't discovered the best bar here. Pros: Friendly staff, mixed crowd, warm environment, pool tables, smaller intimate tables, inviting atmosphere Cons: Parking is not always easy, No Official Coat check (but you can ask nicely if space permits) more

Nothing special 10/10/2008

If you like peanuts, they are all over the place. Fun on a sunday afternoon. You can mingle with people sometimes, however dont bet on it. Fun for darts, sunday afternoons seem to be good there, and earlier on saturday Pros: parking, low key Cons: not really that social more

Avoid Myk-douche 3/14/2008

This is one of the greatest most friendly bars on the hill, excellent drinks, great prices. A great place to hang out with friends or meet new ones. The bar staff is amazing especially Hot-Toddy, Logan, Joey, Marcus, Jaybreille and the door guy Robert. Myk needs to find a new job where being unfriendly, rude, and thinks to highly of himself, hmm maybe the DMV would be a good fit. Other then Myk it's a great way to waste a weekend with friends playing pool, darts, pinball, trivia, bowling. Cheers!!! Pros: Excellent drinks, ambience, the table 2 posse. Cons: Myk-douce and the owner not recognizing this problem. more

Best little bar around 10/4/2007

I love the pub! Great drinks, diverse crowd and always a good time. Sure, Mick is not the friendliest bartender, but who cares. I don't need a bartender to pretend to be my best friend, especially since I found out I can't claim bartenders as dependents on my tax return. Go for the booze and the boys, 21 - 91 they're a fun crowd! Pros: Good bartenders, good crowd Cons: Sometimes a line later in the evening more

So good! 7/31/2007

This is a really great bar ? friendly people, awesome bar staff, dart boards, video games, pool tables. It?s NOT fancy, but very comfortable. It?s not very mixed, but I?ve brought chicks with me before and they had a great time. Free peanuts on Sundays. Wicked stiff drinks ? especially if you?re cute and flirt with the bar tenders, the long islands are legendary. Go early (6-7ish) to avoid the line. It?s such a nice bar, definitely my favorite gay bar ? perhaps even my fave bar in the city! Pros: So friendly Cons: usually a line after 8 (just go early!) more

Always a good time! 12/7/2006

I have been a customer of the Madison Pub for years now....and even though I have moved out of the city to the 'burbs....it still keeps me coming back. I cannot speak for the other reviewers of this bar, but I have to say that I have never had a bad experience with any of the staff....including Mick! He has always been nice and friendly to me...even when the bar is busy...never to busy to smile and say hi......I have always loved this place and will continune to patronize it.....especially with the great drinks and fun staff....keep up the great work guys! Pros: Stiff drinks, lots of people watching Cons: Waiting in line to get in.....not always enough seating more

LOVE THE PUB 8/7/2006

I recently discovered the Madison Pub. i can't believe what a great bar it is. What an eclectic crowd! everything from hot little twinks to dusty old trolls ...and it works. i've checked out the other gay bars since i came out six months ago, but none of the others come close to MadPub. i love the staff they got there too, except for Mick. whats his problem? i haven't seen my favorite one Ben though recently ...what a flirty little hottie! i cant rave enuff about what a gem the Madison Pub is, seriously. the drink prices are great! my only advice, if you're heading there on a friday or saturday night, make sure to get there before 10. there is no cover, but they still get long lines to get in. Pros: great crowd, great prices, no cover Cons: long line at door, Mick more

THE PLACE TO BE 8/3/2006

Madison Pub is a great place to unwind after work or on the weekends. it is by far the friendliest bar i've found on the Hill. the crowd at Madison Pub is friendly, inviting & tend to be young & hot (especially on the weekends). its a pretty diverse crowd, so no matter what your taste you'll find something you like. for the most part the staff is friendly cheerful, helpful, quick & HOT. that is with the exception of the tall geeky bartender Myk. She is rude, slow, unfriendly, unhappy & pours a really bad drink. what is her problem? Get your drinks from bartender Todd or ask to have Jeff or Logan, the two best barbacks ever, make your drink. why aren't these boys bartending yet? the manager Roland must be too drunk to notice what a fantastic job Jeff & Logan do. bartender jason is ok too, if you can stomach listening to him brag about himself the whole time he makes your drink (yawn!!). if you are an early drinker then come see bartender Joey. he makes the best happy hour cocktail ever (sun-wed). what a hottie!! Roland the other happy hour bartender (and manager) is nice enough, but i don't think he washes his hands much & disappears into the office with his employee lover a little too often. bottom line, if you know who to avoid you will have the best time ever at Madison Pub. Check it out! Pros: MOST OF STAFF, CROWD Cons: BARTENDERS MYK & JASON more

GREAT GAY BAR 7/13/2006

Madison Pub is a staple of the gay community in Seattle. Everyone is welcomed here. It is a little small but it adds character to the place. Great place to grab a drink with friends, play some pool, or watch a game on one of the many TV's. Great staff, great drinks, great pricing. Even better now without the smoking. Pros: Great Staff, Great Drinks, Great Pricing Cons: A little Small more

Outstanding 7/22/2004

It is rare when a bar feels like going to your own livingroom with a group of your best friends. The Madison Pub, with its unbelievable bartenders who are STUPENDOUS. You know you belong the moment you walk in the door. From the first time I visited this pub, they opened their hearts and allowed me to come in Pros: Intimate, personnel, open/honest more

The new and improved 6/6/2002

From small to grand, what a great improvement to a hidden quiet place. Looks good feels good is good. Do not ask for food cause it aint there, but if you want to scare the bartender ask for the menu, there is only one, and that is for show. Bring your own food, I don't think they will mind. The regular bartender is friendly and remembers you. Better than most and no cover for beer bust like the Cuff. Pros: open, friendly Cons: parking more
