This previously was one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. However, tonight, I ordered fresh spring rolls (rice noodles, shrimp and mint leaves), as I have done every time ...

Great little place 1/25/2006

Being a fan of Citizen Thai, we tried this out since it's much closer to us, and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, and the server was extremely friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be returning! Pros: food, service more

Can't miss this place if you like Thai food. 1/24/2006

I was having dinner at the restaurant last Sunday with my wife and had a very pleasant experience, the atmosphere was relaxing, the decor very Thai and beautiful and the food is very delicious. I was also impressed by the service, our waitress was very polite, friendly and unobtrusive, I will definitely be going back. more

Pretty Darn Good 1/12/2006

I thought this place was very good. I had the pumpkin/ck curry and it was awesome! I also had the spring rolls, beef satay, and the ck/mushroom soup. My fiance didn't like his dish though (some shrimp dish.) I tasted it, and it was a little bland. I guess it depends on what you get. But yes, I would say that everything that I ordered was great and I would definatley recommend it. more

Not all it's cracked up to be 12/8/2005

I've tried this restaurant several times, always hoping that it would live up to its reputation. It still hasn't, and we've stopped trying. The food is mediocre at best -- and we've tried everything from the old standbys to the niche cuisine that they call their specialties. The curries aren't bad, but the real problem comes with the price: each curry is $13 while a plate of two, tough, rubbery chicken satay skewers is $7. Skip this overly-trendy spot and get some good Thai food elsewhere more

STOP 10/17/2005

Stop before you head out your front door to this restaurant. If you don't you will find appetizers that stick to your hands and teeth. The fried corn cakes were made of overcooked tough corn mixed with a blob of sticky fried batter. The pad thai, a simple dish was so over the top orange that food dye must have been in one of the ingredients because it definately was not chili pepper because it was tasteless. Now for the best part of our dinner was the chicken and vegetable curry that tasted as if the cook must have intentionally not washed the vegtables because it tasted like dirt- Dirt Curry. Perhaps the restaurant is going for a niche market- yucky food made by people who could care less for people who care less about what they eat. more

What a great pumpkin curry... 8/23/2005

I 've been there on monday for dinner, the waiter was nice, friendly and very helpful. He recommended me to try the pumkin curry, it's the best pumpkin curry..I love the pumpkin curry...Great food and good service... more

What a ""HOT"" Service 7/18/2005

Me and my freinds went there for a going away party. My freind is from Amsterdam and it was actually her last day staying in the U.S. So, we decide to treat her to some Thai food. But we didn't expected the place to be so great. Great as in ; Service , food , and the place it self. My freind from Ams. was in love with the waiter. He was so cute and very freindly with us. We just had to take pictures with him. But over all, everything was great. Can't wait to go back. Pros: Service , Service, Food more

Wonderful Place 7/13/2005

There's alot of Thai restaurants out there. But in my opinion , Koh Samui is the best place to have a wonderful dinner at. I had a freind from Scotland who came here for vacation. She said that this was the best Thai restaurant she'd ever been to. The food was great. The service was excellent. The decoration was beautiful. Everything was perfect. You guys are great!!! Pros: Food, Service, Decorations more

He recommended us to try the sesame scallop, we love it..we love the food and we also love Kevin, he always took care us very well, he's the great server.. more

Best Thai in SOMA 6/9/2005

Me and my husband loves this place. We've been there so many times. The food is great. We always order alot and never finish it, and would always have left over for lunch. We also appreciate the sweetest, kindness of the services there. We love Nick, he was so freindly and kind and took care of us very well. Thanks Nick. We love this place. This would be the best Thai restaurant in Soma. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere more

To Dine for 6/6/2005

The food here was excellent. especially the Sea Bass was the best that we had. The service was outstanding. Freindly staff. The only thing that was wrong was the coctail drinks just takes too long. But overall, everything was perfect!! So Koh Samui, in my oppinion, is to dine for. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere Cons: Parking, Drinks more

If you like green curry 6/3/2005

.........this is the best I have found. It's consistenly good, and the chicken green curry might be my favorite dish going now. Trendy, but comfortable atmosphere if you dine in. Good for groups. Pros: green curry more

koh Samui is the best 6/2/2005

Ate @ Koh Samui and the Monkey last night again. Great food and service as usual. We never under stand those people who write bad reviews about them. Have these people ever been to Thailand or see any other Thai restaurant in town as busy as Koh Samui. Koh Samui is always packed for lunch and dinner because their food is the best in town. more

What a waste... 4/29/2005

...of money, time and fuel. A friend (who probably ate here a LONG time ago) recommended it, and we went despite the crappy recent ratings. Now we've tried our hand at some thai dishes, and let me tell you -- this restaurant has the unenviable talent of rendering even the easiest and tastiest dishes bland and inedible. There are simply too many good thai restaurants in SF to waste your time and money here. The service staff was reasonably nice, when they did finally make an appearance. Pros: Much street parking Cons: Food more

Food and service was differrent from before!! 3/8/2005

First time we were there on Valentine's Day. We got a great table near the window. It was very romantic. We didn't know what to order. Luckly we had a very nice waiter who helped us on our ordering. We had this pre fixed meal and it was delicious. It was alot of food but it was worth it . The service was excellent. So when we went back it was totally different. We wanted to try something new, so we asked the waitress what kind of beef dish that was spicy and was the best , and she answered like she wasn't sure. So we got the punung curry with beef. It was so chewy . The service was really bad. She didn't even came by to ask how the food was . It was a total upside down from the last time. Why? We still like the atmosphere. Pros: Reasonable Price, Atmosphere, Parking Cons: Service, Food insufficient more

Can I get some service ?? 3/7/2005

Me and my boyfreind went there because our freind recommended us, so we were expecting good service. But I was so dissapointed when I got very poor service. We couldn't even understand what she was telling us. I have to wave to her to get her attention and that really bothers me. I'm just going to tell you this. Not just the food that makes customers come back, but it's also the service. So this restaurant is so lack of service. Pros: Food, ambience, price Cons: service, service, service more

never again 1/23/2005

This is the worst thai food I've ever experienced. The four dishes we tried ranged from unbalanced flavors, tasteless to inedible. The experience was all ambience and no substance. Pros: ambience, good parking Cons: , expensive more

Best Thai in SF 7/11/2004

We've been to Koh Samui now 4 or 5 times, and it just keeps getting better. We just had the best thai food I've ever experienced. The sea bass green curry was sublime. The beef red curry was equally to die for. The wine list is quite good for an asian restaurantm, and you can almost always get a table. I don't know why this place is still relatively undiscovered, as it has replaced Manora in our book. Pros: atmosphere, food, location more

SUPERB! 7/8/2004

Every dish I have tried is immaculately prepared and tastes wonderful. The service is prompt, I've never waited more than about 15 minutes after ordering to get my food. Usually less than that! The only issue is parking in the evenings since this place gets busy...overall, best Thai food in the city! Pros: Prompt Service, Clean, Fairly Inexpensive more

great thai 2/22/2004

Excellent thai food, and beautifully designed dining room. 10 of us went in late on Friday, and dined family style. Almost every dish was flavorful, and enjoyed by all. The bill came to $25 per person, including a couple of bottles of wine, and three courses. Well worth it. more
