Editorial review from eat24hours.com 10/12/2012

The service here is AWFUL!!! Just because you serve RAW / VEGAN food doesn't make you angelic or free of the obligatory customer service. The wait is beyond for take out, delivery or in house...and I hope you like NUTS. The food here is bland, filled with hard to digest NUTS, and did I mention the rude staff?? DO NOT GO HERE. more

Fresh Organic Food--Good for lunch 1/26/2007

A good place to get a wrap or salad. Many options to choose from. Pros: organic, fresh food Cons: dirty tables, too many dates more

Great concept, a bit expensive 9/8/2006

We have been here 3 times thanks to the reviews here. The food is a great concept. The dishes can be difficult to tell apart. Main entrees come in the shape of a salad or a wrap. The salads are twice as much stuff but only $2 more. We paid around $40 for two the first two times. But one has to consider that almost every item at the place is certified organic. I wish I could have nothing but this food for a few months and see if I lose weight or lower my cholesterol, but it is too expensive for every day consumption. The staff is a bit dazed and giddy but friendly. They seem to have been selected to cover various races: white, black, Latin, Asian. Pros: Great Healthy Food, Friendly and Casual Cons: Cold ambience more

Favorite! 5/17/2006

My boyfriend and I tried out leaf and absolutely LOVED it! We didn't know what to expect, so we both went for the trinity sampler: he w/ the salad, me w/ the wrap. We both couldn't believe how amazing the dishes were! The decor is clean and fresh, but this is an 'order at the counter' type of place. Our only other experience eating at a raw food restaurant was at a fancier, more expensive place. We were amazed to find a place w/ equal quality food (taste and presentation) at such a lower cost ... we absolutely love it! It's our favorite casual dining spot. more

different... 12/7/2005

If your tired of heavy, processed food, this is definetely worth a try. Tried the ""Trinity Sampler"" in a ""sprouted grain tortilla"". I thought lettuce wrap wasn't gonna fill me up. Get the ""sunrise burger"" for sure. Everything was good. Nice change from your usual ""veggieburger"". Ended everything with a brownie, it was alright for a vegan brownie. Nice grainy, earthy taste. The ""whipped cream"" completed it. The only thing that bothered me was the extra $1 for extra sauce. But it's worth it. Pros: healthy, different, generous Cons: counter-service, extra money more

A little disappointed 8/30/2005

I drive by this place all the time, and yesterday, I decided to stop and try it. Now, they may have just been having a bad day, but I was really let down by my experience. First, there was a really wierd smell in the place, and to be honest, who can eat when there is a funky smell around. Also, their organization could use a little, um, organizing. The server brought me the wrong dish twice, and they all seemed a bit confused as to whose food went where. The meal itself was bit salty for my taste, but it was just hard to enjoy at all with that smell lingering. Maybe, I'll try it again... to go. more

Tasty and Friendly 8/4/2005

I just had lunch at Leaf and my friends and I had a great experience. The staff was extremely friendly and talkative and had some great suggestions since it was our first time. I tried the Trinity Sampler which allowed me the choice of three items off the menu all mixed together. It was really tasty, but a little too big for lunch. I recommend maybe just sticking to one choice, getting a wrap, or sharing a salad. The food is really fresh and flavorful and the Strawberry Mousse dessert was AMAZING. Who would have thought that cashews and dates would make the most delicious crust. Try Leaf for lunch. It beats eating fast or processed food and you will leave feeling full and healthy. more

Great Raw Food, Good Service 7/21/2005

Unlike the previous reviewer, I found the service to be friendly and attentive. The staff gave us reccomendations and explanations of dishes. If you are interested in raw food, this is definitely a place to try. If not, it will be an unusual and tasty culinary excursion. The ambience is great, compared to similar types of places, but keep in mind that it is an ""order at the counter"" type restaurant.. more

Leaf is Great...but 6/20/2005

The service left a bad taste. A server asked for my order & while I was in mid-sentence we were interrupted by another customer. The server tended to the customer, returned and proceeded to carry a conversation with the person in front of me--who had already ordered! I wouldn't have minded but he ignored me as if he never approached me in the 1st place. I kindly asked if we could resume the order before they continued talking about the great weather. I understand getting flustered during rush hour, I'm in the industry as. But both the server & customer rolled their eyes! I thought that was really rude. Still, the food was excellent. Expect to spend about $7.50 on a huge salad(Mediterranean Medley yum!). Spending the extra $.95 for extra dressing is recommended. Lively Lemonade is excellent as well as a great palette cleanser with bits of fresh ginger. Pros: good for locals, ample portions, lots of parking Cons: service, service, service more
