The best dive in the city 3/1/2011

Best taco, best salsa in the whole wide world. I have been going there since 1980's and they have expanded and the food is still the best. I mean you can not top this place! If there were to be a contest for best tacos anywhere this place will for sure win! more

Best Mexican Food 5/3/2010

It's hard to find a better mexican food restuarant that La Pasadita anywhere. I probably eat there 2 times a week. Sooooo good. I don't know how they make something as basic as a steak taco taste like magic :) \r \r My only complaint is that sometimes it takes a while to get your food after you order. Nothing ridiculous but I feel that it should be a little faster. Pros: Best tacos and burritos around, great prices Cons: Slow service sometimes more

GREAT PLACE FOR BURRITO'S & TACO'S 11/21/2009

I WAS BORN & RAISED IN THE NABORHOOD AND DRIVE 30 MILES TO STILLL GET THE BEST BURRITO'S AND TACO'S IN THE STATE! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ""E"" FAMILY. Pros: BEST STEAK BURRITO'S more

Great Food, Horrible Service!!! 9/23/2009

Yes! The tacos and burritos are delicious and addictive, but the level of service for a well established restaurant is super low!! The staff does not prepare your food your way, they prepare how they feel it's right. You ask for light onions and cilantro and you get about a quarter pound of onions and cilantro. If you return your food, they get mad. DO NOT GO TO THEIR ""EXPRESS"" LOCATIONS!!!! These locations always run out on things, like limes, horchata and they never have lemonade!!! They are NOT close to being good in taste. Good taste is located in the original locations on ASHLAND AVE!!!! It's true what the other guy mentioned in his review... They are getting cocky with the all the attention they are getting. Overall, order your food and get out. The taste you'll love but the service you'll hate... They only get two stars because of the good tasting food but if it wasn't for that, they would not get any stars. Pros: Great Steak tacos Cons: Horrible Staff more

Fatty Burritos 12/14/2007

For the most part, their steamed beef burritos are awesome. Lately though, quality has slipped. I don't know if they are getting cocky because of the increasing awareness or what but they need to change their ways. The meat used to be great. But more often then not the meat is very fatty or greasy. I had one burrito recently with so much fat, I through it away. Unfortunately it was a to go order so I couldn't send it back. I have tried to reach the owner and discuss the quality issue but he is too hard to get hold of. When the meat is good, it will be the best burrito you will ever have. Let's hope they get the message. I'm sure I'm not the only one. more

The Best Tacos in CHICAGO ... Try them & you will never go back to your old taco joint. 6/20/2007

The Best Tacos in CHICAGO ... Try them & you will never go back to your old taco joint. This is a 100% Mexican taco like the one your mom makes at home . Pros: The steak tacos & burritos are the Best in the USA Cons: None great food ! more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST... What a burrito is supposed to taste like! 3/1/2007

If you're looking for ambiance, forget it, just good food here. Don't miss this spot if you're passing through the city. I was turned on to them by a 'chef' on our way to Wrigley Field. Fabulous! It's hard to find an authentic Mexican spot that hasn't compromised by going 'white' on us. Hope they never change! It's no wonder they have three restaurants in one block! more

Below Avg. Steak Tacos & Burritos. Steak Tacos were chewey, not tasty or well-seasoned, and oily. 2/24/2007

Sorry, but I must strongly disagree with all those folks that think this place has the best (steak) tacos & burritos. Found the steak meat to be tough/chewey and not particularly tasty or well-seasoned. Tacos were also very greasy, and too little 'filling' of onions and cilantro. Also, we paid the extra 50cents for gaucamole, and there was barely a quarter-teaspoon if that on any of the Tacos. And, dissappointed there was no option to add real Avocado (which is my preference). The usual free Tortilla Chips were also not very well-made or tasty, and the 3 sauces to go with only so-so. The only positive note I'd make is that it is BYOB, so you can definately eat (& drink) on the cheap. But, for my money (and tastebuds), TACALITLAN beats this place hands down. (See my review of Tacalitlan). Pros: BYOB and cheap Cons: Steak Tacos and Burritos were chewey, not well-seasoned and oily. ""Extra"" Gaucamoli was almost non-existent. Tortilla Chips bad. Salsa so-so. more

The BEST dam burrito's in the history of the world! Period! If you do one thing before you die, eat here! Then you can die! 12/20/2006

I have been coming here since I was a teenager, which is about 20 years, and this is by far the best place for burrito's I have ever been to in my life! I now live in Grayslake, which is an hour to an hour and a half from La Pasadita, but when I am in the mood for one I will drive all the way down just for a burrito! To die for! I wish someone would give my a couple of burrito's for Christmas-that would be the best present I would want. I have taken every friend and even every girlfriend I ever had and now my wife and kids here to try it. Once you go, your hooked! Right now I am literally drooling over the thought of sinking my teeth into one. Great. Now I have to go get one! Anyone else wanna join me? Pros: You will never want a burito from anywhere else! Cons: You will never want a burito from anywhere else! more

Numero Uno Burrito 10/5/2006

I have been eating at the little yellow shack on Ashland, Las Pasadita, for about 20 years now. They have by far, the best steak burritos I have ever had. You may want the hot sauce on the side so that you control how hot you like it, DELICIOUS! Pros: Excellent food Cons: I recommend take out, but I also recommend the yellow shack Las Pasadita on the East side of Ashland. more

awsome burrito 7/12/2005

I have been going to the one with only the counter for 20 years, my husband lived down the street. The other locations across the street might be by the same people but in order to get the true burrito or taco you have to go to the original one. No other steak burrito compares! more

Simply Put...HEAVEN !! 6/13/2004

Being a Chicago native, I got spoiled with La Pasadita. When I moved to the suburbs, The 40 minute drive for the finest Mexican food was no big deal. I now live in North Carolina and I make regular trips back just to stock up on 20 - 40 Burritos to bring back with me to sustain my cravings. This is absolutely the best burrito I have had, anywhere. The steak is done perfectly and the balance of cilantro, onions and cheese make this the best. Unlike others, Pasadita does NOT load thier burritos with beans and other fluff to make them look ""big"", They will hold their own against any other burrito and you can rest assured that it is all steak, steak, steak. Pros: Great food and salsa, Quick service more

Simply the best - anywhere 6/20/2003

If you think you've had better, you're wrong. This is my favorite pigout place in the city along with Lem's BBQ and Harold's Chicken. 1. Best bet: Carne Asada burrito with onions and cilantro, cheese, and guacamole. The lengua verde is also really good. 2. Great fresh chips come with dualing salsas which are firey, fresh, smokey and awesome. 3. Horchata. Horchata. Horchata. Pros: carne asada, chips and salsa, cheap Cons: Cons? What cons? more

GREAT Food! 1/9/2003

The best burrito i've ever had! GO HERE after a night at big wig around the corner. great night, great time! Pros: carne asada!!! more

La pasadita tacos are the best tacos i have ever eaten. the first pasadita(yellow and small) is usually crowed on the weekends but the wait is worth it. when you bite into a savory taco. oh my god its sooooooooooooo good. you have to taste it for yourself to know what i mean. i recommend this place to everybody. it might not be a five star restaurant but the food is. Viva Mexico!! Pros: cheap, delicious, extraordinary more
