Way to hip and trendy for me! 2/24/2008

Unless you're trying to impress a few golddigger women with buying them rounds of drinks in a cool atmosphere, for a place to eat, you'd be better off elsewhere. The food is just fair and WAY over priced. I hate any Asian restaurant that charges $27 for a main dish and makes you pay an extra $3 for rice. I think it was $16 for a Grey Goose. Don't forget, you pay hotel prices when eating here. If you really love Thai food try going to Pongsri Thai Restaurant at 106 Bayard St. It's the best Thai restaurant in the NYC hands down! The atmosphere at Pongsri won't get you the girl.... but the food will! Pros: Great looking place Cons: Everything else more

Cute host 1/5/2008

The only good thing about this resturant was the host. I think his name was Jaime? Don't know, but he was the most pleasant gentleman I ever met. My table was not ready for the time of my reservation. I ended up waiting a good 30min. As irate as I was he offered me a drink at the bar, to take my coat, and apologized endlessly. Had a Wonderful Time Here! 12/3/2007

Went with a friend on the early side one Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised to find out about their $30 prix fixe menu that's valid from 5:30 to 7:00. The space is gorgeous and we found the service to be very pleasant, polite and professional. The food was very flavorful and beautifully presented as well. I would very much recommend this place and will keep it in mind when I have out-of-towners here for a visit. more

Good After Dinner Spot 11/20/2007

We went here after going to a restaurant near the area. It was a nice relaxed lounge with good music in the background. Was able to get seating for most of the evening. The bartenders were great and attentive. It's a good spot to bring your date to after a nice meal. Nothing but positive things to say. Pros: Great Lounge more

This review is in response to the review below mine called ""rude, rude, rude"" . I booked a party here and the service was excellent and the food catered by Kittichai was fabulous. Clearly you don't bring your own cake and utensils to a bar unless first speaking with management....i mean come on what is this a beach family barbaque....it's very clear to me that this person wanted to have an upscale party without the price tag. Wake up and smell the catering etiquette. You wanna play then pay up! Sorry don't mean to be rude, rude, rude but lets call a spade a spade....you were being cheap. I think this is a great lounge with great drinks and food and i hate for it's reputation to go downhill because someone was too cheap to consider what the proper etiquette is to having a party. Pros: Catered food by kittichai is amazing. Cons: Parking is tough in the area. more

Rude, rude, rude. 9/28/2007

I went to Thom Bar tonight for my friend's birthday. It's been a LONG time since I've encountered such rude, unhelpful, and ethically questionable service. First of all, she made reservations earlier in the week on the phone, and was only informed when she arrived that she had to open a tab for all 40 people on her credit card! Of course she was stuck since she'd already told all of her friends to meet there, and had to put down her card. Pros: There might have been some things here, but I was too disturbed by the cons to notice. Cons: Unbelievably rude service - managers are supposed to make sure customers have a good time, not abuse them. more

Average food and bad service 9/17/2007

Average food and bad service. The place had a ""cool wanna-be"" attitude. Our waiter acted like he was doing us a favor by answering questions we had about the food. When the food arrived it was nothing special - mediocre curry and overcooked fish. The only positive thing was the decor. They had a nice pool with floating candles, and tables weren't too close to each other. Will not go back. Pros: Nice decor Cons: Food, service more

Don't waste your time or money 9/14/2007

The food & wine was very average for the price. In addition, the service was terrible. Go to Tao or China Grill. You'll spend the same money and get much better foods, service, etc. more

Went for lunch, decor is great, food was decent. Glasses and utensils were stained. Were asked if we wanted rice to accompany our meal and we said no, but they brought out two orders of rice anyway and then charged us for them. It took a ridiculously long time for them to clear our empty plates, and then another ridiculously long time to bring the check, and since this is lunch during a weekday I had to get back to work, and then they brought the wrong check. Overall, eh. Pros: decor Cons: bad service, expensive for average quality meal more

I went, I saw and I had a horrible meal. The funny part about the dinner was that we where rushed by the waiter. I don't mind paying for good authentic food, but I've been to hole in the wall joints in park slope Brooklyn that would wipe the floor with this place when it comes to good tasting food.
