Best

I have been to many doctors and this one got my astigmatism contact lenses best I have ever had. Dr Kurtin was not rushed , polite, very informative, and has a neat sense of humor...

Worst

I deleted the review, just wanted to make a point Dr. Kuritn.

Moved from California 12/5/2008

I just moved from California, and wanted a cool down to earth place for renewing my contact lens. Kurtin Eye Center was one of top names from co-workers so I yahoo search. Made appointment on-line (awesome) after calling office about fees. Unfortunately they did not take my insurance (but they did give all papers for me to submit on my own, so nice). Dr Kurtin was apologetic for running behind (almost 30 minutes) but really cared for me as if I was the only patient he had. Without too much talk, he came up with this new soft/gas perm lens for my astigmatism (expensive, but he did give me every option). Coolest place I've been too, so modern and real sweet staff. I never thought I'd ever want to take time to write this stuff, but my experience was so great! Pros: Relaxing place cool aquarium Cons: didn't take my insurance (but did not want to go to chainstores!) more

Hot 11/12/2008

Best doctor I have ever been to, the receptionist offered me hot chocalate, from one of those cool coffee machines. They even had cat and dog magazines, never seen a great selection of cool mags. I went here for a red eye after going to doc-in-the-box--Dr Kurtin's associate treated it. No problems now. Check out the blonde nurse that works there, she is hotter than my hot chocolate was. Whew. Oh yeah, chek on the eye hand game on the website drkurtin com/eyehand.htm. Cool. If you like entertainment with your doctor, go here! Pros: everything, hot staff, hot doc more

lasik was great 10/27/2008

I went to dr. kurtin for a routine eye exam. This was the 2nd time here after last year he found I had presbipopa (that thing were the close vision gets blurry at my age). Anyway, I liked the bifocal contact lenses, but this time I wanted lasik. I didn't want to go to a lasik surgeon because heard too many bad things... just wanted a true opinion. After giving me ALL of my options, I chose to go with his lasik center docs-- this gave me a chance to relax and not feel rushed to have my questions answered. After the lasik, Dr Kurtin said my vision was better than 20/20 but may not last as we still have 'birthdays' as time passes. Thanks Dr kurtin for making my life better!!!! I will tell everyone I know how great it was to have you care for me!!!!! Pros: doctor was very thorough and humorous more

crt lenses were worth it 8/12/2008

I heard about CRT contacts instead of having Lasik. I searched Google for it and Kurtin Eye Care came up first. I called office, and receptionist was polite. She said doctor was a specialist in vision. I made appointment, came to office. I thought the place was ultra modern and very professional, but easy going. I saw Dr Kurtin, loved the tie he wore, he was very funny. I laughed, but he was still on top of what needed done. I was fit in CRT lenses, and take off in morning to see without any glasses or contacts. My daughter was fit too. That is the best doctor in explaining things to me. He is more good looking in person! ;-) more

you tube contacts 7/3/2008

There it was, an eyeglass thats all plastic, no screws, so many options. I found this place after looking for new glasses, called eyephorics swissflex. Did a search in dallas, where I live, and only few places carry them. Kurtin's office was it as far as customer service - needed eye exam for perscription. They did exam, Dr Kurtin was very thourough, I went to Walmart last time--big mistake-- I did not know someone like Dr Kurtin would be sooooooo different, and sooooo professional. Yeah it was more than cheapo docs but it's my eyes!!! His assistant is fine looking... more

Went the extra mile 6/27/2008

Born with bad eyes, had exam in El Paso trouble getting contact lens to fit comfortably. I cannot see with glasses due to kerioconus. Was visiting in Dallas and searched for doctor on internet. Dr Kurtin's name came up. Went to his website, was real impressed, but thought maybe it was a lot of fluff. After seeing his office, his staff, his care, I can see why he won so many best everything awards. It took him 10 minutes to fit me in a lens comfortably, and showed me the potential of how well I could see. It took months for those other so called 'experts', and they never found anything to work. No bs here, Dr Kurtin shoots strait, tells it like it is...wish I'd met him five thousand dollars ago... Pros: Reasonable fees Cons: had to wait longer than I wanted, but he was totally worth it more

Finally a REAL keratoconus doctor 6/23/2008

I have been seeing an 'expert' in DFW for my keratoconus. He told me, like another doctor, I must have corneal transplants. I searched, and thought there must be someone who can fit me with lenses. I just could not believe what happened at Dr Kurtin's office-- he made it look easy... on the very same day, he placed a fitting lens on my eye, and ordered lenses just like that! Within about 1 week I was seeing better than I had been for over 10 years... this man knows what he is doing, and does it well. Don't worry about how much things cost when it comes to my eyesight, anything better than having corneal transplants! Thanks for taking great care of me and treating me like a human. more

See much better now 6/17/2008

My mom recommended this place. I never could see with glasses bought at the department store doctors, not to mention the cheap exam/lousy service-- thought it was just me. But, when I met Dr Kurtin and he took a look, he spent the time with me like no other. My new glasses were made with some special lens he called wave or something, he said it would cost more but I was tired on not seeing right. Now my vision has never been better! Totally awesome! Thanks again guys! Pros: Doctor's are hard to find, this one is a keeper more

One of the worst experiences ever! 6/11/2008

Dr. Kurtin was fine himself, but I was stupid enough to order a very expensive pair of glasses from the in-house optometry shop. Now this is my first pair of glasss, but I knew when I recieved them that they were obviously made wrong. Cons: $600 for nothing. more

from charley thanks again 2/15/2008

got new insurance this year, and really hated to go elsewhere, but... went googled best eye doctor in dallas texas and this is what i found. gave it a shot, and i was amazed what id been missing. the staff is superb, and so caring not like what id expected. i had lasik a few years ago, vision changed, needed something, dr kurtin said ortho-k may work, said glasses part time better for now. what an honest approach, not just taking my money. a real feel good place and doctor that knows quickly what to do, and really impressed me. he did keep me waiting long, but i guess that the way it goes with better doctors. id hate to have no insurance but could see going here even without glad to pay out of pocket. Pros: reasonable fees, helpful staff, accepts new patients Cons: doctor not in all saturdays more

Just super with my child 11/11/2007

I had heard Dr Kurtin was good with children, but he was exceptional. Our pediatrician referred us over for vision testing. He hit the nail on the head when it came to my son's reading skills, thought he had a slow focus, and presrcribed prizm glasses-- that did the trick! No kidding, my son's reading skill shot up after only a few days! The teacher could not believe all the difference. The only trouble is Dr. Kurtin , ran late, but was very apologetic-- try to get a morning appionment-- but really was worth waiting for!!! more

Love this practice! 7/31/2007

I'm always unsure about new doctors, but I needed a change. After searching the net, this practice pops up on my radar. I don't have insurance, and some other places were cheaper----but I figured this guy knew more about stuff than others, just by looking at his website. I didn't mind paying more, and getting a great exam. Pros: Friendly staff! I like experienced doctors. Cons: Ran late more

Great experience all the way around! 3/4/2007

I went to Dr. Kurtin for glasses. He had a fantastic selection at great prices and he was running on time for my appointment! I would definantly reccomend! more

Totally best exam & Office 7/9/2006

Just moved here from Hawaii, and new doctors are not easy to find. I found Dr. Kurtin in our network directory, and WOW! -- was I lucky! Pros: Wow, modern clean office, professional staff Cons: none more

Perfect! 6/30/2006

We were visiting from Houston, my friend referred me to Dr. Kurtin, my contact lenses were bothering me. He refit me in lenses, and, for the first time in my life, I could see like never before--wow!! I've been to several doctors, but I will definitlyl travel to Dallas to see him for my next exam!!!!! Awesome service too!!! Pros: Great doctor!! Cons: Far from Houston more
