Crabmeat & Spinach Crepe Amazing! 5/12/2008

I could eat it everyday! Personable service, romantic setting and a great looking little bar. A neighborhood favorite! Pros: Ambience, Service, Value Cons: Guerilla warfare parking in the CVS lot more

Adorable, but not worth the hype 6/4/2007

One of my dining companion's likened the look of La Crepe as having been dropped here from right out of paris. It is lovely! We sat outside and enjoyed the scenery, the company of the other tables...all in all the ambiance was there. The food however, was another story. As a fan of french food, I know what to expect, however theirs was billed on the menu as french with that New Orleans flair using local ingredients to add interest, but not effectively. Many items sounded delicious, eye considered getting the crab crepes, but opted for the chicken with a light wine, curry sauce...seemed like it would be a flavorful choice (and I love curry). Not quite. It was BLAND! not enough curry to taste let alone smell. Another friend got the crab crepes, there were TERRIBLE! Pros: Lovely spot, great wine and of course, DESSERT!!!! Cons: fries were mediocre, food was blah more

Good prices, food So So 4/16/2007

Another seen & be seen place for locals. It's listed as having the best Frites, I have to disagree. Delachaise has the best frites which are hand cut & cooked in duck fat, stellar! more

Delicious and Cozy 2/21/2007

The food is great! The mussels are a fantastic starter, as are the yummy frites. The lump crabmeat crepe was superb and a must try for anyone who goes. For dessert I requested a crepe you can get from any crepe vendor in France with butter, cinnamon and sugar. The service was excellent and it is a cozy spot for a date or small group. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: long wait, no reservations more

Amazing Atmosphere, High Quality Food 6/18/2006

I adored La Crepe Nanou and would recommed it to anyone. I went on a Friday night at nine and only had to wait for about 10 minutes. The service was incredible and their bread a pleasant treat while waiting for an appetizer. I got the traditional salad, and their tomatoes were perfectly ripe and their mustard dressing is to die for. As an entree, I got the crab crepe with the creamed spinach, and it was the best lump crab meat I have found in New Orleans! Perfect flavor, and it matched very well with the spinach. For dessert, I requested my own crepe (which you can do!) of chocolate sauce, strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate ice cream. My friend got the crepe with the baked apples and loved it. Their wine selection is very good, and the atmosphere is pleasant. I would recommed that anyone who likes French food, fine dining in a comfortable setting, people watching and great desserts come here. An uptown gem!! Pros: easy parking, convenient for people living uptown Cons: they don't take reservations more

Delicious and adorable 5/14/2006

The food is superb. I started with a soft, sweet, halved avocado drizzled with dijon dressing. I loved the grilled shrimp (although the accompanying angel hair was only so-so) and also asked for a side of pomme frites which were crisp and delish. The dessert crepes are devine - I had Crepe Lucie (vanilla ice cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce) which was amazing. The service is superb. My mom couldn't decide between Crepe Florentine and Crepe Provencale, so the waiter suggested getting the Florentine and he brought her a side of the ratatouille from the Provencale. The only drawback was the wait (at least half an hour and we arrived at 9pm, but it was after Tulane graduation) but it was definitely worth it. Pros: food, service Cons: wait more

What a Gem! 1/12/2003

After my first visit about 3 years ago, I have become a faithful Crepe Nanou customer. The quality of their dishes is consistently superior and every time I try a new dish I am very pleasantly surprised. As if this weren't enough, the prices are unbeatable. Escape the overpriced tourist traps and try this uptown gem. Pros: Excellent quality, Great prices, Relaxed atmosphere Cons: crowded, No reservations more
