It’s the little things that make a big difference 3/7/2019

Every single person here has taken such good care of me. I know they really care by what they do and how they do it. For example, when I was down in the HAU, the monitor tech Jason got to know me. We talked and had a good time. He knew what shows I liked to watch on TV. Now that I’m in a regular room, he comes to check on me and, without me even asking, turns my TV to the show I like. It’s little things like that that make a big difference for a patient like me who can’t move around much. Another example is the wound care nurse Kirsty. One time I was in so much pain during wound care that Kirsty and the doctor stopped what they were doing. The next time Kirsty came to do wound care, she had found a different method, which worked so much better and was less painful. I really appreciated her effort to find a solution. Like I said, I have been cared for so well here at Kindred. more

Beautiful personalities 3/5/2019

I have met some of the most beautiful personalities here than I have ever known. Everyone has been wonderful to me. I have come so far because of all the genuine love and care I have received. Now I am battling pain as my wounds continue to heal. The encouragement of the nurses, other staff, and my family is my weapon against this pain. This has been an amazing experience for me here at this hospital. I feel blessed to have been cared for here in this hospital from these beautiful people. more

Wonderful people work here 3/1/2019

I would recommend this hospital because there are some wonderful people who work here. I would know, I’ve been here a long time. The staff are like my family. Most of the nurses bend over backward to be helpful. Dee calls me “sweetie pie.” And Trisha is one in a million. She comes to talk to me and I always hate it when she leaves. I used to be at a nursing home that was like hell. The VA got me out of there and eventually sent me to Kindred. Kindred is a wonderful treatment center. I trust them. I don’t want to leave because I know I’m getting good care here. more

Such good people 2/25/2019

I would most certainly recommend this hospital because they’re such good people and they take such good care of you. They put the patient’s needs first. And the food is like a 5-star restaurant! I haven’t had any problems. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my stay, I want to thank all of the staff. Especially Dee. There were times I felt down and Dee would come in and cheer me up. The nurses are all great. They even stayed calm when I was grouchy! And Mike in RT has me down to one liter of oxygen, amazing! PT has helped me so much too. When I got here I couldn’t even stand up. Now I’m walking to the end of the hall! They all take such good care of me, I really don’t want to leave! more

This has been a life changing experience 2/21/2019

Kindred has brought me so far. I’m proud of myself. Weaning off the vent was maybe the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The respiratory staff is so incredible here. All of the staff have been excellent. I have had no complaints or issues. I am so grateful to every single person who helped me. The team worked together and now I’m going home! This has been a life changing experience. more

This place makes miracles happen 1/31/2019

My sister has been at Kindred and I am so thankful she has been. She was in a coma for days and couldn’t get off the ventilator. Since she came to Kindred, she has been weaned off the ventilator, is talking and walking and just got her trach out. I have my sister back and I thought I was going to lose her. It’s a miracle. Thanks to everyone at Kindred! more

This place is amazing 1/31/2019

My husband had so much trauma. I am so thankful to Kindred. He was paralyzed and since he’s been at Kindred, he is weaning off the ventilator and moving his feet and hands. He’s mouthing words and communicating. Every day he makes progress. In the middle of the night, I call to check on him and the nurses tell me how he’s doing. I tell them to tell him I love him. The next day I ask him if the nurses told him I love him, and he says yes. Everyone has been so kind to him and me and my family, from housekeeping to the CEO to the nurses and the respiratory staff. This is an amazing place. more

Caring staff 12/27/2018

I would like to thank the whole staff. They do a good job and they're professional. They have helped me with more than wound care. Melanie the wound care. Ruse has been great, a special thanks to her. My wound has healed a lot. But more than that, the caring staff here have helped improve my self-esteem and my motivation. That's why I'm going to miss everyone. I have really enjoyed my stay here. more

The care is outstanding 12/13/2018

I was a real jerk at first, but they stuck with me and cared about me anyway. The care here is outstanding. I want to thank Trisha, of course. And Lauren who taught me how to swallow, and Mike in Respiratory who worked so hard to get me off the vent, and Mel in wound care, the experienced nurses, like Mary and Dee and Marva, too. Debra Ann in Housekeeping, Dr Davidson, Dr Picard, and Laka the dietician. Thank you to everyone who took such great care of me. more

Kind, clean, and courteous 12/13/2018

I would recommend this hospital because the staff are kind and respectful. They say who they are when they come to the door. They ask if you want therapy and if you're ready. They give you a choice. They don't push it on you. more

Personal connections 12/7/2018

I would recommend this hospital because the staff take the time to develop a personal connection with you. Even when someone was not assigned to my room, they stopped by to say hello to me. Like Marva. She's so great! All levels of the staff from housekeeping to administration take the time to be friendly and make you feel cared for personally. If I need long term acute care after my upcoming surgery, I will come back here because I know everyone and they know me. more

One on one 11/21/2018

I thank everybody at Kindred because everybody's been good to me. What makes this hospital different, and better, is the one on one contact you have with staff. They come and check on you, even when you don't use your call light. And when you do use your call light, they come right away. I would recommend this hospital. I like this place. more

I felt cared for 11/15/2018

My son was at Kindred long enough for me to see the great care they give to the patients and the families. The care came from everyone. I was greeted when I arrived by Tasha, who always had such a beautiful smile and made me feel welcome. The nurse supervisor, Danita, was professional and reassuring. Brenda, the case manager, called when she said she would and was also reassuring. The housekeeping staff were friendly and caring. I really appreciated the team huddle, when I was able to see, all at the same time, the number of professionals involved in and guiding his care. Trisha started off our stay with her welcoming and reassuring ways and ended it with a kind phone call to see how his transition went to his new facility. It was scary seeing my son, who used to be the strong one taking care of me, become so helpless and vulnerable. I had to entrust his care to the staff at Kindred and I am so thankful they truly cared for him. And me. more

They have done so much for me 11/15/2018

I would like to thank Mel, the wound care nurse, who has been so good. Dr. Davidson, the wound doctor, helped me and was kind. So was Dr Hague. Dee was my favorite nurse. I also really appreciated the care I got from Denise, Laney, and Genetria. There were others who were kind and helpful that I can't remember their names. So many of the staff have done so much for me. I really don't want to go. I would definitely recommend this hospital. more

You all are my miracle 11/9/2018

How do I thank you enough, Kindred. I am so pleased with all the care all of you have given me. Mike in Respiratory for his compassion and humor. Trisha, for listening and caring about what I have to say. The endocrinologist for taking the time to discuss the issues that are important to an insulin dependent person like myself. All of the nurses and aids for getting done what needs to be done with such caring. All of this has helped me so much. When I came here I was on a ventilator and pretty out of it. Now, my trach is out and I'm eating regular food. I got my voice back and my mind. Thank you everyone. more

Caring staff 11/5/2018

I would definitely recommend Kindred because they have a great staff that take such good care of you. Physical therapy is great and it has really helped me get stronger. Now I can walk down the hall and back, and up and down a flight of stairs! Respiratory therapy helped me wean off the vent. I have made so much progress here! more
