Best

WOW! All of the senses are aroused in this best-kept Westside secret locale. Luxurious tapestry hangs from the ceiling above platform sofas peppered with colorful, textured pillo...

Worst

waiters had very bad attitudes, kept on insisting us to get something from the wine menu even though we already told him we didnt want to drink. Food was average but the price ...

Attitude anyone? 5/21/2006

OK. So I'm going with my fiancee and a newly seperated friend so the the guys can see a cute belly dancer and we can eat good food. Cute belly dancer we got... very talented and probably the best part of the evening. The allegedly helpful and jovial staff were, otherwise, complete jerks: They rushed us to order, denied us the choice to order in courses (which my fiancee and I do OFTEN... hey, if we have to wait, isn't that on US??) "forgot" to bring our bread and my tea, and then were extremely rude when asked to pack the leftovers. Food was ok... but NOT worth the attitude. Pros: Good Parking, Talented Dancer Cons: RUDE staff more

This is the best Moroccan restaurant! 9/15/2005

This place is so delicious. The ambience is wonderful and the staff is so nice and welcoming. Everyone needs to try to Bastia, it is amazing. It is a great price for what you get, it is LA after all! The owner is so helpful and seems to really care about the clients that come to his restaurant. This is definately a great place for parties/birthdays/after work gatherings! Pros: free parking, great, helpful staff, excellent food more

Great Exotic Hangout Spot 9/14/2005

If you are looking for a small cozy place to have a warm exotic meal....this is the place to be. The decoration is cute and I just loved sitting in the corner surrounded by pillows... their dishes are slowly cooked. Lamb and chicken was so tender... Great Moroccan experience! more

Good food, Fun times! 12/9/2004

I love Morrocan food and the entire dining experience. Koutoubia is a really cute place with belly dancers, great music and really good food. We went with a large group of friends and had a wonderful time. Pros: Belly Dancers, Food more

disapointing 11/21/2004

my experience at Koutoubia was quite disapointing. I'm french born and grew up in the south surrounded by north african(morocan/tunisian..)food culture. Ican say that I know fairly what a good couscous or tagine is.the tagine Iordered was mediocre and the3 differents couscous my wife and my two friends ordered were not better. The portions were unusually tiny, nouvelle cuisine-ish. the dessert "gateau aux amandes"was a cookie that tasted like it came out of a box. It was totally overpriced (the owner was alittle pushy on the spending). the atmosphere was fine and the entertainment ok (belly dancer) but the (real moroccan) food was not there... Overall,if you have never experienced this type of cuisine before, you might not suffer too much, but if you are french or north african: don't go. Pros: atmosphere Cons: , frugal, tasted just ok more

Fun and great experience 11/11/2003

The food was excellent. I have had couscous prepared various way. The Koutoubia way was quite interesting as it mixes for sweet flavors, than I had previously. The wine list is a lot of fun, It would be great if they were to make suggestion on the food menu directly. Pros: wine list, ambiance, food Cons: complex pairing more

Belly dancing included 7/31/2002

This is a great place to take a group of friends. The atmosphere is warm, colorful and comfortable. You can share the food family-style while you watch live belly dancing. The patrons even join in sometimes. The food was flavorful and the service was very attentive. more
