The food here is great. However. I had it delivered. 1 hour 20 min later. Called Because I didn't get my food yet. They said they gave my food to someone else. Then said they woul...

Great value, BYOB 12/4/2006

Meat is very good for the price and well seasoned. BYOB makes more an extra good value. The potatos and fried cassava are also fantastic. Nice service too. Great for a casual but fun night out. Pros: Good value, BYOB, well seasoned meat Cons: Can get busy more

Casual steak place, good for friends or guests 7/24/2006

Picnic style seating provides casual atmosphere for enjoyable dining experience. Foods are good. Need to bring you own drinks. Go a little South down Lincoln for a convenience store. Of course, you need to eat meat - otherwise, this might not be for you. more

Questionable as a steak House, but enjoyable 5/5/2006

For a place that calls itself a Columbian steakhouse, the steak dishes were actually very poor. The Churrasco (supposedly the house specialty) tasted and had the texture of a low grade breakfast steak. It is supposedly a NY strip steak that is butter-flied, but comes off as thin (1/4 inch thick?) and fatty, and has a peculiar bad meat taste. On the plus side though, the shrimp was incredible; the size, marinade, and grilled taste made these perhaps the best shrimp I have ever tasted. The chicken was also quite good, with a great marinade and grilled flavor. Our server was pleasant and accommodating when we sent our 1st steak back because it was well done (we ordered it medium rare). The prices were high; Churrasco was $17 and the chicken and shrimp combo was $18. I would go back here but definitely not for the steak dishes. Pros: Flavors, Music, Service Cons: Expensive, Steak Dishes more

Authentic, Affordable 2/3/2006

One of the best restaurants for the dollar in Chicago, especially since it is BYOB. My girlfriend, who is from Colombia, swears it is the most authentic in Chicago. Go here for a $40 meal for two and that will include 2 appetizers, steak, another entree, and dessert. I highly recommend it for any type of date/event/whatever. Great food, that isn't served by a waiter with their nose stuck in the air. Pros: BYOB, Food, Affordable more

Outstanding! 4/5/2004

The food here is unbelievable. Perfectly seasoned and grilled and served with a delicious chimichurri sauce. The room is bright and inviting, and the service is always friendly. But go for the food. You will not be disappointed! Pros: Amazing food more

Delicious steaks 4/9/2003

this columbian restaurant's specialty is their steak , grilled and served with chimichurri. it is delicious as are the side dishes. service can be slow when it's busy-as it often is as the place is small. more

Wonderful for curious taste buds! 10/18/2002

Wonderful festive atmosphere! Long wait on weekends, BUT the service is speedy once you get seated. Try the fruit drinks with milk -- makes for an incredible milk shake. Be daring and try a fruit you have never heard of! The steaks are wonderfully marinated. Definitely eat the steaks with the relish and salsa provided, as they compliment the spices in the meat. Oo! You cannot miss the empanadas. My Ecuadorian friend who went with me told me that empanadas are made differently in different countries/regions. This has to be favorite to date! The essense of the empanda, in my humble opinion, is in the pastry. Here, the pastry is not the typical flakey tasteless wrapping. Instead, the pastry has a wonderful, slightly chewy texture that really envelop your palette and give your teeth something to sink into! more

A Treat for Your Tastebuds 8/8/2002

This neighborhood restaurant is phenomenal. The spices used on the delicious steaks, chicken and seafood are yummy and I especially love the plantains. Their flan even has a hint of coconut. Definitely worth the visit. more

Great Flavor - Highly Recommned !!! 7/16/2002

Highly Recommned !!! Everything we had was absolutely fabulous. Everything had great flavor. The atmosphere and service were awesome. We were setaed right away and food is served quickly. The combination platter - matrimonios - is a good sampling. Coconut flan is a great desert to end dinner with. Have been there twice and will go again. I can't believe how great the food is at such a geat price. You can bring-your-own wine for a very minor BYOB fee (I think it was $3). Pros: Flavor, Price, BYOB more
