A New Lease on Life 2/12/2007

In October 2004 I started seeing Dr. Lara Long on the recommendation of our daughter. At the time I was on eight medications (three of them for the side effects of a fourth), but the first day I came in I had a kidney stone. Dr. Lara said the adjustment would not hurt the situation and most likely would help. I passed the kidney stone within four days of the initial attack. Dr. Lara helped me to get off six medications over the next weeks. Within a week I was starting to feel much better. She also started doing adjustments for the residual of a car accident earlier that year. A few months later a wrote a before and after document and was amazed at all the positive changes. My skin tone improved. I had much less pain and more movement. My emotions were no longer flat. I found myself laughing out loud again for the first time in months. I had more energy and zest for life. At times dealing with the office staff has been frustrating and therefore only four stars. As far as knowledge, professional skills, and people skills, I would give Dr. Lara five stars. I would recommend her to anyone of all ages. more

Did a good job relieving my postpartum back and hip problems 6/30/2006

Two years after my son was born I was in pretty bad shape, between the carrying of my pregnancy and the carrying of him after he was born. Long Chiropractic does not just perform simple adjustments, but designs fairly rigorous treatment schedules for their patients. It required a commitment of time from me (3 months at 2-3 times per week), and of course very few of us have insurance plans that will cover that, so I had to brace for some serious out-of-pocket expenses. There was also some pain/adjustment involved in getting my spine and neck back to a more "normal" state. However, the result has been worth it. My back pain is lessened considerably, I feel stronger in general, and (most importantly), I no longer feel like my left hip is about 2 inches higher than my right. Absolutely worth it for that. Now I am starting to work with them on my asthma. I was a bit skeptical about this at first, but that, too, appears to be working. Definitely recommended if you are ready to take the time needed to improve your quality of life. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that it just takes too long, and ALL my pain is not gone. But that is PROBABLY not their fault :) more

Maybe a little too open of an atmosphere... 8/20/2005

So, to be honest I have never been treated at Long Chiropractic (they could be miracle workers) but there is a good reason for this, despite the fact that they are right down the street from me and would be really convenient. They have these huge windows that look directly onto the tables right from the sidewalk/street. I walk by almost everyday, past people laying down and getting adjusted for all the world to see. That just seems a little too vulnerable for me. more
