Kindred Hospital San Antonio

One, the kitchen is not only good but the food was always served on time. Secondly, the nurses are prompt to get here to answer my call light. They don’t keep you waiting and are here quickly. I think the staff is very good. The nurses are nice, friendly, and do a good job. They also do a good job about keeping my bed straight. I love the room I’m in with all the windows. This place also has a great staff of doctors. They take time to sit down, talk, and answer any questions. I especially like my heart doctor but they are all very good. D. Reif more

As a retired nurse, I know what to look for with patient care. My family member was moved here from another hospital where her care was obviously not top priority. Nurses never came in to check unless a machine was sounding off.. anyways.. here at kindred she has received such compassionate care. The ICU nurses have been not good, but exceptional. If they don’t know the answer to my question they follow up with me when they find the answer. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. You won’t be disappointed with kindred. more

Kindred has been a lovely place for my loved one. There is an LVN named Chris who is so good! She will be discharged soon and I am happy to know she will be leaving with no bed sores. more

Every member of the care team was great. From the cleaning ladies to the doctors. Everyone was so sweet and considerate. Took the time to get to know my husband and remember the way he liked things, down to where he wanted his pillows, a couple of individuals I’d like to mention are Tina, Angela, Larissa, Flora, and Ali. Both day and night staff were exceptional. The hospital is very clean and the cafeteria trays were clean and healthy too. I saw a member of upper management come by and check on us daily. Doing their rounds just to be sure we had everything we needed made us feel highly valued and heard if we ever had a problem to address. Great staff. Great stay. Thank you to everyone. more

After a personal injury I was sent to kindred for recovery. I have been so very impressed with the level of kindness these nurses have towards myself and each other. It just seems to keep spreading, or ‘paying it forward’ if you will. It’s been an amazing thing to experience. You don’t see that very often anymore. The food has also been wonderful. Too big of portions for me! But very delicious.. being served fresh fruit has also been especially gratifying. It’s so good for you. Thank you kindred staff.. I’m leaving today and I definitely wanted to say a special thank you to Lana my nurse. more

We are pleased with the food, the establishment, and the nurses do a good job taking care of our loved one. The nurses and CNAs provide efficient teamwork and show initiative. We have been treated very well here at Kindred. more

All nursing was good and the food was good too. Any concerns we had were all taken care of quickly. I would recommend this place to others. Our family member has gotten better here at Kindred versus when he was in another hospital. Thank you everyone! more

I’ve been to newer hospitals yes, but don’t let that discourage you from coming to kindred in the medical center. It’s clean, and the service has been exceptional. Every caregiver I have had has been so attentive to me. Can’t say thank you enough. Over all, spot-on, great job kindred. more

Working in a hospital myself, I know how things can sometimes go. My stay here at Kindred has been nothing less than excellent. All the members of the staff are great, day and night shift. I haven’t found a bad one yet. For my physical therapy, Debbie and Gina have worked with me and pushed me to get where I am now. Great team all around. Also wanted to mention my nurse Sherwin, GREAT bedside manner. I leave tomorrow and just want to say thank you to everyone here at Kindred. more

Everyone here has been wonderful, I love them to death for what they are doing for me. They Communicate clearly, before they do anything with me. I never knew such a place existed. My Son found kindred online and some friends also recommended kindred due to positive past experiences. Excepeptional service. more

All I can say is that everyone at Kindred Hospital has been great. You all have been very accommodating and have gone out of your way for me, my husband, and family. I truly appreciate you all. I have been to other hospitals where the experience was “built up” and then when I got there it was completely different. At Kindred I have gotten more than what I expected. My husband has been able to stay with me, he even has his own bed! My daughter found out about Kindred and it was highly recommended by some of her coworkers so after much consideration we decided it was the best place for me. I have no regrets! I understand how opinions can ruin a person’s job or even a business but I stand behind my words because I have experienced the care Kindred offers and I really appreciate the whole group there. If I had to do it all over, I would choose Kindred again. more

Just thought I would give some kudos to Jamie who is a CNA at Kindred. I really appreciate her kindness and care that she has provided to miss Leger who I am taking care of. She has been very helpful with anything that we have needed and also very supportive in her care. If there was something we needed help on she would always find out for us or if she didn't know it she would guide us in the right direction. We like that she is easy to talk to. . Food has been good and I know she is going to miss the desserts. Rossy Gomez more

Everyone at Kindred has been exceptional but 2 people stand out the most. The dietician, Tamera, has been very helpful. She has been able to get me special meals and extra things to help me put on weight. Also Gina in physical therapy has done everything she can to help me accomplish all the goals she set for me. The prayer group on Thursdays is great too. The doctors are nice too. It’s nice when they come in and chat with me for a little bit. Dr. Chalaby was one of them who spent a little extra time answering my questions. more

being in the hospital is generally no fun. but the staff here have made the time most pleasant. they like to joke with me and they are always happy to help me with anything i may need. Purina was especially kind, but everyone was awesome. I just can't remember their names! i have enjoined the big windows in my room as well. cafe food is alright, the dietitian has been working with me to come up with our new game plan and so far everything is going well. so overall, kindred has been great. helpful, kind and polite staff. thanks everyone for what you do. -V more

If you see the place, it is older... but the staff just lights it up. Everyone is happy to help. Even the housekeeper Maria talked with me and made me feel at home. The staff was courteous and quiet for me in the evening hours. After talking with the nutritionist, the chef here actually made me a quinoa salad and it was so refreshing. You can tell they really care about us here and it just makes a hospital stay all that more pleasant. more

I wish I could think of all the names of the people that have worked with us here. Everyone has been really awesome over all. If you have to come to this hospital, might I recommend Jennifer, Liz, Tara, and purina for nurses. The respiratory therapy team has gone over and beyond. Doctor Pecha came by in his bow tie to check my mom before she leaves today. He actually tested her strength, interacted with her, and made sure she was on track. Even the house keepers are wonderful here. They have talked to us and entertained us. Maria especially has made our stay feel like we are among family. Now for everyones’ favorite subject... cafeteria food. I am a health nut and I always watch to be sure everything is neat. Let me tell you, this cafe is clean as a whistle and the trays are organized and clean. The food is tasty and filling. I believe Luby’s runs it. I’ve been really happy with our stay here at kindred. Just wanted to spread the news and say thank you to this great team. more

My stay here at Kindred Hospital has been pretty good. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 10 for amazing. The nurses and doctors pay attention to my concerns and keep me well informed. Hi everyone, my name is Rey I just wanted to mention a few names and put out a review for this place. My family and I had my mother at a different LTAC in Houston where I’m pretty sure she would not have made it if we had stayed there. After talking to Carlos and Ramon about Kindred we decided to move mom here. After seeing some mixed reviews online, we were a little hesitant to bring her here. That’s why I really wanted to write this review so you all can know that this is an excellent, Neurospecific LTAC facility. I was so surprised to see the CCO making rounds. Usually you have to fight to see someone higher up and talk with them about the care you are receiving. This hospital brings the higher ups to you. They genuinely care about my mom and communication with us. That’s one thing that has been exceptional here. The communication between the care team and myself. My mom is nonverbal, so the nurses and the doctors have done a great job making sure all our questions are answered and we feel comfortable with everything. I feel this place gave my mom a good bounce back in her health. She’s been doing much better and though her health has started to fail her again, we could not be more satisfied with the treatments and care she has received at kindred. Jennifer, Leslie, purina, and Jenna have been exceptional nurses. We appreciate you all. Big thank you to everyone that has helped us here at kindred. more
