Kindred Hospital San Antonio

We’ve been to several facilities since June 2014 and this place has been the best transfer yet. At other places I had to make sure they had certain things for my husband, like an air mattress, and some hadn’t even heard of one. Here, they had one waiting for him when we arrived. The care has been excellent but the person who stands out the most is Noelle. She has a very welcoming personality and even recognized us immediately from years ago when my husband was a patient at per previous employer where she used to be a nurse. The dietary concern I had recently was addressed quickly by allowing me to speak to Tamara, the dietician, who was able to educate me and address my concern. My stay here has been wonderful. This is my 3rd time choosing Kindred. I like it because my husband is able to stay with me and doesn’t have to sleep on a recliner. He has a bed he can sleep on comfortably. All the staff is friendly. I especially appreciate Margarita, my night nurse and Elizabeth, a day nurse. They are wonderful, very caring, and always come in and check up on me. Also, Joe and Yara from the respiratory team. They provide super great care. - D. Garza more

I was at kindred in the past with a friend. His mother stayed here and I saw that they took really good care of her. So when I had to pick a hospital for myself, I went with kindred. My nurse Andy has been super friendly. She makes sure everything is taken care of, and goes the extra mile to be sure I have everything I need before she moves to the next patient. The food here is quite good as well. I like the fact that I can make substitutions to meals and create my tray just the way I want it. I’d recommend this place to others who like the small hospital feel. more

I just wanted to say if you come to this hospital, ask for Tara. She’s been my nurse here and has done an excellent job taking care of me. This has been my first stay at kindred, and it’s been an overall positive experience for me. Thanks again Tara! more

Hi, I just wanted to make a brief mention of my care takers here. Everyone has been wonderful. However, these nurses have really been outstanding. Elizabeth and Jamie you know who you are. dr Gibbs is excellent with me as well. I’m so comfortable with these guys here to help. I also wanted to give kudos to the physical therapy team. They have been very helpful, got me up and about this morning and made me feel so much better. A big thank you to all! more

At first I was really nervous to come to Kindred. It’s such a small hospital and I didn’t know what to expect. However, they have really blown me away with a great stay here. I love the large windows in my room, the bed is comfortable, and the staff is responsive and caring. My pain is under control and I feel right at home here. I’ve only been here for 2 days but they have been the best 2 days in a hospital I’ve ever spent! Thanks, Kindred! - J. Parma more

Estamos muy contentos aqui en Kindred especialmente por empleados como Josh quien trabaja en el departamento de respiratorio. Josh anima a mi esposa que se mejore y nos explica todo en una manera que podemos entender. Cuando lo necesitamos viene rapido y cuando preocupado, nos asiste lo mas pronto possible. Nunca se olvida de nosotros cuando se requieren sus servicios. La enfermera Laura es muy amiable tambien. Espero que se mejore mi esposa pronto con el ayudo de todos aqui en Kindred. I have been very satisfied with the service here. The whole care team has treated me nicely. They answer the call light pretty quickly too. I know there are a lot of other patients here, but they do take their time with you and make sure you are comfortable. I'll be heading home soon, just wanted to give a positive word for kindred staff. more

I got the opportunity to meet some really fantastic people that work there at Kindred. Everyone has been so nice and hospitable to me. Helped me in every way. The rooms are clean and the food was delicious especially at that cafe since it is catered by Luby's. But I do want to say thank you to a few people that really helped me out. Noel you have been very kind in helping me and I am sure that all the other patients love you as well. Also a thank-you to Laura who works in the radiology department for assisting me when I needed it. Thank you Angel for being very supportive. And one last final thank you to Kristen for helping me throughout the days that I was there. I hope that other patients and families read my review for you as I honestly believe your hospital is outstanding. This is my second time at Kindred and the reason why I keep coming back is because they have an outstanding wound care team. I met one wound care specialist by the name of Dorcas and she has been very attentive to my needs. Overall I really appreciate her looking after me. A definite recommendation to others to come to Kindred for wound care and always ask for Dorcas. James Boman more
