Best

what are you guys putting in those burgers? They are so good. I'm sad to pay so much but because honestly I'd pay the same amount of money there monthly but get more if you just...

Worst

This place was clean, modern, good ambiance, music a little loud. Their signature dish of BBQ Wings was terrible, dry and very over cooked. The fries were fresh and crispy but...

I would never go back again 9/9/2006

I have gone to Lucky Devils twice but will not give them a third chance. more

Hope you LOVE to wait. Glacial service doesn't even begin to describe it... 9/3/2006

Words cannot describe how heinously slow the service at Lucky Devils is. Service is so slow that the time between when you place your order and when your drinks and/or food arrive that it can only be measured on a geologic time scale. Pros: Food's not bad... if you get it. Cons: ... but you probably won't. Enjoy the wait. (You will wait. A LONG time.) more

Worth every penny 8/27/2006

Get your burger on! Yeah you're paying a little more than you would at Carl's Jr. But, at Lucky Devil's you're getting some quality meat, buns, and produce with your order. I split the Kobe beef burger and a Kurobuta pork sandwich with a friend. They were both amazing and perfectly balanced with a large side of fries and organic salad. I think most if not all of their meat is free of antibiotics and is natural with organic greens. Pros: Great Food. Great Food. Very attentive service. Next to American Apparel store. Cons: parking? more

Enjoyable food and atmosphere 8/26/2006

Had my 3rd lunch at Lucky's. I enjoyed it yet again. I had an omelet it was yummy. Was treated very well by the servers and it was another good experience. My friends and I will continue to go there for sure. It's a bit pricey, yeah, but it's Hollywood. more

good food, horrible service 8/6/2006

I'm going to echo a bunch of the other reviewers--the food was good, but the service leaves a LOT to be desired. We were there early on a (very not-crowded) Sunday night and had a party of five. Dinner began with the server bringing the wrong drinks which was followed by her being snippy while ordering. All of us ordered sandwiches; however, after a long wait, the first three were brought to our table, then five minutes later the fourth was brought, then ten minutes after that, the fifth was brought. Cons: horrible service more

good but overpriced food, terrible service 8/3/2006

The food here is pretty good, although the prices are ridiculous ($9 chili cheese dog? $17 burgers). The fries are excellent - very similar to the fries at Jack-In-The-Box (coated with that layer of ?flour? to give them more crunch). The service is ridiculously bad. Had lunch with a friend - he got a burger, I got a chili cheese dog - and his food came out to the table 10 minutes before mine! WTF? Shouldn't you serve both of us at the same time, so that we can, uh, HAVE OUR LUNCH TOGETHER? Won't be going back more

My New Favorite ""Any Occasion"" Place 7/14/2006

I've been here twice now...and both times were phenomenal. I've had the burger, the mac and cheese and the cupcakes...ALL were amazing. And on top of it, both servers I had were friendly, out-going and helpful. The second time I ate there was a birthday lunch, and WITHOUT even requesting it, the waiter brought out a lovely cupcake with a candle in it. Weekend nights are great for sitting on the patio and people watching...my friends were entertained the entire time. I think this place is well run and the food is delicious. It's a must try! Pros: food, service, location Cons: parking more

Friendly, good food 7/5/2006

We're getting accustomed to the very expensive burger! And this one was worth it! The service was fast and friendly, food was good, and they seated us (per our reservation) right away. It's nice to have in the 'hood, we'll go back. Salad dressings were great, and the fries are divine. Pros: Friendly family place more

TERRIBLE! 7/1/2006

I should not waste the time as this overrated, pretentious place will be gone in 4 months, but... Pros: Air conditioning. Beer. Cons: Food. Service. Pricing. more

Another Trendy Hollywood place 6/15/2006

Let me get this out of the way: Best fries I've had in years. Other than that.....ugh. Worst service I've had in years, waiting 50 minute for 3 burgers is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I was watching the people in the kitchen, they were moving like molassas, one was even on the phone while she was cooking! The burgers were, eh. I've had a lot better, notably at The Counter and Houstons. The veggie burger, touted as homemade, was pretty lousy, very gummy and fell apart too easily. The buns here are very greasy, and the bugers themselves were greasy and heavy. They brag about Kobe beef, but the quality was not good. Yet another trendy Hollywood restaurant that can't back up the huge publicity push. Pros: Great Fries! Good looking Dessert Cons: Criminally slow kitchen, Burgers were too rich and greasy. Expensive more

Promising 6/8/2006

I went here before an improv show with friends largely on the positive reviews here at Citysearch. The food was really good and very reasonable. I had the turkery burger, which was very moist and flavorful, the deserts are really good too, as are the tap beers. Service was above average and the place was clean. My only complaint was the music selection...Hootie and the Blowfish? Not gonna fly. I don't think tourists even listen to that anymore. A restaurant can die because of the music played - food is only part of the experience, especially in LA. My advice to management is to work on the ambiance. It'd be a shame if this place fails because of the music, everything else is great. Pros: food, price Cons: music more

Should be called ""AWESOMEBURGER"" 6/5/2006

Finally...a great place to eat and have beer in the middle of Hollywood!! I've been to Lucky Devils with friends & family, on 3 occasions over the past several weeks. Each visit has been a pleasure as the food & the service has been exceptional each time. We've tried most of the menu items and from the burgers to the chocolate cake shakes to the premiem beers on tap, everything geta a big thumbs up!!! more

A little spot to consider in Hollywood. 6/4/2006

We walked by this place several times and decided to go in after reading a small article about their Kentucky Cream Cake (which is delicious!). The selection of beers is great. I settled with a hefeweisen for my chili hotdog and organic salad meal. The hot dog is reminiscent of the German ones my grandmother would buy. Unfortunately I am not a huge fan of them, but it was paired well with the chili. The salad with the pineapple vinegarette was simply amazing. The combination of greens are VERY tasty and the dressing perfected the taste. Pros: very clean, nice staff, atmosphere Cons: weird seating, odd visuals more

everything was delicious 6/1/2006

Of the many selections I have tasted (sharing at the table!) I LOVED the Kobe burger and fries. The garlic (?) mayo that is on the burger along with the specially toasted bun (from a local bakery) is such a wonderful combo. I ate too much because I just couldn't leave any of it. The Cobb salad is also amazing. The dressing, I was told, is homemade and was so scrumptious. I did not leave a morsel on my plate with that one either. The desserts are amazing as well. My daughter, who is 2, ordered carrot cake muffin after her herbed mac and cheese. The frosting on top of the muffin was sweet and the muffin itself was extremely moist. My friend ordered the ""secret recipe"" chocolate goo dessert and that was delicious! The ambience was very relaxed and everything was super clean. I can't wait to go back. Pros: excellent recipes, many options in menu, excellent beers more

great beer/food pairing 6/1/2006

The beer and food pairing was very helpful, as I didn't know some of the beers. The kobe burger and stout was perfect- it melted in my mouth and the stout was a great aftertaste. Must try the Kentucky cream cake- it was fantastic. more

Wonderful organic restaurant 6/1/2006

What a great restaurant! The food was fresh, well prepared and just delicious. It had exceeded my expectations as I knew it was all organic. more

Surprised There Weren't More People There 5/22/2006

We went on a Thursday night at 8pm - a time that normally would be pretty busy for that part of town, but were surprised to find only one other couple dining there. For such a small place they have a huge beer and wine selection and our waitress was extremely helpful with great suggestions - allowing us many samples of different beers. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the Kobe burger. The fries were GREAT - and the burger quite tasty..although a little overcooked? The pork sandwich was a tad sweet (brown sugar) - but all in all a great menu wtih lots of organic food and if you're ""lucky' you'll catch a glimpse of Lucky himself, who is still quite a looker! Pros: knowledgable staff, not crowded, great selection Cons: slow service more

great food & beers 5/18/2006

We stopped by for dinner just before they were closing on a weeknight a couple weeks ago. The Kobe cheeseburger was delicious (but a little overcooked) and I wouldn't have expected it, but my girlfriend's veggie burger was almost even better than mine! (Isn't it funny how everyone's serving Kobe beef now?) Serivce was good and our food came out promptly, but we were just about the only party in the restaurant at that late hour. Their beer selection is EXCELLENT - better than 95% of the bars in LA. The last reviewer was right about the TV monitors - Lucky - get DirecTV or something! Pros: great burgers, beer selection Cons: a little pricey more

Lucky Devils Disappoints 4/29/2006

Experience was tainted by unexcusable glitches and poor service. My friend and I were one of four parties of two in the restaurant. After waiting over 25 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich and hot dog, only one entree arrived because one of our entrees to be sent to a table that arrived well after we ordered (they also received 1 of 2 ordered items). We explained to multiple waiters that we were rushed. After a second entree reached the same party that received our entree by mistake, we requested that the server delete our missing entree so we could bail. Random video of bears, seafood and surfers on flat screen TVs seemed out of place. Lucky was there, adding to our disappointment. The waitstaff make him aware of our delimma and he chose to ignore us, only casting a glance in our direction and displaying frustration to waiters. Cons: Service more
