Best of the best! 4/18/2011

My Husband and I have been coming here since we first started dating, 12 years ago.The place looks nothing more than your usual hole in the wall pizzeria but the pizza is delicious and the rice ball special is the BEST! Eggplant parm is another favorite on my list. The guys in the kitchen work hard and keep everything clean. This is always our ""go to"" place when we want good, home cooked tasting food. Since we moved out of Brooklyn, we still come here and drive all the way from Staten Island to eat here! more

Used to be the best. 12/6/2008

Being a local resident for many years, Lenny & John's was the go to place for some of the best Pizza brooklyn had to offer. In terms of taste and quality, I preferred L&J's over any other local pizza joint i've been to and even the upper scale brick oven spots (although it's not a fair comparison). \r \r When it comes to the pizza, over the past couple of months, the quality has dropped. The cheese is less flavorful. The sauce seems more bland. The crust seems the same for the most part. \r \r It's become clear that quality has become second fiddle to profitability. I would have welcomed an increase in prices if they kept the same quality. But that is not the case. The pizza is simply much worse now. \r \r Every couple of weeks I stop by for a slice hoping they've changed their ways, but every time I'm greeted with disappointment. I'll probably continue to do so. How many defectors will it take for them to change their ways? Pros: Great service, can usually find seating, great staff, love the lasagna Cons: Pizza quality has dropped dramatically more

Angel about Lenny & John Pizzeria 11/30/2008

First of all the Brooklynites know how to greet, tolerate and satisfy. There is no smell of burnt sausage or any other ingredient. The best pizza in Brooklyn!. Do not bring up second city ""pizza"" in the same breath! Thank you, family! Pros: Lots of Police late at night Cons: Small room more

There is only ONE Leonard and John's Pizza AND it gets NO BETTER!!!!! 8/22/2008

I have been a customer at Lenny and John's for over 40 years, so I can tell you, Vinny, Joey and the original PAPA JOHN make the best PIZZA not only in Brooklyn, but in all of New York. I have worked in Brooklyn, Queens, Yonkers and the Bronx, Long Island... you name it, I been there. There is no better. Asides from that they make wonderful dishes like steak pizziola, shrimp calamari, and fongole too! There is no better. I'm a tellin' you! Hey I now live in New Jersey - to get away from the egg plants and salmon. Brooklyn, my dear friends, is NO MORE. But there are two things to come back for: Nathan's Hot Dogs in Coney Island, and I am proud to say... LENNY AND JOHN'S PIZZA. Talk to you soon my dear friend Vinny!!!! and Joey!!!!! (Hey, remember Billy Dean??) He's stuck here in 'joisey too!!!!!!!!!!!! Love ya man!\r Pros: The People who make the food and the TRADITION Cons: NONE AT ALL more

Best pizza anywhere 3/4/2008

Dear Valued Costumers: \r \r Times have changed but our products and preparation have not. We do our best to keep everyone satisfied. Unfortunately, like everywhere else we have off days. We stand by our reputation and customer satisfaction. And we hope that we will always do so. Thank you!\r \r From,\r The Staff at Lenny & Johns\r \r more

Things sure have changed! 1/27/2008

Lenny & john's pizzeria USED to be a great pizzeria, But those days are long gone. The delivered pizza is always way undercooked and the sausage & cheese they now use are a far inferior product then what was used before, I'm a very long time customer Of Lenny and Johns and i noticed each and every time i bite into a slice. The pizza is horrible in the day time, It gets better at night! Go figure! The owner John's kids are ruining the place Bring Back John!!! Pros: Nighttime Pizza Cons: Daytime Pizza more

What an experience: DON'T DO DELIVERY 4/9/2007

Well for all I?ve heard about Lenny?s and John?s pizzeria it did not amount to that. I am a regular customer, their hours are great and the pizza is best in my neighborhood. However there are some mistakes that leave a lasting remark. I was starved after work so I ordered a pie, and after paying and tipping $14 for a pie, I latter found out it was a not cooked properly, the sausage smell funny and worst the bottom was burnt. So I thought I would do the logical thing call and complain, try to return for an exchange maybe, but the staff made it clear to me, as stated it was policy that if I had already bitten into the pizza, even a slice that they would not be able to take it back, it gets better, they cannot take it back with a bite, or a slice that was tampered with even though they are going to throw it away, and this manager on duty said these words exactly . Now that?s great customer service, wouldn?t you say? So here I was $14 short with a burnt pizza, oh did I mentioned they forgot to put tomato sauce as well. So you decide. more

average at best..over rated 8/20/2006

The pizza is very overrated. The place is filthy inside. The only thing L&J has going for it is it's hours of operation. The late night hours keep it a place to check out. Pros: Hours Cons: the pizza is greasy and never cooked all the way through more

my name is scott. i grew up within a half mile of this pizza god. i remember the day they first opened. the son of the owner still works their after almost 40 years. i have lived in 3 other major cities and have visited countless others throughout the u.s. there was dino's pizza, ruby's pizza, but closed in the early 60's/ I have baked pizza professionally and at home using time tested traditional method. In addition to the fact that i can be away for 5-10 years, going to lenny's is always like coming home, the food is even better than the days where we go over for a slice after work. it is great to see some of the same people and even the newcomers, though the neighborhood has changed radically, i would bet my life on the ;pizza. i give it the highest rating possible.......... Pros: cheap, excellent quality, a +++ Cons: none, none, none more

A Brooklyn Tradition 10/20/2003

Lenny & John's is definitely a mid-Brooklyn/Flatbush tradition for 2 reasons - the food and the hours. You feel like some chicken parm at 3 am? No problem! L&J's will be open - and as crowded as at 8pm. Their food is top notch with overflowing portions and a wonderful sweet, tangy gravy (sauce). For cheese lovers try the baked zitti sicilian. I will say that while their entree's are excellent, their pizza is just a little above average. Pros: Entrees, prices, hours Cons: small/crowded more

The Best of all the rest! 8/16/2002

The best home-made pizza all day and night long with lines out the door. The price is right. Pros: Excellent Pizza, Friendly Ambience, great italian food Cons: crowded more
