Jekyll & Hyde Club

I was recommended to Jekyll & Hyde by a friend who said it was an excellent place to bring my children during the halloween season. My only regret is that I did it on Halloween day, as there was a line to get in and it took longer than usual for us to get our food. I believe we will go back at other times of the year as well. The actors were very convincing and the food was above average for the price range. I had a ribeye steak which was perfectly prepared, and my wife had a pasta dish with shrimp which she enjoyed as well. My oldest son had a Monster burger, and my youngest son had a kids chichen, and they both finished their plates, which is unusual as they are both hard to please. I would definately recommend Jekyll & Hyde for the holiday season, or any time of year. I understand they also book parties. I took my wife and daughter here last week, thinking it was a kids destination. I was surprised to find that it was definitely for all ages. Not only did my daughter have a great time playing with the different characters that walked around the club, but her mother and I had a blast too. Even after we were through eating, we ""explored"" the rest of the club and found the arcades on the upper levels which kept my daughter occupied for another half hour. The food was great but the atmosphere is what we will be back for. Very few places can entertain the attention of a 7 year old and adults as well, but this place pulled it off nicely. BAD, BAD, BAD!!!!! Do not go!!! We took a party of 5, three adults, two 13 year old girls. After we ordered drinks at the bar, we were told they only accept American Express, cash and travelers checks. ""If that's a problem"" the bartender said, ""there's an ATM in the lobby."" This place is crazy. Do they think people are stupid? All of the postive comments are made by people that work there. They used the exact same comment for the both restaurants in the city. This is the second time I have been here with my kids now for my son's birthday! It is nice to know that I can bring my 16 year old daughter and my 11 year old son to the same place and they can enjoy themselves. I will be coming back! Pros: Kids loved it! more

WARNING!!! AVOID THIS PLACE!!! This has to be the absolute worst restaurant that my boyfriend and I have ever gone to. I?m a New Yorker and I have visited various places in the city starting from the cheapest hole in the wall to the most well know and expensive. We always like to try something new, but my bank account and stomach could have gone without this ridiculously expensive and salty meal. Everyone at my table, including myself, had an upset stomach for two days afterwards. At first we thought that the entertainment is the reason that the prices are high but when we got the bill, there was a separate fee ($2.75 per person) for the entertainment. In terms of the entertainment, its corny -- whether for kids or adults. If you do decide to go here anyway, try to get seats on the first floor because that's where the corny action is taking place. This is basically a place for tourists who step foot into the city and see the corny monsters in front of the place and decide to go in. They don?t know any better and I don?t blame them for going there, because when I visit a different country I don?t know what?s good or not. My boyfriend and I, checked out this tourist spot mid-week. The 1st bit was ok-we got the intro, were taken to a table & given menus (1 had the wrong insert). Our server arrived and we told her we needed a few min to decide. Pros: Easy to find. Cons: Food, Service & Value. more

I took a group of 78 to J & H Club. They cashed our $3,200 check for a 2-hour private party. No salads were ever received, 20% of guests did not receive food at all, the food that was finally delivered - after THREE HOURS of waiting and excuses - was horrible. Management will not offer any refund, even for the food that was never delivered. The will not return phone calls or email. This place was advertised all over the place so me and my girlfriend wanted to check it out. IT WAS HORRIBLE! The food was among the worst I have ever had at a restaurant and the bill was MUCH MORE than I ever expected. This is the most fun you can have in a restaurant. The food is good. We always enjoy the 10oz burger and a beer from there extensive beer menu. The kids always can't wait to visit each year. Be prepared because this is in the heart of Manhattan and prices are much higher there. We enjoy each visit more and more. Wow! We visited the Jekyll and Hyde Club last night and had the best time. The service was great! The entertainers acutally had my son and daughter join them on the stage for a weird version of the monster mash. The food we ordered was delicious. I need to say....this restaurant was simply awful. Not only was the food extremely overpriced but the entire presentation was worse than any other theme restaurant I've ever seen (even Mars 2112). The menu is relatively bland and as I said expensive, considering its simplicity. The food and it is beyond ""not good"" - it is terrible. How can they mess up a salad (soaked in dressing), burn a hamburger and undercook chicken ? it was served raw! We were so ready to get out of there. In the end, we had waited forever for our bill and our awful server was rude and filthy. All in all, we were not impressed! My family and I ate at Jekyll and Hyde Thursday evening and had the most friendly service we've encountered in the city. Food was good, portions huge, and entertainment was very interactive. Congratulation Jekyll & Hyde Club, this was absolutely the worst dining experience of my life. First of all the service was just awful. Unprofessional, filthy waiters and waitresses were unable to take a simple orders and could not carry plates without shoving their fingers in the food? Absolutely horrendous. As mentioned above, our waiter (from hell) had filthy uniform - his pants were covered with grease and ketchup stains? his body odor was also awful. Not a great first impression!! The food is fairly good, although my wife got a serving of cold and saggy waffle fries and again the servers were of no help to us and skillfully ignored us throughout this dreadful evening. When I finally thought that the evening was over, here comes a large rodent ? huge, fat, filthy rodent - sitting on a staircase in the middle of the dining room!! My wife took our children and ran out? I understand this is New York City, but still rodents in a restaurant are absolutely unacceptable. It was not over however!! After I got back to our hotel, I discovered that I paid a service charge (17%) on a top of a very generous (15%) tip. So, in the end I was also robbed!! Food was good service was friendly and the entertainment was fun. We visited the Jekyll and hyde downtown and enjoyed the atmosphere so much we made sure to visit their uptown location. We sat down up in the attic and the clown that came to life was creepy. Make sure you don't kiss the doll! She is alive! more

We brought the family to the Radio City Christmas Show and then to Jekyll and Hyde for dinner. It was a perfect way o end the day. This plae is no unique and fun with all kinds of crazy haracters walking around and little shows and things coming to life all over the place. They had a grat kids menu and the portions were large so our kids were very happy. My wife and I also enjoyed our food, but the best part is the unusual atmosphere, shows and decorations. It was like we wnent to anohter show after the show. I would go back again next time we go as a family into the city.
