This place is the best for many reasons. It books the top acts. It is smoke free. Those two reasons should be enough in my book.
I stopped going to clubs because I couldn't stand the smoke, so it is a treat to go to the Showcase where I can both hear great jazz and breathe at the same time.
Joe Segal has been the benevolent despot, I mean impresario here from the beginning. He has created a great Chicago institution, long may it reign.
